You shouldn't have to explain anything about where you look at the camera, or anything, my goodness, such annoying people always picking, complaining, giving unsolicited advice. Keep up the blogs, I love them❤ Take care
I absolutely agree, if anyone gives negative comments about where you look at the screen - have they tried it? It’s almost impossible. Please don’t let them take away from what you are doing, and yes you look great! Glad you feel good inside too as that is the most important thing.
The camera police are at it again … I enjoy the vlogs wherever vloggers look. If it bothers them that much why do they watch 🤷♀️

Honestly Rachel, you’re beautiful. You DO NOT have to apologize for anything. Some people just need to complain. Stay healthy and I (and the other lovely ladies who watch you) love your videos and projects ❤. I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction surgery in 2022. My body shape has drastically changed. My bust and waist are the same size. It’s because of people such as yourself that helped me learn about adjustments in sewing and the joy of creating a wardrobe that actually fits me. For Goodness Sake!!!. What the heck goes through peoples minds when all they can do is comment on where you are looking?? Did I notice your eye? Yes. Did I feel the need to comment? No. Not once did I think, does Rachel know about her eye? Of course she does. What difference does it make to her content? None. Grow up folks, Rachel is a fabulous creator, I enjoy all her videos regardless where she is looking. It beggers belief in this day and age that people still think its acceptable to question someones appearance. Get a grip....... carry on Rachel, just as you are. You are funny, knowledgeable and great at what you do...... even if you MAKE me spend loads of money 😂😂😂❤

Rachel, people need to understand how hard it is to line up a camera so it presents you looking forward. I taught on line during Covid19, and used the best equipment, and still looked off in one direction! So folks, don't whine, unless you have experienced this yourself!!

Lovely plans. I have a black linen viscose Zadie and it’s so versatile. I made another one this year in steel blue linen which is just as useful. Your outfit for you granddaughter is perfect. The fabrics work so well together. Looking forward to seeing your makes ❤

Just want you to know Rachel that I appreciate you 😊❤ you, Ruan , Tamlyn, and so many other vloggers saw me through a very rough time when I had throat cancer. It's all better now, but at one point, I was very ill and spent a lot of time bedridden, but you all kept me entertained and stopped me from getting so down by my situation, so thank you 😊 your candid sharing of both your talent and your life made me feel like I had a friend even when my own friends where prohibited from visiting (pandemic and low immune system) . I have always thought you were beautiful inside and out, as do many of your viewers, and whilst it's good to explain why some things are the way they are, please don't change because, you are great as you are 😊 take care and keep being you 😊
Oh honey I am so glad to hear in some small way we got you through and even better than you are now ok, my dad had throat cancer and came through the other side so i have some insight into it, but thats why we do what we do, to try and bring some sewing joy to people xx

I am glad you are in a good place right now! I love your vlogs and cannot wrap my head around people feeling entitled to comment on hair color, where you look, how you look or anything else. I find them incredibly rude. You take care of yourself and ignore every else!
I love your projects! As far as how you look (into the camera or not), you are gorgeous in every way. You make me feel invested in your wellbeing because your beauty and goodness shine through.

Rachel, I think Layla's butterfly outfit will be adorable. I know what you mean about not sewing for her as much as you'd expected. I also have a granddaughter who's quite petite (she turned three in early May and weights less than 25 pounds. When we pick her up it's like lifting a little bird!) On top of her petite size, her family moved to Japan a year and a half ago so getting measurements is nearly impossible. I can't wait to see your plans come to fruition. You always have the loveliest fabrics!

Why do people nitpick about camera angles , I’ve never noticed , and your eyes so suit you they are beautiful, unique to you and attractive , I love your videos
Agree with comments about unsolicited remarks on where you look and your weight, you don't need to explain most of us are here for your great garment sewing. Boden is a good place to look at their hotch potch range to get inspiration for the clashing patterns look but you've nailed it by yourself 😂

I’m glad you were able to lose the weight because I know it was important to you. I’m about ten years older than you and maintaining reasonable weight gets harder but is crucial in keeping your health and not getting annoying aches and pains. Kudos to you! I’ve just recently joined a volunteer fire department because my home is near a large wilderness area in U.S. West…my aches and pains keep popping up in weirdest ways. :-)
Glad you’re making it through your stash! I really like the viscoses and just started sewing with them this year.

As for the comments, I just hope you realise the vast majority of us watch you because your wonderful personality shines through, you do a brilliant job in making interesting, entertaining, and educational videos. If you’re not always looking directly into the camera, who cares! You are still creating and putting yourself out there. It’s more than most of us will ever do. And as for the body comments, all I hope for is that you’re happy in yourself and are feeling good. 😊

Social Media has given some people a platform to hide behind, allowing them to express such unkind thoughts and comments without any regard to how those opinions make us feel. I'm appalled at what some people feel is there right these days to point out. Don't ever apologize for the beautiful person you are Rachel. If someone has a problem, about which nothing can be done, they should find other entertainment. The rest of your 14 1/2 thousand supporters will still be here.

Hi Rachel. Firstly, no need to apologise for anything! Your content is always fabulous …. You could be looking at the ceiling and it would still be fabulous! Re leopard print for trousers … Dalston mills have a canvas, a corduroy and a curtain fabric which is cotton (cotton furnishing fabric may be something to look at as it tends to be a heavier weave). Good luck with the hunt!
Lovely vlog Rachel. I don’t know why people are so nit picking! You do choose beautiful fabrics. I liked everything you have chosen to make. I love the fabric for Layla but one thing I’ll mention is that when I make my grandchildren garments I’m trying to choose fabrics that need little or no ironing. I made a beautiful Peter rabbit dress I cotton last year when Gracie was 12-13 months and it always looked crumpled. This year I’ve made one in liberty fabric as that hardly creases and of course seersucker would be a good choice or double gauze. I love your ideas and can’t wait to see the vogue pattern as I’ve been dithering over this for 2 years I think. Good luck with all your plans. 😊

I’m new to sewing and love your channel. I think some people are just ignorant and rude with their comments. I can empathise as my adult daughter is blind in one eye and people really can be thoughtless.
The Fabric Store have stretch cotton drill in leopard. I have been contemplating this for a while. I might need to make a visit

Loved this video, thank you. I’ve dropped out of sewing in recent times as I also struggle with body image when my weight goes up. I’m in the zone for sorting that out again (I’d like to think once and for all, but I’m a yo-yoer too 😅), but somehow have got my sewjo back even though I haven’t changed in size much yet. I’m trying to change my mindset a bit on the whole ‘only wanting to sew when I’m happier with my size’ and just sew now, but it’s a work in progress…).
Anyway, my actual point in posting was to say that with the gorgeous yellow and blue fabric that you have from The Fabric Store in NZ (where I’m from originally 😊), I love the top you have planned for that, and as soon as you said you had lots of the fabric, I could immediately picture you making a matching skirt like the one you’re wearing in this video. They would look amazing together, and on you. Just a thought, if you had enough fabric for both.

Love your stash fabrics. The yellow and blue top you are planning would make a good co- ord with a skirt to match. Trouser fabric is so hard to find isnt it! because obviously you cant feel it. I like to make trousers because rtw ones never fit me. Good luck finding your leopard print. xx

Take no notice…it’s so easy to say but I too have a squint/lazy eye. My baby photos look awful. Even now it takes a fair few attempts to photograph me to get a single one where I’m looking at the camera. I think you are great for speaking about this. It makes me, and probably others, feel more mainstream ( Possibly the wrong word but I hope you understand. I have been , also, at the end of some nasty folk when I was on Twitter now x I think. Instagram is a much nicer place, I feel, so I hang out there xxxx. Keep on trucking lovely lady xx. I love that fabric I can’t wait to see it made up.

Wow, you have lots of amazing plans! I love the idea of leopard print jeans. I laughed when you said 14 years instead of 14 months for Layla. Sometimes I feel like I blinked and my grandkids went from babies to teenagers. I think the fabrics you chose for her new outfit are adorable. I've also shopped my fabric stash this year. And instead of buying new patterns when I see one I love, I shop my pattern stash. And I usually find something similar that I can adjust.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Tamarama set (especially if you make the long pants) - I am the same height as you and it was refreshing to not have to lengthen pants for once 😂

Take all the positives Rachel. People who are negative are usually not brave enough to put themselves out there as you do so ignore them. Your content is great and you are very “real” which is what we all love. I too have just lost over 2 stones with Slimming World and regretting not tracing patterns as I now need Smaller sizes. I feel so much better and refuse to apologise for wanting to look slimmer and better in clothes. It is a personal thing and I do not judge anyone else. I have made the Tamara set and love it except for trouser pockets - they flap around and are a bit low- pockets need to be extended upwards to catch in waistband in my humble opinion😅. I made a pair of Thea’s in a Leopard Spots Printed Cotton Corduroy from Dalston mill fabrics they still have it in stock was light weight so perfect for this weather!! 👌🙌

Love a good fabric show and tell
If you like Orange fabric, there is a lovely Viscose on Pound Fabrics that is 5.25 pm. It is a golden orange (like sunrise) with leaves (I know you like leafy fabric) and turquoise leaves in it. It is beautiful. I have 5 m of it.
I’m just cutting out a plum, love it! I have a lazy eye and as a teacher I had to tell the pupils I would not always seem that I was looking at them! Folk are so ignorant on TH-cam! You look great, I thought you had lost weight but I would never say! I lost weight with Slimming World and kept it off by still going to meetings. You are right it’s just healthy eating and exercise! I have just bought a Nell kit from Jenny Stitches in a gingham fabric! Love your vlogs, you’re a star!
