What another great video and very very real , it’s just not about catching massive perch all the time it’s about catching!! And you both said how hard it can be at times , brilliant well done 👍
Yeah, specimen hunting for all species is tough, particularly through winter. Felt like Robbie’s message was to be kind to yourself and remember to enjoy your fishing 😉👍
@@Lifeonthebank definitely and we all beat ourselves up at times thinking why bother but even catching a 3oz perch changes that and makes your day , and again I think your channel is the most realistic one and it’s not all about posh tackle and stupid rigs it’s just plain and simple fishing good work 👍
@@garysimpson8860 Definitely , I admire the dedication and skills of specimen hunters , but any perch is a bonus for me and saves a blank , and yep , despite trying all kinds of rigs and baits , I caught my PB perch on a spinner !!
Another great film Nick. I really appreciate how the perch master anglers have been so generous with their advice in this series. They’re packed full of info for relatively new lure anglers like myself.
Enjoyed all of the perchmasters but Robbie gripped my attention more as it mirrors the general perch fishing nationwide.Basically,I meant to say, we are not all on waters that can chuck up specimen perch.Welldone Nick 👏
Great vid, I'm with him on fishing above the fish. Ive fished through ice down onto shoals of perch and they always take bait offered above rather than below or dropped right amongst em.
Hard conditions there..but scaling down and having fun is a good idea..on a cold day..I find myself that bream shoals are a good sign of many different species of fish...in the area...
Wow ive learned so much from you, from Carolina rig to Texas rig to drop shotting, you show it all and very well. I was a Rainbow basher for years but due to catching wet rags a health reasons ive not fished for years. I watched a bfs video from The Ginger Fisherman. Ive bought cheap stuff and caught a few small perch and pike. The thing i like about it, its free, all these trout venues charging a fortune and there's just no fun. I got to the point i tied almost every fly there it ( just about lol! ) im trying a baitcaster reel but it tricky so ive got both rods now a spinning combo and baitcaster combo. If the mrs knew how much plastics and stuff id be out on my arse fishing every day, not a bad idea. Any l love your content and hpe you read this. ❤
Had the pleasure of meeting robbie in person on my local cut after urban zander hes a genuine top bloke full of knowledge and happy to share it with anyone also a shit hot angler 👌🏼
The production value of this series always has me in awe. Honestly shouldn't be free and this should be watched more! Crazy! Thank you so much for everything you upload!
That was cracking....even though everything was small it was a full action day.... I've seen a few of Mr Northman's videos already and a lot of your own....Info is most readily received.....
Another great addition to the series :) loved all these. Winter is tough and its nice to see its not all about 3lb+ fish, Im happy with any size in the winter!!
@@bickleysanglingadventures5866 I know bickers I know and I'll always be a pike guy at heart but a big perch is always always a bigger fish than a big pike as they are just special fish to of gotten to that point, a pike is the apex predator in fresh water aslong as they survive and have the right amount of food a female pike will always get big, a perch needs strong genetics too
Another great vid, cheers! After a long string of blanks in Jan, I scaled down to a 5cm Squirmz on a 5g cheb in an area I'd had a few previous 1-2lbrs. First cast I hooked my PB of 2lb 6oz. Next day I returned with the dropshot and first cast 2lb2oz on the squirmz again. I seem to be on a one bite/fish per session policy the last few months.
@@Lifeonthebank Ha Ha Ha, not really, moved to Beccles from Yorkshire in 66 as an 11 year old , fished the Waveny valley and the Broads for near on 45 years before moving to the midlands, now got an entirely new area to explore!
Another enjoyable episode Nick 👍 I have however twigged what's going on, once Perch Masters is done, there will be a Perch Gods episode with Callum, won't there, it's true isn't it.... Nick???
Dropshot with LRF gear was my serious attempt at lure fishing , I caught nowt and switched to BFS with baitcaster , I'v'e got a light telescopic baitcaster which will do dropshot , and I pack this every session but never use it . I remember you saying use search lures to find perch , then take the shoal out with dropshot . After watching Robbie bringing in all those wasps , I'll be giving a go more often . The aggressive dropshot clip was a real eye opener . I've just started trying the free rig and am also planning on trying the backslide (or backglide )rig .
Yeah, that Dropshot clip at the end was quite something. Rod tip low, set well away from the weight and fished aggressive 🤯 He mentioned the free rig a few times so definitely worth a go! 👍
Love watching these awesome videos. Full of information and tips. Just love that big perch at the end. I would love a 3 pounder … I’ve been so close so many times, but never quite scraped the last couple of ounces to get a three !! Well done and well deserved. All the best 👍😁🎣

100%. It’s easy to get into a routine where you’re punishing yourself to try and catch that biggun! Take a break, scale down and catch a few fish 😉👍
👏👏👏 love perch masters
As a man that fishes for gator....I absolutely love this series I do love a good perch (maybe even more than a good pike but shhhhh)
Both species are awesome. I actually look forward to winters now!!!

Great video nick! Robbie is a top angler comes across a really genuine guy thank you for sharing the knowledge! 🎥🔥💪🏻🎣
Genuinely such a nice guy. Easy to spend time with and full of fishing know how 👌👌👌
Good angling that stretch of water is chocka. Asking him when he would use a skirt threw him off & ive not had much success with large jerks .
Seen a few anglers to really well on skirted chatterbaits
I can which this all day love it 👍👍👍
Lovely, simple, cool and calming approach to catching fish 😁👌

Another great perch masters vid 🥳 well done you goggle eyed 💩🏠👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻
😂😂 cheers for checking it out 👍👍
Was that lodden boat yard
id like to see a demo of that knot @20:18
No luck at Beccles as usual on lures for me
Scale down … there’s loads there. If you don’t get bites it’s because a seal is probably working the area 😩
@Life on the bank thank you will try smaller jigs
