The original V2 has been my favorite dropper posts because it's stack height and adjustable travel allows me to run the absolute longest drop on my frame.
Gotta admit, the flat pedals I bought from them are freakin' spectacular and were priced half of how they perform. Fell in love with the brand immediately.
Love my V2. I don't really know why the saddle positioning bolt situation hasn't been redesigned yet for something better though lol. I hate adjusting saddle position.
This is a solid shout. I think the Loam is a difficult one up (pun intended). I really like the tool less/part less travel adjustment on the Loam. On paper there's a 59g difference for a 34.9 200/210mm dropper with a price difference of $70 dollars. That's more than the cost of a wolf tooth dropper lever. Reliability/durability is subjective depending on crash/ usage frequency. Would be interested in cost/ease of serviceability and areas that could justify that price difference. PNW has a lifetime warranty, ONEup is 2 years. My loam has been faultless for 2 years and I'm sure the OneUp is as well but $70 can go a long way for other things. Curious to say the least.
The Loam is so good. Never ever worry about it not returning all the way. That's my biggest fear going back to a cartridge type dropper. I like the sound of the OneUp in terms of weight and length though.
Not sure why it doesn't get as much love on the internet, but the wolftooth dropper has been by far the best dropper post experience that i've had when compared to the V2 oneup and manic x-fusion. (Though the manic is incredible for the price imo)
I got the V2 version on my Specialized Stevo and its badass can't complain. I'll upgrade down the road, I don't think I will feel any difference anyways!
The new cartridge isn't air adjustable? I kind of like that. Been well pleased with my V2 version and would probably consider the V3 (definitely over a PNW.)
I agree however, the driver won’t be innovation, it will be necessity. Companies have devalued their current offering so why would anyone buy said products at MSRP?
I am riding the V2 210mm for about 2 years. Yes, it has a play, but it does not rattle. All the maintenance I had to do is wipe it with a rag... sometimes I spray a touch of silicone (automotive) on a rag and clean it with that. Realistically, the more the travel the more extra unwanted movement you are going to have. My ebike has a SDG Tellis. Zero movement, but it's 150mm. That's not enough for my height on my normal bike. I might just order one of these. 240mm travel :O is crazy...
I was thinking the same thing lol. I also wonder if the upper bushing binding when slammed all the way into the frame was fixed or not. Im guessing not though based off of the glossy finish up towards the top of the tube.
Good question. The Revive on my Ibis DV9 has zero play front-back or side-to-side, is very quick (makes a very satisfying pop), extraordinarily smooth, has a low startup threshold, and the only service it has required in about 500 hours has been one quick no-tool ‘revive’, which takes less than 30 seconds. And the lever is by far better than either the PNW and Wolf Tooth levers I’ve had. The Bike Yoke is more expensive, to be sure, but is the Oneup close enough in all of these features that the price difference makes any shortfall forgivable?
Are they now available ? Didn’t see it online, I need anew internal dropper as I’ve been on olllld ass frames w only external droppers and… well i got duck tape over that seat tube hole right now probably be cooler bike with an actual internal dropper, I just got a one up dropper lever ( so small and nice) so I obv need this v3… the v2 is on sale buuuuuuut hahahhahaha
We think we like this lever feel better initially…but it’s gonna take quite a bit of time to test the durability claims and see how the fore/aft play feels and if any side to side play ever develops.
@@TheLoamWolfHow about the seat feel? I used to have a 180 Oneup V2 but decided against getting it for my new bike, since it wasn't smooth at all when pushing down, unless you made sure to be parallel, plus the aforementioned play, I didn't notice the side to side, every post has it really, but the fore-aft movement was annoying, not really in the way that I could feel it, but because I could hear it knocking when riding with the seat up momentarily. Now on a Bikeyoke Divine, while the lever feel is not the smoothest out there, the post itself is really smooth no matter the conditions, imo there is no getting around the low bushing overlap a "lowest stack height on the market" requires, that's what results in all the issues I mentioned. Depends what your priorities are, but for me an expensive product should feel premium in use. Plus the "non serviceable" cartridge is a nuisance to me really, the old one could be rebuilt actually, believe it or not, I did rebuild mine once it got slightly saggy after 2 years, but the new one lost the Schrader valve and seems to be crimped shut, so that's no longer the case, for me that's a bit of a deal breaker, I don't like unnecessarily disposable products.
It’s a silver coil ring that keeps the wiper seal tight wrapped around the stanchion, kinda like a mouth wrapped around a stiff cock in a BBBJ situation.
I'm not actually all that happy with my V2 dropper. Seems like I'm the only one. When riding in the dirt/mud it doesn't return as fast anymore. It becomes super slow because it gets stuck. Anyone get this problem?
Do you still need to lift your ass from the saddle, press the lever and only then you can push it down like on the v2 or does this version go down if you press the lever while sitting on it?
That's strange, I've been running the V2 on 3 of my personal bikes for years, and have installed them on both my sister's and an exgirlfriend's bike, and none of them have this strange issue, of needing to lift your ass before lowering the saddle, that you are describing. Is it possible that you have a defective unit, a strange kink in the cable somewhere, or maybe a certain type of frame that has the seat tube at a really slack angle?
No dropper should have what you're describing. You're making it sound like this was an issue with the V2 in general when it sound like an issue with your V2
I installed Oneup v2 droppers on my two bikes. Reliable, easy to use and service. Don’t see any good reasons to upgrade to v3 atm, maybe when I buy another bike)
User reviews says his 2 year old blown up Fox Transfer still felt better than his new Oneup V2. Someone else who upgraded from V2 to V3 says V3 still feels worse than the old Fox Transfer.
I had V1 once and it was fine. Now I own V2, and honestly I'm not going to buy V3, bc V2 is terrible! It works, but has this constant rattle play few hours after the service. Grease gets lose from under the seal easily.
That's all well and nice for full-sus bikes, but as a hardtail enjoyer, for me the additional damping of the PNW Coast Dropper, means it's still superior on hardtails, and unfortunately appears to still have ZERO competition.
@@jasper_of_puppets Don't knock it 'til you try it. When it's down and out of the way, you get a nimble responsive hardtail you can mess around on, but when it's up and you have to spend some time sitting on the saddle just pedaling, it takes the edge off of small roots and bumps. What amazes me is that the Coast is the ONLY suspension dropper on the market. Thankfully it's from PNW and it's pretty good, but still.
@@usernamefromhellthat doesn’t sound too bad. I just put the PNW Rainier post with a loam lever on my old Trek Superfly (27.2mm seatpost, not a lot of them around either) and it is a game changer. Build quality is so good
You think it won't sell? Listed as $269 USD or $365 CAD on their site...more expensive than V2 but still competitive with every other post (and less than a lot of them)
The original V2 has been my favorite dropper posts because it's stack height and adjustable travel allows me to run the absolute longest drop on my frame.
add easy service and mostly reliable = i love the v2. curious to see how the v3 holds up over time.
And the best bit of the V3? The V2 has dropped in price 😁
Side benefit is that the V2 posts are on sale now haha
Way to look at the brighter side!
Yes! Hopefully it doesn’t acquire the rotational knock noise that the V2 had. I had to go to oversize bushings before I even had it for a year.
Looks like a very well designed post, would love to see it compared to the PNW Loam dropper
Great suggestion!

Because of the price compared to others
How about a follow up on how you like this seatpost after a full riding season?
Seems like this is a direct competitor to the Wolftooth Resolve, albeit at a much more friendly price point.
I got the V2 version on my Specialized Stevo and its badass can't complain. I'll upgrade down the road, I don't think I will feel any difference anyways!

2024 is going to be the year of bike innovation.

Do you think the lighter lever action is because of the new actuator?

Im super happy they made this, I just bought a v2 90 bucks cheaper on sale.
I can not ride anything but their 240, such a game changer for me
It’s seriously good for the long-leggers. Thanks for sharing
Long legged Mac daddy club here too
do the pins still slam into the upper bushing and destroy the upper bushing?
I was thinking the same thing lol. I also wonder if the upper bushing binding when slammed all the way into the frame was fixed or not. Im guessing not though based off of the glossy finish up towards the top of the tube.

new it was a good idea to wait for the v3
Looks to be a good one.
It’s light. Thats good if it stays reliable. The V2 is a decent post.

Thanks! They’re in our web store if you’d like to support the cause and look good doing it! Haha 😉👍

How does it compare to fox droppers? Looking for a new dropper.
We will let you know as soon as we have enough time on it!
How does it compare to a bike yoke revive?
That has had the best feel in my opinion

I wish OneUp would have changed the white/silver ring around the top, and just made it all black. The V2 has it as well. Is it a metal ring?

Drew! Long time...how have you been?
The two longest sizes are actually 5mm longer than V2

Not sure that less robust seat rail/post weld is going to handle heavier riders.💯✌️
We shall see
Liked my V2 ok but not in the same league as Bike Yoke.
I’ll take one in wireless

Did I spy Lewis brakes on the project Levo? Can’t wait to see that review!

I’ll stick with my tried and true but heavier Fox Transfer. Ridiculously overbuilt.
Don't do it. Worst decision you'll ever make in your life.
High performance doesn’t have to cost more, but they are charging more…
$367 with remote , before tax
Mic drop
Hopefully the mic did not sustain any damage. Need it for the v4 next year
😂
My v2 rattles like crazy, guidelines to solve the issue per oneup is adding electrical tape 😂
Cartridge is not servicable...it is replaceable.
2 weeks after I buy a new dropper, one up to boot, and now this? 💩
Isn’t that always how it goes!! 🤦♂️
Don't feel too bad. I bought a new set of pedals and grips the day before OneUp put all that on sale last year...
315$, before tax? lol. good luck.

Everything will sell eventually, I’m just saying it’s high. I have missed the CAD part, so it’s more reasonable.
Not worth the price mtb they rip the consumer off
