So I noticed on other push start vehicles there is a cover behind the steering wheel that you can use to start your vehicle with of your push start isn’t working. Do these Honda’s have that type of feature?

Thank you! I've been driving Civics for 30 Years. Never had an issue with the 8 vehicles I've had over that period of time. Only had to replace a wheel bearing and I never had to replace the brakes since 1997; tires the most. The most mileage I've had on one of them was over 100,000kms after 5 yrs. I now drive a 2019 Civic.

Watching this video makes me realize how wonderfully simple my 05 Civic is.
My daughter has and 06 with 220,000 miles. Staying away from 16-20 Civics. 12 to 15s seem less techy.
@@robertstv8045 My mom had an 06 that she sold at around 130K and it was a pretty good car. It had far more problems than my 05, but most of the problems were covered under warranty and it never left us stranded. My 05 has 254K miles on it right now and I am never getting rid of it, that's the car I grew up in and the car that got me into fixing and modding cars. The fact that I have the ability to fix whatever goes wrong myself without needing to pay a mechanic to fix it makes keeping an older car a practical option for me.
@@averyalexander2303 Cool. My daughter is selling her O6. Told her stay clear of 16-20 with CVTs, Turbos and lots of tech. 12-15s are still auto trans and a nice step up from 2006-11s.

The easter egg should just have been a bonus, I just figured out a week ago that you can actually adjust the brightness of your dash if you twist the dash knob, you know, where you press the Trip A/Trip B button.
They all surprised me, but then i drive a 2012 coupe. Have had no exposure to a 2016 until this vid. nice job Honda and nice demonstration.

Great video, Jason - lots of very useful tips. I spend way too much time on the CivicX forum so I knew all of these except for the tach removal and the extra instrument panel icons. I'll have to check out that average speed option and will probably remove other icons that I don't use for quicker navigation. Thanks for the tips.
This is our 4th civic, last one we drove it for around 16/17 years without any issues, bought 2018 civic and seems that they just keep making this cars consistently reliable, very happy with it and thanks for your video.....I just changed the skin, didn't know how to do it 👍

Another cool feature is that if your remote battery dies, all you need to do is use the key to get in, and to start the car simply hold the remote close to the start button and the car will recognize it and start the car, so there's no need to carry around a spare battery, which is a great feature!

Same here lol
every single push button car regardless of manufacturer will have the backup key. That way you can unlock the car in the event of a total power failure (dead battery). The key also releases the shift lever if your car needs to be towed and it has a dead battery. For the 16-newer civic, open the center console and feel the wall facing the shifter. When you locate the little hole, stick your key in there and at the same time, grab your shifter and move it into neutral. **Obviously this only refers to automatics**

Outdated. Kitkat is the 4.0 version of android while the current version is 6.0

Hey Jason. Make sure tell your viewers about the 2016 to 2018 AC problem. I did some reading and found out I and thousands of loyal honda civic buyer got screw with the AC blowing hot air, while still under 3 years warranty or expired warranty. There is an class action lawsuit on this big issue. Your review on the 10th gen civic gave me the green light and made the purchase. I am regretting it now

when stopped, if you swipe down from the top you'll get the android menu like on a phone or tablet

Finally I'm here, watching this video because I have just bought a 2019 Honda Civic. Years spent looking at it and waiting this day
I think the 2018 Accord will be based on this car because Honda is going to integrate their whole lineup into one platform...pretty amazing. Last time I checked, the Accord was always 1 step ahead of the Civic in terms of body styling (9th Civic sharing styling cues from the 8th Accord and so forth). This is probably the reason the current Civic is doing so well with critics.

You can also just tap and hold anywhere on a blank part of the home screen to change the wallpaper.
I just figured out a week ago that you can actually adjust the brightness of your dash if you twist the dash knob, you know, where you press the Trip A/Trip B button. I keep lashing out why my parent’s CR-V automatically has their brightness lowered when it’s nighttime while mine is always on full brightness all the time.

You can also disable the color bar above the speedo/tach that indicates fuel economy. You can set it to a constant color in the System Settings.

Kinda sucks though, they used the lowest amount of ram so it can lag at times. That's at least my experience with my Civic, idk about the Accords or other Hondas

One of my favorite features is the active grill shutters which operate without user in put and helps mpg and acceleration by improving drag. Most people won't even notice ir is working but is a cool tech feature

why the extra process to use the key to roll up the windows, would've been easier for Honda to program the LOCK function on the key fob...

You just taught me something new about the sunroof on my 2010 TSX. I didn't know that you could push that button and sure enough it worked to tilt my sunroof thank you.

How do you add your own pictures on as a wallpaper or background
You add them via the usb that also has a tablet icon .
Download them onto usb drive then behind console on drivers side is HDMI and USB with tablet icon. That usb is connected to Honda entertainment system. Put your usb into that and it should read wallpapers in menu

Just bought this car and everyday i learn something new. i want to say this video really did hold those answers to my questions no other video gave. Cause we all know reading the manual it is one thing but a cool ass demonstration is even better .
don't forget the Claymore airbags. if the crash doesn't kill you, the Honda airbag will try to finish the job with shrapnel coming at you

This was AWESOME! I only know about the Fuel Lock...all others were brand new to me. Only thing I couldn't get to work was closing the windows with the key.
The one that surprised me was the "secret" compartment to open the trunk. It surprised me because it's SO STUPID. It should be cable actuated from the start. This bullshit of everything being electric just adds complexity to something that should be simple and reliable. Big fail.

Tip: you accidentally lock the car and yiu forget your key fob in the trunk and close it. Oh oh! Its OK! The car senses the key fob in the trunk and won't close the trunk!

It's a true statement, a few weeks ago I moved and had boxes in my trunk and my trunk would not close (my main key was in my pocket) and after a decent amount of time I realised my spare key was in one of the boxes..... took it out and it closed.
I got somthing you dont know, the AC goes out within like a couple of months of use, also because it utilizes a new type of AC system, you have to take it back to dealership for them to fix the issue.

Just got my 2019 civic sport about a month ago. I love it sooooo much. Such a huge upgrade from my 2012 Chevy Cruze
Please keep an eye on the transmission. First sign of trouble Get Rid of it ! Dont battle a CVT Trans..youll lose all the time. Money Pits. Good Luck.

I've had this car for two years now and only knew about the locking gas door and funnel. One time after eating at a restaurant I went back to my car to discover all the windows and moon roof open. I thought some tech geniuses were messing with our car. Now I know what happened.
I've decided on a Camry. Afraid of getting Civic because of numerous infotainment issues.Besides I've always owned Toyotas and they don't disappoint.

anizares1 Now I like you! hhehehe!! Yes, the 2017 Accord Coupe is a beauty and a pleasure to drive. Get it in black or charcoal gray, you won't regret that. Trust me. I have a 2016 Civic Coupe EXL Black and the ONLY car I would trade it for would be the Accord Coupe 2017 in Black. Or maybe a Jaguar F-Type. But I can't afford that right now! Hehe
I like blue cause it's not common where I live.I agree dark colors are best but show dirt more in areas where it snows. I like silver best cause it hides the dirt more. Having charcoal grey is what I have now and it's a mess in winter.If I had a garage it would help I'm sure.
