Not been out in a few months due to work went to an organised dig in Scotland today and tried this program for the first time today, i am still getting used to the deus 2 but i must say 6 coins it worked wonders for me on version 1.1 thanks for sharing your settings 😀🏴
Hi. So yesterday I took your Forager program to the beach. I was amazed! It totally rejected the small pieces of aluminium! Gave an awful signal. Even on the larger lumps the signal would turn to reject on the coil edge Thank you so much. Cheers

Used this program quote a lot this week on nasty rape stubble site, very very stable and picking out some small targets. Very easy on the ears compared to my normal full tone program and missing nothing when I switch programs to compare. Cheers mate will be keeping this in my arsenal it’s a great program

Thanks Marty, I reckon you will like this one mate. Really hit hard on those decent signals. Just remember to trust the machine. I’ve found usually if the signal seems even slightly dodgy it usually is. You will hear straight away when you have a good one. Let me know how you get on 👍👍
Hi an update on Forager ... I've had some incredibly deep decent signal finds ... I have adapted it to 4 tones ... iron coke.mid high ... because I have alot of trouble some coke signals around 30-32. This seems to work well.
I used it on a dig and quite happy with it. Found a vicky shilling and the audible came through great. Better on the iron too albeit I was fooled by a few pieces. I will persist with it as I am enjoying it. Thks for your input. Used on pasture not too contaminated

Thanks for sharing this program. So far I like the results that I've been getting. I set up 2 variations of your program - one for a lower trash environment and one for trashy area. I'm in the US so I set it up with tone breaks for each type of American coin along with a tone bin for the mid-tones. Instead of 3 tones, I use 4 tones for the lower trash areas and 5 tones for high trash areas. Thanks again!

@@OMA_MetalDetecting After 3 outings mostly pasture I can say that the deepest so far was just over the pinpointer length. Your program makes it enjoyable to hunt being calm but still hits the targets aggressively. I still get iron but very similar to .6 &.71.

hello and thank you for your program I have to test it in autumn because the ground is much too dry and hard. for the B-caps set to 3 does it really work on ferrous? I saw that in your last video you set the squelch to 1 instead of 2, 1 is now your default setting? thank you
Default is always silencer 2 for me. Forager is a base program so tweak as you need but never save it over the original. I have been using freq max of 40 recently with good results but you need super clean ground for that IMO. Good luck in the Autumn, stop by here and let me know how you get on 👍👍
I’m confused about why your third tone is set so high. That would mean hammered pennies come in as a mid tone - well unless on your land they have a different TID to the norm - full pennies come in at 68-72 on my permissions. As an aside have you tried full tones yet on 1.1? They are working beautifully again, a real joy to use - so good I’m finding it easy to go ears only as even misshapen iron easy to spot. If you give it a try let us know how you get on.
Good question Catherine. So I have tested nearly every hammered I have and noted their VDI number. All but the very small ones came in above 73 with the exception of some of the debased issues. The mid tone is still a nice sweet tone and definitely diggable but the idea is anything over 73 over should be a certain digger (audio dependent) hence why it gives you the best tone. In all the testing I’ve done 73 is definitely the magic number when it comes to target separation. Hope that helps 👍👍
I used to absolutely rave about the x-y screen on the original Deus however I’ve found it’s not as good on the D2. It’s seems to behave completely differently in my opinion but I wish it was the same I really do! Thanks for commenting 👍👍

Forager will work with any coil. A different coil size might be more effective than another based your ground conditions. Clean ground, go bigger but noisy polluted ground go small is a good rule of thumb 👍👍

A mix of soil conditions really. Some very mineralised and some not. This program is an all round program though. Think of it as a base program. Save these settings and adjust if necessary as you go without saving 👍👍
I'm very curious how you arrived at 7.4 for discrimination. In fact, I'm curious how anybody sets discrimination to such a precision as to use a decimal value (XP does it, too, and I've always wondered how they make that decision)
It’s a great question! When I design a program I start with the discrim on 3 and work up from there. I then test the program over several months notching it up until I get to a point where the ground noise is eliminated. At this point I decide where the happy medium is in order suit a vast majority of ground conditions and go with that. Hope that helps 👍
I used this program on sunday on short stubble - fantastic clear tones and I didnt dig any Iron which is a first for me. One thing I did notice was coke comes in at a perfect ear blowing 99 - but you soon get your ear tuned to it

There isn't a metal detector on earth, that would detect a silver hammered half penny at 18 inches down, on baked dry/hard soil Please refrain from making silly, outlandish, claims. it makes you look and sound silly, and you lose all credibility I own a deus 2 and "Forager" gets no where near 18 inches I have also previously owned a gpz 7000 P. I, and that would have got nowhere near 18 inches Prove it with a video, but please no more 18 inch claims.....
I’m all fairness it might be a little exaggeration on the foot and a half but it was deffo over a foot. I recorded it on a live dig luckily. In all honesty though, I was just as surprised as you are 👍

Used this worked really well yesterday ... Infact it pulled a tiny 1cm button which was wafer thin up from 18-20" which is pretty amazing

The only thing I've added to mine is notching out the coke. Forager is lighting up the targets on my permissions!
That’s what I usually do around coke… Notch out between 26-32 usually works a treat. GlAd your enjoying it. How deep are finding things? 👍👍

Great video as usual, have you had a look at the X-Y screen? I'm loving it, not so good on deep targets but it's an extra discrim for iron i've found.

I was using the 13” coil for the initial hit then swapped to the 11” which also picked it up really well. Hope that helps 👍👍

Good question… so when the EQ is on the button shows “off” to turn it off. It confused me at first too 👍👍

Program works good, but i find hot rocks now. Never had that problem before.

There isn't a metal detector on earth, that would detect a silver hammered half penny at 18 inches down, on baked dry/hard soil
Please refrain from making silly, outlandish, claims. it makes you look and sound silly, and you lose all credibility
I own a deus 2 and "Forager" gets no where near 18 inches
I have also previously owned a gpz 7000 P. I, and that would have got nowhere near 18 inches
Prove it with a video, but please no more 18 inch claims.....
I’m all fairness it might be a little exaggeration on the foot and a half but it was deffo over a foot. I recorded it on a live dig luckily. In all honesty though, I was just as surprised as you are 👍
