Scott was 4:2:Five's first beatboxer. When he left to go for an acting career, Layne wanted to do the beatboxing and gave up his baritone while Geoff started him off on his beatboxing career. Layne took it and ran with it never looking back. Scott is in Just Sing which VoicePlay did when covid ended touring. They brought on all the former members, competitors, guest artists, etc. and all of it done over Zoom. If you check out VP's Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, Rek makes a cameo bringing a sub sandwich to the guys as they are singing around a glowing trash can. I'm so glad you did this one and took the time for them to let all of us know about their dear friend.

Scott was on a hit TV show called Friday Night Lights about American High School football. I had no idea how well he could sing until he just finished as the runner-up on the Masked Singer. He was great! I hope he continues to do more with Voice Play.
I knew it was him the first time he sang 😅
I think Layne said that the video editing was much harder than he thought it would be. Geoff hit his first B0 in this one.
I'm very old and not a gamer, but I have learned from reactors like you the sense of community that exists in that world.
The @Halo franchise and the composer of the theme music both watched the video and commented. The composer was also with the Charismatic Voice when she reacted to it.
The fact that they did this tribute just shows what great men they are. Scott was their original beatboxer, he came out from Hollywood where he is a successful actor to do this.
Did you know Scott was just runner up on the Masked Singer?

This is a really good one from VoicePlay.
I was a Scott Porter fan from the tv show “Hart of Dixie”, so I knew could sing. It was much later I found out he was in 4:2:Five, before it became Voice Play.
But I didn’t know how well Scott could sing until he was on The Masked Singer.
Scott does voices on a lot of video games.
This is the first time Geoff went down to B0.
Rek passed in 2021. Shortly after Voiceplay did this video.
Rek did a cameo in their "Boy Bands In 5 Minutes" video handing Earl a sandwich.
The creator of Halo watched this with The Charismatic Voice - Elizabeth. He said it was better than the original. He was very impressed.
I personally never heard of Halo until this video. Even though ive been a gamer since Commadore came out. Then Atari. I didnt play Xbox until 2015.

I'd say this is in my top ten, but that's not entirely accurate. Really, it's a standalone, in a class by itself, for SO MANY reasons. But I adore it. It is, truly, EPIC! 💙
Layne did the arrangement for this one. He also filmed, directed and did the editing.
Rek was primarily a graphic artist and did many of their album covers. He also assisted with their video shoots and sometimes made and posted Behind the Scene videos of their shoots. (Kathy Castellucci has taken that over now)
