An a cappella group could never do Metalli........never mind. VoicePlay. Dang, these guys are going to kill me this year. Geoff said that Eli kinda went off script on the highs--it wasn't how he wrote it. This can't be topped. (never said that before) They have VoiLayne shirts with their other merch now too. Their next one is about as far away from this as you can get.

Oh, and in case you weren't told yet, when they all scream before Layne's violin solo, the highest pitch is actually Cesar, not Elli. You can hear Ellie's rock tenor too.

I've been waiting for your reaction to this one. I had to see your reaction to the return of Violayne. 😁 I've only seen one other VoicePlay video where he reveals this side of his musicality, and that was back in the days of Earl. I'd say you don't get much better than this, but you know they're just going to one up themselves again with the next one...
I was waiting for this reaction & you ladies did not disappoint! Probably my favorite of theirs too. If you want to hear more of Layne (& JNone) playing violin watch their cover of Warriors. So worth it.
I've mentioned Warriors to Kaz before, but left out the J. None and VioLayne part... Didn't want to spoil the surprise. But now they've seen VioLayne... Now go see him play along with J. "None other like him". 🤣

But there's a plucking at the beginning, and a clear riff he plays in the middle that are enough to demonstrate he knows what he's doing with it. 🤪 VioLayne is the man, but there's still enough of J. None to show he's got some skills. I wasn't the only one who noticed, as you can see, my comment was in reply to someone else. 😁

This is the reactor breaker. Across the board, it has broken just about every reactor who's watched it. It really is an amazing cover, though, and I'm beyond thrilled that JNone managed to join them for it. He looks... so different to me. Like, I can tell it is JNone, but you can also... kind of tell that he's now in the military, y'know? XD
I think it's the lack of facial hair. Just my personal observation after thinking about since this video premiered on Patreon. 😆

You two reacting to this was just what I needed after a long, bad day at work. I think we all felt the same way as you the first time hearing this even if we didn't throw things. This is definitely Voiceplay's best work and seriously Grammy level arranging by Geoff. VioLayne was just what was needed to turn a great arrangement into legendary. This arrangement is so complex- I’ve gone through it a few times, trying to listen well to the separate parts (Ed Boyer is still a freaking genius, but the individual tracks had to be really tight and clean even before he got them). It’s too easy to let the song do what is intended- immerse you.
They took a beautifully written and recorded song and gave it an incredible twist. You two were the reaction I’ve been waiting for- I think what is special about you both is how legitimately sensitive you are to music. And you share that with us for joy.
