The SOUND Sonata had back then was so interesting. It gave these songs an aura, something else.
This song is all about band members' complicated relationship with alcohol back in early 2000s. I remember that I have read it somewhere said by Tony himself

Beautiful sad ballad. Perfect song after a heavy break up with someone.
And tony's singing was peak in this era.
I think the "redlight burning in your soul" line is connected to him calling her a whore. Amsterdam have a famous location for prostitution called the red light district, and I have always interpreted the line in the song as her sleeping around unable to stop because she has "redlight" (being promiscuous) in her soul.

This song really resonated with me at some point, mainly the line "Time will show, the last word is for me", at a point I was a bit too focused on a girl that choose otherwise and the more I thought it didn't bother me the more it did, and having to be near her almost everyday I felt that way, I wanted to be cold with her but I couldn't and would recall that line and one day the last word would be mine. Gladly it didn't get to the point of the song. Now, seeing more than 10 years in the future, it is funny how some songs fully adequate to some moments, sometimes more than would be healthy. And nice you keep going through Sonata songs. This song and My Selene were my two favorite songs from them for quite a while

IMO, these are all-time great works of the genre (hard rock, metal, prog/power metal, whatever) in terms of vocals, melodic composition, and unconventionally wholehearted lyrics.
