I just bought the 2018 LX Coupe Honda Civic. 6 speed standard. I fucking love it. It is currently 3:00am where I live and I'm wanting to go out for a drive with it again. Lol. Best fucking car I've ever driven and I love it way more than my old car. Cannot wait to drive it again tomorrow. I did not sleep much last night because of how excited I was to get it. Gonna have it for a long time.
I drove one of those at work, and the cup holders are in the way of the shifter. The car owner had left a 64 ounce big gulp in the drivers side cup holder, and I switched the position with the other cup which helped a bit.
yes I have one and it is super annoying. I used to take a Yeti cup with ice to work everyday but ive since had to switch to bottled water because I cannot stand shifting when there is a cup there
Another reason it doesn't sound like a Honda anymore: it no longer has the "alarm clock" chime. You know, BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP Heresy, I say!
I agree, I just test drove one a few hours ago, has a very deep and throaty sound and vibe to it, very satisfying to drive. Very VW GTI'esque sounding. I was impressed, not mind bending fast, but not slow either, just a great EDD. I found that if you wanted to have a more spirited drive, you'd have to keep the revs up obviously to keep the turbo spooled, or be in the right gear and then it can be very peppy and fast....if you off a gear or two, it doesn't have a whole lot of torque to compensate and pull you out, but still descent. it has this weird rev hang though....not sure what that was about. Anyone else notice this?
I've noticed you said that the stock tires on this car aren't good. Are tires like Michelin defender or Michelin primacy tires good upgrades from the stock firestone tires?
Thinking of buying a used 2017 Ex-t 6 spd. I’m also considering a 2019 Lx 6 spd or SI. Did you have any issues with oil dilution like the CRVs? I like the new lx but don’t wanna miss out on the extra power. Can’t stand the look of the si but might just bite that bullet. Would you buy the ex -t again?
At first, I thought this is the other POV channel ^^ But it's good video , driving a stick shift!! BTW, how do you got the analog clock on the display screen?
Very nice thanks for sharing. Can't wait to get this civic in Germany. I'm currently driving a 2011 FK2. I have one question: how powerful is the engine while driving in town with a high gear, let's say 6th gear at 30mph. Does the turbo generate enough torque or do you need at least 1.500rpm?
+BerGaMont925 If you're below 1500 rpm, it's okay. Not too quick but not a huge slouch either. Once you cross over 1800, there's a pretty decent surge of torque.
how many miles per gallon are you getting i just bought the 2017 civic ex and im only getting 11 mpg i was told by the dealership this is normal on a new car but not buying it
Import Car Enthusiast I'm sorry, I thought this was the hatchback. I'm in the process of buying the hatch sport, but that's the last trim they offer with a manual
You shift really early in the rev range? Why is that?Kinda wanted to see the potential of the car at when it has peak torque and horsepower. Also looking into getting one of these same trim with the manual. Love all your other videos though, especially the ones on your older Civic Si.
+LifeofZain Well, for one, we were getting freezing rain. More importantly though, I wanted to show how the car drives in normal commuting. Near the end of the video, I started to push it harder (but again, I was somewhat limited by the weather).
why in such a hurry to change gears under 2000 rpm, why not around 3000 rpm? yes at some point you go on a highway and rpm it to 5000 rpm, but in this case you are at two extremes, one below 2000 rpm and one above 4000 rpm, why not have a realistic rpm around 3000 ? I am disappointed by the video.
When you don’t actually drive the coupe how it’s meant to be driven. Going same speed as everyone else. You get on the freeway floor it🤣my 18 Focus ST will smoke your car🤣
When you can't afford one and come to youtube to see people drive one. =(
Yup...
Same here.

Finally honda made a nice looking civic inside-out. I like it.
Manual Transmission will make you a better driver. I like the video and the car.
Another awesome video Matt!!!
+Your Honda Man Thanks, Edward!

+Blake T I have shifting when there's drinks in the cupholder lol. You have to do this weird reach-around thing with your arm and it's super annoying.

I love the handling on this car. It takes turns really well with little body roll. Plus, it will last longer than a non-import.
Best interior 😀
Nice video Matt, it reminded me of how much I don't miss driving in a cold, icy climate.
It doesn't sound like a honda anymore, kinda like it though. has almost a boxer rumble to me or I'm just imagining it
+Hunter Jackson It reminds me of the 1.8T in the Jetta and some other VAG products.
Another reason it doesn't sound like a Honda anymore: it no longer has the "alarm clock" chime.
You know, BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP - BEEBEEBEEBEEP
Heresy, I say!
That chime has been gone lmao

Sardonic1981 rev hang for better emissions control. Necessary evil now.
The chime scared the shit out of me when I bought this Honda............
I love your drive videos man!!
Really smooth manual driving. Nice job.
I thought the 1.5t didn't come w the 6 speed. lol now I like it even more.
+Ray Bee It didn't for 2016, but they're offering it now. I was among the first to get one.

After watching all of your videos, I bit the bullet and picked up an 2017 coupe ex-t Manual. Loving it! Please keep making the great videos!
+James Grange Awesome! Glad to hear you're enjoying the new car. I'm definitely going to keep making videos of mine.
Hi, how did you select clock wallpaper? I am trying to do the same. It does not go to home page.
Please stop rocking the gear lever.
Why shift sooo fast like that? It would be great to hear the engine sound a bit
Looking for an LX or EX model in a manual. I hope to find one... it's hard.
I've noticed you said that the stock tires on this car aren't good. Are tires like Michelin defender or Michelin primacy tires good upgrades from the stock firestone tires?
+Randy Norton Defenders are okay. I'm not crazy about them personally. Primacy MXM4s are pretty good. I had those on my Accord Coupe.
I would say an upgrade would be Michelin Pilots

Thanks!! And from the home screen, hit the Info button. I think its a digital clock by default, but in the settings, you can change to analog.
Did you get to work on time?
This is filmed in my town
+CLUTCH Gaming East Peoria?
Import Car Enthusiast Morton?
+CLUTCH Gaming Yeah. I filmed some parts in Morton and some in East Peoria
Awesome, wish you went faster so we can see how the cvt works and sound in high speed, awesome video.
+Moraes FBPA what CVT?
sorry, this is manual xD, i've been watching too many civic videos lately
How you like the car . Speed ?
Very nice thanks for sharing.

What was that making the wipers noisy. Did it seriously form ice on the windshield while driving.
+Silverio Arroyo Yep, that's ice
What remote control came with the car 5 buttons(with remote start) or 4 (without remote start) ?
Alan Guevara you can't have remote start with the manual car
how many miles per gallon are you getting i just bought the 2017 civic ex and im only getting 11 mpg i was told by the dealership this is normal on a new car but not buying it
+veronica dolan I usually get low 30s
are you goin to do flashpro?
+16ValveVtec Probably not. I'd like to get the reflash done though.
Import Car Enthusiast reflash 😂
Hold up, is this in the U.S? You can't buy a 6 speed ex in the U.S sadly
+jamie F Yes you can. For 2017+ they offer the EX-T with a manual in the sedan and coupe.
Import Car Enthusiast I'm sorry, I thought this was the hatchback. I'm in the process of buying the hatch sport, but that's the last trim they offer with a manual
How do you downshift? Do you rev match?
+ChefMarc I try to match the revs as closely as I can
Import Car Enthusiast so you don't rev match? Do you use your brakes as you shift down the gears?
+ChefMarc Yes I do use the brakes.
+ChefMarc Yes I do use the brakes.
Que version es tu auto.?
says it right in the video description, fam
Granny shifting:(
You kind of lose reliability with the turbo , I’m trying to find videos of someone test driving a civic lx with the manual
hatchback?
+Saurav Dubey Nope, sedan
Now if we could teach you how to drive a stick!
+motoklx What do I need to improve on?

looks like your wipers are working like crap window is all dirty
+Bobby Knight It was icy that day, and the rain just froze to the window
lol relax bobby
got to have good wipers!!!!

It's a good tactic for commuter driving, if you are trying to emphasize fuel economy.
wtf, it sounds like my father's Laguna III 2.0 dCi :| Honda, what happened to you?
When you don’t actually drive the coupe how it’s meant to be driven. Going same speed as everyone else. You get on the freeway floor it🤣my 18 Focus ST will smoke your car🤣
