    Yeah the transmission is silky smooth. Love my girls 2012 Si. It's still holding true just like this one

    I’m glad this showed up on my recommended, awesome detailed video of the 9th gen. I feel that the 9th gen gets over shadowed by the 8th gen and 10th gen. I got a 2012 si as my daily with 275k miles. Extremely reliable with good mpg if you drive like a grandma.
    The car is best driven to redline on a nice curvy road. The gear ratio is very close so it’s great when pushing the car but sucks for traffic. I have a coupe so the long doors suck on close parking spots or uphill. None the less, I got the car brand new in 2012 and it was well worth the money.
    Coils, downpipe, full exhaust, RPF1S, and tires the car is plenty of fun.

      Wow! That’s awesome to hear yours is holding up well even at 275k miles. I agree completely, the ownership experience has been great. Thanks for your feedback!

    I bought my Si with 78k miles on it back in April and after months of owning it, it still puts the biggest smile on my face when I start it up before I leave for work. It's definitely not the fastest car in the world but mine came with a custom exhaust and it sounds amazing (A little loud haha).

    As a 2013 FB6 owner with Hondata FP tune ,I/E and suspension mods, great review.I love both the K20 and K24, but the K24 definitely has the torque advantage despite the lower redline.BTW my redline is 7600😉🙂

    That beefier suspension and sway bar was put in the 2014 Si with a 18 wheel and 225 tires to boot.
    One of the reasons I searched for a 2015 Si back in 2019, cause I did not like the 10 gen Si (they have the same 1.5 engine just with higher boost and suspension tuning thats it, not that special compared to regular Civic models)
    But the 2014 and 2015 models drive like a different car compared to the 2012 and 2013 models...heck it looks more aggressive also, at least in the coupe model.
    The 9th gen is an interesting model to me...it only stayed for 4 years compared to the usual 6+ years...and on top of that the 9th gens are constantly being revised through out the model years with the Sedan and Coupe until it hit the 2014 model year.

    • @AutoWisdom
      @AutoWisdom  ปีที่แล้ว

      I learn something new everyday! Thanks for sharing, I didn't realize the later model 9th gens received those upgrades although I was aware of a slight horsepower bump to 205.

    • @slowka
      @slowka ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Honda gave a sportier suspension and a few other goodies on the 2014-2015 models both FG/FB models.There are numerous suspension upgrades for the car, so its not a huge issue.

    • @Tae_94
      @Tae_94 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed that too with the 2014 and 15 models. I have a 2013 fb6 and i blew the oem motor back in May...so i found a 2015 si motor and dropped in in the car. It feels waayy different than the last motor. Granted i am fbo minus the flex fuel kit. Car makes 215hp...182tq

    got mine in 2020 with 30k miles on 2013 coupe. tbh all you need is coilovers, corners balance, 17x9 with 255 square and its pretty damn quick in the canyons. stock tune is enough.

    Two years ago I bought mine, it had 41,000 miles on it, it's a keeper! It's no hot rod, but it's very fun to drive! I put some siped up Bridgestone tires on it and it and it handles a lot better, it's not too bad in snow either.

    My biggest complaints with these civics is the rev hang, short gearing (for normal driving but it's still fun lol), and the paint on these cars fades so bad. They also need sway bars to kind get the weight distribution right.
    And to correct you a little a CUSTOM exhaust. Not an ungodly awful straightpipe. But a proper custom exhaust set-up, and headers really help get rid of some of that rev-hang. A lot of exhaust systems sound good on these cars too with a proper set-up. I don't like anything too stupid loud, but something with a nice tone, and sporty enough to let the gasses flow and stop hanging the engine.
    Otherwise, absolutely love these things. Trying to talk my buddy into letting me snatch his 12 Si with only 117k miles! Other than coils and wheels it's bone stock too.

    • @AutoWisdom
      @AutoWisdom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're sweet cars indeed. I agree, a tasteful exhaust setup goes a long way with this platform!

    Just bought a sedan SI of the same year and color today. Nearly the same mileage at 166k too. What an absolute blast to drive. I was looking at 8th gens as well but I found the FG6 at a price I couldn't pass up on. Wish it wasn't raining on the ride home. All kinds of sharp curves along the way

      @@OtesI have a 2012 si my buddy has a 2015 and they are both bad ass. You have to know how to drive them. I am currently upgrading the rear sway bar and installing strut bars front and rear. That should stiffen it up. With just basic bolt on and dyno tune I am running low 13s also stage 2 clutch with lightweight flywheel. I did everything for 5000.00 I was getting ready to buy a type R but decided to upgrade what I had. It only has 102,000 miles on it.
