It's 1978 and the height of punk rock. Music critics considered them the "geriatrics" on the scene. They were raunchy, sleazy rock n rollers, but man were they tight. 40 years later and still the best freaking garage band this world will ever see. That is all.

Many consider their run from Beggar’s Banquet to Exile to be the pinnacle but theirs something about Some Girls that still sounds hip today. The Stones were able to mix rock, punk, new wave, country and disco without losing their edge well into their existence.

This video and the _Start Me Up_ one are just proof that music videos don’t have to be elaborate, big-budget mini-movies to be memorable.

Unbelievably - I've never seen this promo !! Heard the song Respectable about a billion times of coarse. Some Girls is one of the last great Stones albums imho. The last was Tattoo You in 1981. Every track is killer & the production is beautifully glossy and superbly recorded. Go Stones. Still Rolling. Good on yer boys !! Peace. Rx

Always have loved this song and this video. Captures the essence of the Stones. This video was one of those gems from the MTV /80's days when MTV didn't suck. The Stones had some great videos from the days prior to MTV such as She's So Cold, Start Me Up, etc too that were simply awesome in their simplicity, yet portrayed the Stones as who they are, just a band out to have fun and play some seriously awesome music.

They have written & released many really great songs since, but I consider this as their last ultimate classic.
Loose, badass, vulgar, raunchy, fun : a definition of perfection.
And Bill & Charlie at one of their peak.
