I think the new ‘thing’ to declare is that you’ll never say publicly you are on a fabric buying ban. Have never agreed with that statement - as you say, this is your love and hobby. You work hard. You and other folks can purchase to their own budget which always goes up and down with life stuff getting in the way, kids, pets, household maintenance etc. Enjoy the fabric buying forever and ever. I just watched your latest video, hey Rachel, one would not expect a fish not to swim or go back in.the water,, how can you expect not to buy lovely fabric at excellent prices.. You have my blessing to just buy the fabric with no guilt, you are a fast sewer, you work in a reasonable stressy job, you need the fabric/makes for your mental health. Worry about your stash when it gets that bad you and Martin need to relocated to the summer house in the backyard to sleep.. I reckon you got a few good years of buying before then.. Just promise me to keep showing us.. It bittersweet to us folks who do not have access to such shops/bargain prices but it's ever so good to see what folks are buying and intend making..
I've never been disappointed with anything I've bought from Pound Fabrics, even the £1 ones are really good and they can cut straight which is a wonderful surprise these days 🤣
You are lovely, and I am glad you bust your ban. I bust my ones regularly. I have made a few purchases from pound fabrics and always been happy. The only issue is you have to be quick. They sell out fast on certain things.
Lovely choices and great to see the fabrics and the quality and movement which you just don't get from a photo online. Think I may be tempted by the double gauze after seeing this 🙂
Lovely fabrics. I’ve bought a few pieces of fabric from Poundland that were good quality as well as some v cheap ones for testing with. Found there delivery swift as you’ve said. No problems at reasonable prices. Agree with you about having to buy a larger quantity for some that is not needed. Thanks for sharing😻👍
Following your link to Pound Fabrics I have spent an hour looking at the site,I can only marvel at your restraint😂 . I have seen a number of fabrics which I have previously bought for much more money.I was so happy to find lots of pure cotton suitable for children as I have a nephew and niece who suffer with eczema.Never apologise for buying fabric Rachel it is your hobby and makes you happy.Lately I have looked at clothes in the super market and wondered is it worth sewing when I can buy a dress for less than £20 when it can cost me the same for 1 metre of fabric..Thank you for sharing this gem.
If I could reach through my screen I would take all of your beautiful fabrics. I especially loved the linen blend,I could see that one in a maxi wrap skirt. I love dresses and skirts but my life style is more pants and shorts. I am very interested in seeing what tops you decide to make. Another great vlog!

Lovely fabrics in your haul. Great to see them on a bigger scale. I’m a real pound fabrics fan, I’ve had some lovely cotton poplins and canvases for knitting bags from them. Always speedy delivery and great quality fabric.
Your fabrics are all lovely. I have bought from pound fabrics many times - usually linen, cotton , cotton jersey, denim and needlecord. Their prices are always really good.
I loved your fabrics and it was so helpful. I’ve often seen fabrics cheaper in one place than another. The first time I purchased a pointe type fabric I had a sample from a well known site, then saw it @ the textile centre for £3.99 instead of £12 a metre, several years ago now. It’s good to see Pound fabrics is good quality so I expect I’ll be tempted😆

As you said there is alot of man made fibres which I have personally decided to avoid now, not that there is anything wrong with them. There is also alot of chiffon. Please be aware that some fabrics have to be bought in 3 metre lengths.I have always been happy with my purchases and the service. Thank you Rachael for the review.

I have bought lots from pound fabrics. I've got some double gauze and it's beautiful. I agree with your review. There are some really good stuff but also some very cheap polyester. I usually go with if it doesn't state what it is it will be polyester especially the cheapest ones. My last order I got last week was an organic cotton French Terry and it's beautiful 😍
I do recognize some of these fabrics. They were out a few years ago. The mint green gauze for sure, as it is one in the line that came out to make baby swaddle wraps. I got that one for my granddaughter. I also recognize a couple of others that you bought as well. You got a real good deal for end of line fabrics. I don't mind having end of line fabrics, cause heck we often don't get to them for a couple of years anyway. Canada doesn't have a lot of garment fabric shops, and the couple I use are based in Vancouver and prices are very high, so sometimes I go to Fabric Mart on line, that carries end of line fabric from the rag trade that are bought from designer houses in New York and other places. Prices are very reasonable.
I bought from pound fabrics last year, I was so surprised at the great quality! But then I completely forgot about them, great vlog and a reminder for me to go back and have a look! 😀
Lovely fabric haul. I love Pound Fabrics and use them all the time when I see something. They do always say if you want high end fabric then they dont have it. However, I have always found the fabric to be really good quality and cheap xx
I’m glad when we see fabrics bought online. There are no fabric shops around here so I rely on people to show me what they think of online stores. It would be useful if online stores gave gsm weights and fibre content, as they don’t, it’s helpful when you show drape.
Fabric is great insulation so no problem adding to it and certainly never feel guilty when you enjoy your hobby so much. I was put off buying from pound fabrics because of the name really - I've been caught out before from a similar sounding store and the fabrics I received from them put me off buying from pound fabrics as I assumed they would be a similar seller. How wrong was that - your fabrics are beautiful so I'm off to have a look now. Love your top too - the square neckline is very flattering x

I got some beautiful linen last year, from them, for £2.50 per meter. It sewed up so well I went & bought some more for my stash. It's a great place, if you choose wisely, & perfect prices for toile fabric. Beautiful fabric choices, by you & I agree the last one is my favourite😍

Rachel I love Pound Fabrics and have bought loads from them. They are not far from where I live. The fabrics have got better over the last couple of years, but I too have found some fabrics on other websites exactly the same as Pound Fabrics sell, and they were much more expensive xx
Ive been buying from Pound Fabrics for years. Their fabrics can be a mixed bag and its not even the cheaper the price, the nastier the fabric. I have had Lady McElroy fabric (slight seconds), the blue floral poplin you bought is Vera Bradley (theres a few others on PF site), Ann Taylor and many other high end fabrics from them. And as you say, some Ive seen on other fabric shops for more than twice the price. Yes, you have to buy full metres, yes the postage to the Highlands is more expensive (grrrr) but the cheap prices and superb customer service more than makes up for it. I bought three remnants from another indi shop last week just to see what all the fuss was about and it was ok, but I'll stick to PF I think. Maybe for a special outfit I might go elsewhere but PF is my go to fabric shop. Great review video Rachel, I hope many others give PF a try and see they are not what you expect.

I just discovered they have a US site so I am super excited as I was wondering if they would ship to the US😃🇺🇸 I love your double gauzes and they have it on the US site and in pink 💕 so might have to purchase 😜 I totally understand you still buying fabric as I am just the same and can never resist new and different fabrics! Ahaha Ruan's vlog was the reason I found Pound Fabrics, I was hunting double gauze! How funny... 2 double gauzes, some poplin & a blind buy pack later... I got the mint dg too & was going to go forthe floral shimmer but I didn't for some reason & I really regret it now!

Thank you for the recommendation! I've just spotted a John Loudon fabric that is also in a couple of 'high end' indies for £15pm. They are selling the same one for £8pm. I know it is high quality because I have bought it in a different colourway before. So bought that and then just had to add a couple of others too.
I just checked out Pound Fabrics. That beautiful linen blend fabric was only just over $16 Canadian but the shipping was $35. I guess I won't be ordering it. I am tempted to actually buy it and have it sent to a friend living in Liverpool. He could bring it next time he is in Canada. I think it is a timeless fabric so it wouldnt't matter if i didn't get it this year. I really do understand your love of buying fabric. I don't buy clothes and only buy shoes when I absolutely have to but fabric is another story.
Thank you so much for this.I have subscribed to pound fabrics but haven't bought as I wasn't sure of their quality.I suppose the doubt came in relating it to pound stores which was unfair of me.Looking at the fabrics you've bought they seem great,the same as other fabric stores but guaranteed low prices. So,Ill be buying from them. Which way do you wash and dry your fabrics before cutting.I have looked and had advice from:-wash and dry on the hottest setting . Wash and dry as you normally would but always tumble dry. Wash on low and line dry. To be honest I've never washed and dried before use but I think I've been lucky,

Don't apologize for buying fabric Yes we all think that we are going to slow down and sew up some of the stash before we get more But I have found that what I am buying has changed slightly from what I used to buy I am really looking forward to seeing you sort your stash carefully Because there is a website destash that you can go on and sell your stash fabrics that you may no longer want because of the content Or color and print of the fabric So you don't have lots of fabrics taking up space and making a person feel guilty I did that and now going forward I buy with plans like buying amout for a dress or blouse or slacks I have no guilt or need to apologize My extras went to a charity shop and someone else is enjoying them But destash website might be a option So just a suggestion for you So you don't think I will sew that up to get it off the shelf and then not wear it Hopefully this makes sense and might be helpful Love your makes thank you for the ideas The boat fabric "the sewing bunny " She made a blouse that's Lovely for summer Happy sewing looking forward to seeing more Take care
I buy a lot from Pound Fabrics. If you are careful and watch the fabric content and the weight there are some real gems on there. I bought some of their cotton gauze a few weeks back for pj's.
I recently bought the boat cotton jersey from them too but I’ve ordered some of the glitter viscose linen as is looks beautiful. Some grey knit also fell into my basket 🤣 Thabks Rachel
Great vlog. I've been on their website a few times. Granted there are lots of cheapo poly fabrics but look through and there are also some good ones too. I saw a bear jersey on there once that was half the price I'd seen somewhere else

I also put a small piece of double gauze into my bag but unfortunately by the time I got round to ordering it had gone! I actually looked at that glitter viscose too, it’s lovely and was tempted but a little dubious, as I hadn’t heard anyone talk about pound fabrics before. I now feel that if you choose wisely it’s definitely worth considering. So once again thanks for your vlog.

I agree about Pound Fabric. I get some gorgeous Viscose, Cottons, Linen Viscose Blends and Double Gauze at amazing prices. They are a bit addictive 😂

I’m so glad I watched this video and checked out Pound fabrics after seeing all your lovely fabrics. I just discovered they have a US site so I am super excited as I was wondering if they would ship to the US😃🇺🇸 I love your double gauzes and they have it on the US site and in pink 💕 so might have to purchase 😜 I totally understand you still buying fabric as I am just the same and can never resist new and different fabrics! Life is just too short 😉😁
Ahaha Ruan's vlog was the reason I found Pound Fabrics, I was hunting double gauze! How funny... 2 double gauzes, some poplin & a blind buy pack later... I got the mint dg too & was going to go forthe floral shimmer but I didn't for some reason & I really regret it now!
I have had some lovely fabrics from them. Pound A Metre Fabrics are just as good and Sew Affordable Fabrics. Use them all the time. Xx

My fabric buying ban has been broken again , I’ve just bought the leopard print and cotton poplins. The purple and blue one reminds me of a Lady McElroy print 😊

Thank you for the recommendation! I've just spotted a John Loudon fabric that is also in a couple of 'high end' indies for £15pm. They are selling the same one for £8pm. I know it is high quality because I have bought it in a different colourway before. So bought that and then just had to add a couple of others too.
I just checked out Pound Fabrics. That beautiful linen blend fabric was only just over $16 Canadian but the shipping was $35. I guess I won't be ordering it. I am tempted to actually buy it and have it sent to a friend living in Liverpool. He could bring it next time he is in Canada. I think it is a timeless fabric so it wouldnt't matter if i didn't get it this year. I really do understand your love of buying fabric. I don't buy clothes and only buy shoes when I absolutely have to but fabric is another story.

Thank you so much for this.I have subscribed to pound fabrics but haven't bought as I wasn't sure of their quality.I suppose the doubt came in relating it to pound stores which was unfair of me.Looking at the fabrics you've bought they seem great,the same as other fabric stores but guaranteed low prices. So,Ill be buying from them. Which way do you wash and dry your fabrics before cutting.I have looked and had advice from:-wash and dry on the hottest setting . Wash and dry as you normally would but always tumble dry. Wash on low and line dry. To be honest I've never washed and dried before use but I think I've been lucky,

Yes we all think that we are going to slow down and sew up some of the stash before we get more
But I have found that what I am buying has changed slightly from what I used to buy
I am really looking forward to seeing you sort your stash carefully
Because there is a website destash that you can go on and sell your stash fabrics that you may no longer want because of the content
Or color and print of the fabric
So you don't have lots of fabrics taking up space and making a person feel guilty
I did that and now going forward I buy with plans like buying amout for a dress or blouse or slacks
I have no guilt or need to apologize
My extras went to a charity shop and someone else is enjoying them
But destash website might be a option
So just a suggestion for you
So you don't think I will sew that up to get it off the shelf and then not wear it
Hopefully this makes sense and might be helpful

I buy a lot from Pound Fabrics. If you are careful and watch the fabric content and the weight there are some real gems on there. I bought some of their cotton gauze a few weeks back for pj's.
There are a few fabrics there that are nodding at me that I've seen on other sites so thanks for the heads up!
I recently bought the boat cotton jersey from them too but I’ve ordered some of the glitter viscose linen as is looks beautiful. Some grey knit also fell into my basket 🤣 Thabks Rachel
Great vlog. I've been on their website a few times. Granted there are lots of cheapo poly fabrics but look through and there are also some good ones too. I saw a bear jersey on there once that was half the price I'd seen somewhere else

Hi Rachel. Thanks for your vlog. I ordered some fabric from pound fabric yesterday but just cotton canvas to make some bags with. I also put a small piece of double gauze into my bag but unfortunately by the time I got round to ordering it had gone! I actually looked at that glitter viscose too, it’s lovely and was tempted but a little dubious, as I hadn’t heard anyone talk about pound fabrics before. I now feel that if you choose wisely it’s definitely worth considering. So once again thanks for your vlog.
