I cannot thank you enough, your style and vidograghy is incredibly professional. Thank you and keep up the amazing work!

Absolutely brilliant 👌 Thom is obviously right up there with the best of the best but he enjoys explaining in a way that is easy to understand. You can actually visualise underwater what he is saying in your mind. He often uses analogies that make you think "Ohhhh wow now I understand" and you can take that with you and put it into practice on the bank. Keep up the great work the content is always appreciated.

Thom is a great angler - even if he can't spell his first name proppa , his channel in the kit room is brilliant , bags of tips . I learned about perch taking insects when I caught perch when euro nymphing , and once caught a jack on a Savage gear mayfly nymph . Lots of his tips are things not known or thought about by the ordinary angler .
This fella's enthusiasm is brilliant.....Very forward thinking and a great instructional video....My brain's frazzled now (in a good way of course). As for the one at the end.....Blimey !!!!
Followed Thom's advice , had a session with crankbaits , learned loads about action and depths. Very effective on my rocky river . Hooked a nice chub. I change the trebles to singles as per Andrews knots channel , I lip hooked a micro lure -the tail end of a bloodteeze would be ideal , impressed with the action , now thinking of trying the same on the belly hook . If you have trouble finding knotable trace wire , google Flexonit and Cannelle , I use BFS gear , and after watching Thom, I had to really work on the retrieve because baitcasters haul in more line per turn the fixed spools . Perchmasters a brill idea , tight lines y'all .
Nice!!! Yeah, cranks particularly good in rocky situations 👌 I’ve started using the AFW traces and got to say that they’re excellent! Thanks for checking out the video and for the kind comments 👍👍

@@Thomhuntfishing Wonderful video, wonderful explanation as well Thom. Question; do you prefer the W3 T&C also for hardbait fishing with jerkbaits, crankbaits, etc? Or do you switch to another rod for that?
On a boat I’ll have multiple rods set up… for jerkbaits I like extra-fast rods and use a custom built 6’10”. But for bank fishing I keep it simple and the Finesse T&C is the best all-round rod I’ve ever used, it can basically do a bit of everything…. Maybe not everything perfectly but for 1 rod for a day it has me covered for multiple techniques
@@Thomhuntfishing Totally agree on the allround characteristics of the W3 T&C. I've used it for lots of techniques, except for hardbait fishing. So I will give it a try next time. And boat fishing...the more rods the better ;-)

A great bit of viewing very informative and above all very enjoyable to watch. Cheers mate Les.
Thanks mate. That wire by AFW is coated in a thin layer of nylon. That’s why it’s knots really nicely. I’ve been using it in 6lb and 11lb. It’s excellent. Thom certainly is a bit of star!! 👍👍👍

Just come across this series love it being new to taking perch fishing seriously… I need to get myself a little sling like that for my net looks so handy
Tournament anglers have to engage their brains to compete at that level … they could go into things casually but I suspect they’d not get the same results.
Interesting comment. I’d have to argue that on the contrary to convincing myself, that the principles I discuss convince the fish, more often than if I didn’t use them. That’s exactly how you can win a tournament, by catching more, and bigger fish than anyone else can on that day. I’d suggest my trophy cabinet and track record is evidence that these principles work. But if you think I’m just convincing myself maybe you’re right and I’m just really really lucky!
Great series of videos these. Just a question though, as I'm a noob at perch fishing. What's the thinking behind changing to wire only when using trebles? I was thinking that if pike were around at all I would use wire traces, but maybe there's some reason it's ok to stick with fluoro when using single hooks?
Yes for clarity if I’ve ever got trebles on then it’s definitely combined with a wire trace. For single hooks you can fish Fluoro or wire, make the judgement based on your venue and pike stocks
I've been fishing for 35+ years and have decided to specialise my fishing to catch my pb perch on a lure. I have a slight problem.. how do you use these finesse baits without getting bit off by pike? I've 20 lb flourocarbon ordered but will that be strong enough? How do you get away with using 6lb flourocarbon? Even micro drop shotting for me seems to attract pike I've tried worm imitations, creature baits, half inch tiny, tiny micro baits and Mr pike still hit me!
Hey, I wonder, could you help me? I've been fishing perch on canals for a good while now, and have caught many fish. However, I recently caught a 2lb 8oz on a 2g jighead and finesse stick lure, however once I got him on the bank I realised he was bleeding from his gills, the hook was bedded next to his tongue, is there anything I could have done or any reason why this would have happened?
Shadteez slim is definitely my confidence bait especially for zander, along with Relax Bass. Something about that small paddle and thin wrist that make zanders go crazy.
Brilliant nick, these perch masters are absolutely amazing. Frustrating at times, I employ these tactics, almost to the t, probably because I've been following Thom and various other fantastic lure anglers for some time, it doesn't make the pbs come any quicker though lol, probably venue and hot spot specific (thats what i keep telling myself anyway lol). An interesting point that Thom never mentioned on here but has on his channel, also a very good youtuber I have met in person(and bass anglers), say that in summer with hard baits more wiggle is better(conditions depending), but in winter the opposite is true. You have to get some of these guys back especially Thom, Ash and Matt during the depths of winter, I want to say to separate the men from the boys but that would be blasphemy. It would be great to see these guys winter tactics. Also is a pike masters on the cards I think it should be, again especially during the depths of winter lure fishing for them. Thanks for the great vids can't wait to see more, I wish you and yours the best and hope for more fantastic content in the future, great channel nick keep up the great work.
