Marty O'Donnell, the composer, actually appeared on Elizabeth's channel, Charismatic Voice, to react to this personally. It's a do-not-miss, he's absolutely charming.
He is very charming and super down-to-earth. I really loved hearing his opinion on the cover. 😊
Scott was their original beatboxer. Layne took over from him when he headed to Hollywood to become a very successful actor.
Voiceplay always pays homage to the original, but will always put their own touch.

Remember to watch to the end! Scott was VoicePlay's first beatboxer. I was surprised that you recognized Scott - from where you? I knew him from Lucifer season 6.
I didn't know the game or song so came in without preconceptions and I really adore their cover.
Every time I listen to Scott's comments at the end I get choked up.
Rek can be seen briefly in their video Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. He walks across the screen and passes off a sandwich when the guys are standing warming their hands around the fire

Voiceplay and Geoff have several songs from video games. "Still Alive" from Portal, "Sleeping In The Cold Below" from Warframe, Geoff does "Unshaken" from Red Dead Redemption 2, and I feel like I'm missing one or two, I'm not that awake yet. But they're all excellent.
