      eyesrightout blame it on there being like zero driving schools that will teach you manual.

      I taught myself how to drive a manual on an old Saab Turbo that was practically handed to me in the late 90's. I have had no real urge to ever go back to driving automatics again. It's become one of the biggest deciding factors for me when purchasing a new vehicle. If it doesn't have a 6spd stick, I don't want it, and those fake "flappy paddle" CVT transmissions are ridiculous as well. Someone else can have it, give me a nice manual.

      sic22l the Golf is also made of plastic. It's not like they use carbon and gold for the interior

    • @sic22l
      @sic22l 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Golf's interior is made of good quality soft plastic. Honda used a lot of hard scratchy plastics. It may make no difference in the US but it's a serious downgrade in Europe - our previous gen has lovely, very high quality interior.

    The problem with the current turbo Civics is the excessively heavy flywheel. Clearly, they are expecting most people to get CVTs with these. On the other hand, the high-winding 2.0 base motor should be pretty nice.

    would anyone recommend this car for a first time Manual driver? i mean i saw this at an auto show in all black and i fell in love with it the second i got inside. so im curious if this car is truly worth the bang for the buck?

    • @BigJoeFlow
      @BigJoeFlow 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sam Wilson I own the the limited edition 2017 honda civic hatchback sport. And while this is my second vehicle, it is a very smooth ride. It shifts pretty well although it took some getting used to. My vehicle previous was a ford 2door explorer sport handed down from my grandfather. Just alone the height difference was enough to throw me off until I found my way around with my civic. I love my car and definitely would recommend it to people however, 1. Being a first timer I myself would much rather tear up an older clunker so to say than a new car but that is all up to the belief in ones ability driving and shifting etc. ect. 2. I would recommend for future reference not to buy “NEW” cars. The moment a new car leaves the lot a nice chunk deprecated. used cars with low miles is the way to go the last owner already went through the depreciation so the car will be cheaper. My civic I have used and I got a beautiful deal. It is limited which it does have a turbo. When I purchased it it only had 6,854 miles so it was “new used” the owner got it waiting on another car to come out then traded it. It is a lower ride but ultimately with everything I got I’d say it’s definitely worth the money. I’m paying about $26K which to me is a nice chunk but again definitely worth it in my opinion. Great city car I can (off of eco mode) get up to around 130ish in 6th gear of course i don’t go out racing people often. I am going to upgrade it as I go but I see myself in this car for a very long time. It is a beautiful car and it has some nice torque. Hope this helps!!! 10/10 would recommend

      The way the gearing works on these is by the time you rev out in 2 you're at or above the speed limit on surface streets. I usually go from 2 to 4 because i don't need any gas from 3.

    should i get this or the si?

    • @SK-lt1so
      @SK-lt1so 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drove both and went for the practicality of the hatchback. Both drove well-smooth, corner well. The difference in hp wasn't noticeable at typical, day to day driving speeds.
      The Si sat low, and the moon-roof brought the ceiling close to your head, so the Si felt less spacious. It had very good horizontal space in the trunk. The Si has heated seats, mirrors, and the full infotainment system. The LX hatchback I bough has only the basic infotainment system.
      If you like the sedan style, I'd go for the Si-if they had a hatchback Si , I would have bought it. But the hatchback is a hoot to drive, the build quality is excellent, it feels very spacious inside. On long highway drives, I can get 40+MPG.
      I wouldn't regret either buying either one.

    • @rootsmanuva82

      It could be a dual mass flywheel too. Though my MINI has a DMF and the revs don't hang at all. I'm Not sure if Honda chose a heavy flywheel or tuned the throttle to hang onto the revs... either way, it's really annoying!

For $25 K You cant go wrong it handles great for a larger car and is very quick. I would like to have gps, sunroof and push button start but i have not seen any accord thats stick with those options. I will never own a CVT transmission car after what happened with our Nissan. Thinking about trading my rare sport for an audi S4 or STI so its for sale. No door dings or road rash.
