Took me a full he to bring my A1c to non diabetic at 5.2 A1c. It came down gradually even at only 10 g carbs day. Well worth sticking to this low carb way of eating ! Got discouraged at people who reported doing it in 3 months. Don't listen to others timelines!!

    • @gazsto

What was your stress levels like? new research suggest that an individual's A1c levels can be an indicator of their life stress loads. Do you exercise? do you go for walks? are you housebound and unable to enjoy life? What do you do to de-stress each day! the emotional aspect of your existence is as important (and maybe even more so) than your physical and human health states. There is a direct link to your 'physical health' and 'emotional health', with evidence and research studies, finding low (and no) carb diets and individuals still having a higher-than-normal A1c level and related diabetic conditions, the main culprit is not sugar or carbs - but the stress response and 'fight or flight' activation causing elevated levels of blood sugars surging through our veins. Fascinating to say the least, if you have managed to get your sugars down, maybe a part of that was you were eating more as a reaction to your daily stress episodes? Wishing you well and stay healthy and stress free!!!

You can't be in consistent ketosis on a carnivore diet. Real ketosis is by fasting. The only difference between a protein and a carb is nitrogen that makes amino acids. Proteins can become glucose. Fats are mostly concentrated long and short chain carbs. As long as proteins/carbs/glucose are in the system fats/ketones are 3rd order energy systems.

@@asherasatorsome cells like immune cells might be able to metabolise glutamine directly. Glutamine is an amino acid. Exogenic Proteins are always broken down into amino acids by your digestive system. They require a lot of processing to be converted into sugars. That processing is crazy expensive. Ever hear of "rabbit starvation"? People in hard times would hunt and eat as many rabbits as possible, but still starve because protein alone wasn't enough to keep humans functioning.

Your body, every single cell, THRIVES on glucose...not ketones, and not glucose made from protein, which creates a lot of ammonia as a side effect (leading to kidney failure) and it makes NO sense for anyone desiring health to eliminate carbs from real food. In gluconeogenesis, not only are you taxing the body and hammering your kidneys, you are then sacrificing the aminos you need for rebuilding organs and muscle to make GLUCOSE. I don't know what hack convinced you to eat low carb, but they are wrong. Insulin resistance does not mean you demonize or stop eating carbs. Even with diabetes can be reversed while eating carbs. The symptoms can be suppressed with low carb nonsense, but eat one bite of an apple and you will see that you are still IR.

I notice on low carb diet I spike blood sugars 130's 1 hour after a meal.. but if I walk or ride my bike up the steep hills around here, it will reduce my after meal spike my 20-30. I try to keep my carbs ultra low! I think the post meal exercise helps bring some of that sugar into my muscles when I do my short workout. What people think is eating healthy or low carb often isn't. No breads, no pastas, no rice, no sweet sauces, no sweet salad dressings, no sweet fruits. It took me a long time to get my diet dialed in, to know exactly what I can eat. Usually lunch is Meat and a salad, with vinegar and oil dressing. When I was diagnosed my sugar was over 500! They put me on insulin twice a day. Now My A1C is 4.9 and I'm off all diabetes meds. My advice, Eat low carb/keto and do a workout for 10 mins after you eat, especially with your big leg muscles! If you have stairs or hills you can climb, do it after meals!

A common issue with plant-based protein sources is their lack of essential amino acids. It's crucial for all amino acids to be present in the correct proportions for effective tissue synthesis in the body. If even one essential amino acid is insufficient, the body cannot effectively use it for tissue formation and instead converts it to glucose through a process known as gluconeogenesis. In contrast, animal proteins like meat contain all essential amino acids in the right proportions, making them ideal for tissue synthesis. Eggs are particularly effective as they are well absorbed by the body and ideal for tissue formation.
It's also important to moderate protein intake to avoid overburdening the metabolism. Fats play a crucial role as they slow down the metabolism, helping to prevent insulin spikes. This balance is key to maintaining stable blood sugar levels. Therefore, including fats in every meal is important to regulate metabolism and ensure a steady energy supply.

if readers of this truly want to heal themselves and live normal lives, you have to go full, strict carnivore and stick to it. The reason why you are all debating what to eat and trying to add in little cheats and so on is because you don't want to expend the effort and will power necessary to get through the initial stages of carnivore and the adjustments your body goes through at first. People have all sorts of elaborate excuses why they can't do carnivore and obsess over glucose meters and counting carbs. You don't need any of that. Adopt a carnivore way of eating and make it though the first few months without cheating and it's smooth sailing for the rest of your lives. I've been full carnivore for over two years now and love it. I never think about food or count anything or worry at all. I never weight myself anymore or check glucose levels or look up foods before I eat them. I don't desire non carnivore foods anymore. I don't like or eat salads, fruit, sugars, vegetables, etc. I love red meat, eggs, and bacon. I have no issues, no aches, no pains, no problems, and I put no thought into eating or how much I weigh. I lost all my excess weight and got off all medications after my first year on carnivore. Now, into my third year, I have returned my body to it's natural state and I'm no longer influenced by fake food or cravings. We live in a time where we are bombarded by propaganda and manipulation. You are not meant to eat donuts or modified grains, fruits and vegetables. People need to summon whatever will power they have to go hard core from the start and make it through the first few months of headaches, aches, cravings, poop problems, fatigue, etc. and finally flush their bodies of the garbage you've been eating and break through to finally get back in touch with your body and feed it appropriately.

Type 2 diabetes is awful. I have no issues yet, but I worry a little bit, because my diet is rich in carbs and I have a diabetic uncle in my family. I avoid sugar, sodas and processed junk food. The carbs I eat are mainly full grain. I was obese weighing more than 120kgs but I managed to loss 30kgs in a 3 years period by a mainly plant and unprocessed (full grain) carbs diet and physical activity. As you understand I don't like meat that much, so keto and carnivore diets were out of option. What I realised by eating full grain bread, rice, or pasta, is that I couldn't eat more than a relative small portion. And what diferates medicine from poison is quantity. Fiber and starch releases glucose gradually, not instantly and fiber contains vitamins that lower the blood glucose levels a little bit. Additionally fiber helps you to have a healthy gut by increasing the beneficial bacteria that boost the immune system and prevent insulin resistance. That's why there is a huge difference when you eat a whole orange, instead of drinking an orange juice. White rice and full grain rice are both high in glucose. When the Chinese were eating full grain rice there were no diabetics. After they adopted the white rice things changed. A healthy diet, a cheerful spirit and physical activity can prevent most type 2 diabetes. Don't get me wrong, I don't advise people with diabetes to eat carbs. I just wanted to mention that all carbs are not the same. I know an 80 years old beekeeper who has eaten tons of raw honey during his lifetime and has no health issues at all. If he was eating donuts, he would be dead or sick.

Get a test done with fasting glucose/insulin, drink 75g sugar drink, then every hour after for 3-4 hrs with both glucose and insulin readings. You can tell by this what is REALLY going on. You read people’s success stories in 3 to 6 mo. and I’m beginning to doubt everyone. I wonder if this is a glucose matter after all because nothing is working when treating it as a glucose matter. Fasting insulin normal. Have kidney and pancreatic cysts. Is this the possible problem? Why is my hard work not reducing my A1C? Thank you

Well my fasting and average blood glucose was staying in the low 100 range on a low carb or carnivore diet and would not drop down below 100 unless i ate a high carb/high glycemic meal like rice and beans or oatmeal on occasion. Then it would drop back down in the 70s-80s for awhile then once my ketone levels would start rising my blood glucose levels would start going back up again. So my theory is once your liver starts producing glucogen it over produces it driving your fasting and average glucose levels up and your pancreas quits producing as much insulin so you have to eat high glycemic meal on occasion to get your pancreas working at full capacity. Ive largely become a glucose burner because of it. I was pre diabetic and so its more important to me to have low fasting and A1C than to rrmain in ketosis all the time. The irony is i fight staying out of ketosis even eating high carb meals on occasion. I just try to keep it all balanced with things like carrots and beets daily because im not going down the fruit or honey daily route.

One doctor who specializes in low-carb diets explain that carnivore diet put insulin So low that if they eat too much protein which converts to glucose they do not have enough insulin to deal with it. He tells his carnivore patience to add dairy such as milk and yogurt so that they have a slightly higher insulin response. This is why I prefer a balanced ketogenic diet. You're keeping your insulin respond slow but still eating enough vegetables, berries etc to produce a smaller amount of insulin.

I see similar results that seem counter intuitive. I believe the body senses the lack of calories coming in and goes into a survival mode and slows metabolism and gives the body more glucose for energy to find the next meal. I have gone to rolling fasts to provoke this response as I think it uses stored glycogen in the liver (fatty liver) for that glucose. It also seems to spike inflammation as toxins also get stored along with it hence the limited time fasts.

If you eat minimal carbs and your blood sugar is high, you are not eating minimal carbs. You must cut out your carbs.
If you actually don't eat carbs and your blood sugar is high, it means you need to increase your saturated fat intake. Lean protein increases blood sugar and by adjusting your protein to fat ratio, it will rectify the issue.
Don't ever go plant based and you must incude regular physical rigour into your routine.

If I were in your position I'd shoot for 25/75 ratio. Not medical advice of course but diabetes is called chronic for a reason...it's an advancing disease. But before changing one's diet from keto to vegetarian in one shot (quite a shock to the gut) I would add a few more carbs while keeping a close eye on brain fog and mood. And a leisurely stroll is not going to cut it! Absolutely stepping up the pace is beneficial, but so is strength training. My blood sugar runs 120. But my insulin is low. HOMA IR about 1.0
This state is called Physiological Insulin resistance. Your body isn’t concerned until you eat. When you eat you will see you post prandial numbers drop.
Your body is supremely intelligent. It conserves glucose for the brain and runs high. People like us are insulin resistant at the level of the muscle.
Our muscles prefer to run on fat and thus say no to blood glucose of 120. Only when we eat does it Glucose DROP instead on going up.

55 minutes exercise, push ups daily and staying active throughout the day can keep sugar level in check.
Also, prescription combination metformin, Glipizide in case u plan to eat crepe, waffles, cake etc, statins, Pantoprazole is really good, this prescription combination does not work for lazy people.
Staying active throughout the day, waking up early is essential. Exercise cycle in bedroom is extremely helpful in bringing down sugar level after meals.
broccoli 🥦 is the best fiber and should be part of the salad. Regular fiber intake keeps sugar level in control.
Not staying active & not exercising on a daily basis is not an option.

@@Chris-vt6nl really? Pasta is just suger. How do you not know this? Your body quickly converts the starches to glucose. If you have type 2 diabetes ( which is high blood suger, period) then stop putting carbohydrates into your body. Glycaemic index has nothing to do with it. Its the presence of glucose itself that causes the problem. Over time this results in hyper insulinimia, insulin resistence and then full blown diabetes when the pancreas craps out and cannot produce enough insulin to jam away the glucose. The cure for type 2 diabetes is to STOP eating carbohydrates. Period. Your liver will make all the glucose the body and brain need. The absolute worst diet for diabetics or pre diabetics is a mixed macro diet of both starches and fat. Think pasta with cream sauce ...Alfredo. or any other mixed macro meal. The body will shut down access to the cell ( insulin resistence) because it is already full of either fat or glucose and stops more energy ( especially glucose) from entering, because glucose is poison to the mitochondria at high levels. When the cell is full it shuts the door to both fat and glucose. This is called the Randle cycle and is a protective mechanism of the body. It would rather sacrifice the blood cells and epithelium of the blood vessels than have the cells in the musckes, liver or brain die. Blood cells and epithelial cells turn over quickly. There's a reason your body immediately surges with insulin to store away glucose. It's dangerous at high levels. Its how we evolved. Eating meat. Glucose glycates blood cells and pretty much every protien in the body. You have 1 teaspoon of glucose in your blood at any one time. For a reason. Repeated activation of insulin and the randke cycle is what causes insulin resistence and type 2 diabetes. It is curable in 80% of cases if you catch it early and the pancreas hasn't crapped out. Look up Dr Stephen Phinney or Dr Jason Fund for a deeper understanding of these issues. They are prolific on youtube. All carbs are glucose, period. Does that answer your question?

I've found the only thing that lowers my blood sugar is extremely low carb, and only one meal a day.
But I simply cannot manage going that long without eating. Especially mornings at work. Feeling hungry makes it hard to concentrate. And I feel weak, like I hit a wall where I can't function.
    So I'm struggling.
Exercise? I tore my hamstrings off my right ischial protuberance, so it's very difficult to even walk. Short walks are doable, but suddenly, I find my leg goes weak. So it can be hard to get back home.
I've been looking into the gut microbiome. Recent research is very exciting, as it shows a fecal transplant from a naturally thin, non-diabetic person, put into a diabetic can lower fasting blood glucose over twice as much as Metformin.
Of course, getting a fecal transplant is difficult... but there are things I can do to foster better gut biome health. First - raw, organic, homegrown greens, and homemade sauerkraut. Second - stop all artificial sweeteners. Third - get to bed by 9 p.m.

The only comfortable way of being high carb low fat from what i see is if you need to do intermittent fasting so you can easily switch fuel back and forth. Otherwise it will be very uncomfortable as the body will crave sugar like any addiction would. You can’t lose fat easily if you can’t get into fat burning mode even if you expended your glucose stored, which could be a days worth of calories. That in itself would cause stress.

    • @asherasator
      @asherasator 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

There is no such thing as "Insulin Resistance". Only "You eat more than you use!". It's a gluttony disease. The current "Normal" adult glucose numbers are idealistic, not realistic.
In children glucose levels 180-200 are "normal" and diabetes is not diagnosed until over 250. The same was for adults. The medical system changed it so they can diagnose almost anybody "Diabetic" under certain conditions. And obviously sell more products and services.

Light signalling is huge. Blue light suppresses melatonin in the pineal. Gut melatonin sometimes is to low but amino acids resolve this issue.
The light signalling science has been bastardized by the glasses industry. We need blue light during daylight hours (from the sun aka daylight) to keep hormones ticking in the correct order. The alternative community designed red glasses and this too is an error… eyes not designed to look thru red.
PS blue light also affect skin receptors. Skin also sends signals to the brain.
