Always were if you didn't want a belt, poopy suspension and weird quirks like the 1.0 turbo button or the non-functional 2.0 turbo button or (apparently) the fact that you have to wait hours to recharge the battery after riding it hard (are the Talaria Boys alone in that experience??). I like the E-Ride but was never tempted to upgrade from my MX4. The MX5, however...yeah that's tempting. Might just continue building my MX4 since I have a couple grand invested in upgrades already and see what they do next year with the MX6
Such a good review. Both rides are sweet. After I threw on the EBMX X-9000 on my Eride Pro SS 2.0 it didn't really matter after that. All us boys send all our surRons, Talarias, Erides, into the dirt all day and they huck as hard as the rider can give. Plus, there are so many mods nowadays that either bike will work depending on the rider's preference. But out of the box cost to quality ratio? Yeah, the Talria MX5 definitely shows up. Great review!
Fantastic comparison. I 100% agree with everything, especially the Talaria's fit and finish, and the overall quality. Everything feels more polished and more premium.
Pre ordered pro ss a couple days ago. I’m from the uk and this video has made me cancel the order and pre order the mx5 instead 😂. It not due to release until mid October but I feel it’s the right move and will definitely be worth the wait 😁
I'm an E-ride 2.0 owner and clearly the MX5 is the better stock option. But I've upgraded the controller, suspension, tires, etc on my E-ride and it will smoke an MX5 while being much lighter. But that did come with a hefty price tag.
upgrading the eRide Pro only goes so far, Jack-Shafts will never be capable of owning a Gear Box. So once the next generation 3.0 eRide Pro is released with a Gear Boss the 2.0 becomes totally obsolete.
All the mx5 needs is a controller to murder that. Bridger has already been working on the Vesc tune for the mx5 and pulled over 20kw from the stock pack.
no offense but that sounds awful. why would u spend sooooo much money just to enhance something with another 1000-2500 dollars? thats awful. a big purchase like this i just wanna buy n ride!

Every one who bought a eride had the charging problem and electrical harness comes loose and melt the battery and harness and I watched you guys beat the heck out of the eride and beat every bike you guys are making a difference
When you mentioned the different charge times and the Eride Pro SS needing to cool for hours before charging, it got me curious. Talaria MX5 states clearly it's using Samsung 21700 50S cells. While Eride Pro SS states proudly it's using Samsung 21700 cells.. a little vague. Multiple sources state the Eride Pro is actually using Samsung 21700 50E cells which explains the drastic differences. Samsung 50s cells have a higher discharge and charge rate. More torque and faster charging.
@bensnipes7288 Another huge feature of the MX5 he forgot to mention was Gear Box doesn't sound like your grandma's washing machine in high gear. Plus a belt can't, won't, has never snapped.
Great review and comparisons! I have a fully rebuilt Surron with every component EBMX has had in their arsenal. But seeing the MX5 I can see it won't be too long before stock bikes are as good as the one I've put together...but they're not there yet.

@Logan-Taylor It's a no-brainer what's coming next for the eRide Pro if they want to stay competitive. 1. More power 2. better suspension 3. Gear Box 4. Removal of the large display/scratch pad
I sprayed mechanical lube on mid frame and shock, rub down fork and the whole bike dropped full of movement on rear and front shock ! So much play now ! Couldn't believe the softness in suspension 😉
Mx4 or e ride pro? I found both brand new for the same price at a local dealership. Im only around 125 pounds however my xxx isnt cutting it. Its for sale rn and im looking into the e ride pro ss. Doesn’t look like there is room for lower pegs, sound right?
Is there a talaria boys coupon code we can use while ordering?
Use the code Talariaboys at checkout on our website 👍
how do the mx5 brakes compare to volar sports brakes?
We like the mx5 brakes better
@@Talariaboys nice. I'm not too hyped about the weight and look of the mx5 but dang does the power, charging speed, brakes make a compelling argument.
Thanks for the great comparison. One spec i would like to see compared is the noise level.
Talaria is quieter with its gear reduction instead of belt on the E-Ride
@@Talariaboys Ok thats good to know. Thanks for that!
@@Talariaboys Great, good to know
should do the mx5 vs one of y’all’s upgraded sting r
Hey I have a question Could i put a ko nano controller on my talaria sting mx3
Yes
I think the mx5 display is perfect give you room to add a carplay. Or nice center phone stand
When are you guys doing a wheel set up for the MX5
We are still figuring out the new wider wheel spacing and seeing what could be made to be compatible. Please stay tuned for future upgrade video's going over this.
I hate how much I respect and enjoyed this video. As an ERP owner I say this with such a heavy heart… rip erp lmaoooo
Still prefer the E-Ride. The heavier weight of the Talaria is a deal breaker. The E-Ride is already hard enough to pick up over trail logs. Couldn’t imagine an extra 25lbs
Your video is always helpful! Keep up the good work and god bless!!! Would like to know if all of the upgrades for the Mx4 will work on the MX5?
Lots of the mx4 upgrades will fit but also a lot won't, stay tuned for our future upgrade video
@@Talariaboys I had seen that the front fork is wider and didn’t know what options would be for different forks and shocks if they need them? Thanks
Hey TB. I have a E-Ride pro ss and I got new wheels for it and new rotors didn’t get new pads. but it’s squeaky in the rear not so much in the front but I have to put a lot of pressure to even stop sometimes. Any tips.
You probably need to clean your rotors and brake pads with some rubbing alcohol and then re bed them in
@@Talariaboys awesome thank you. I will have to try that.
Are you guys still using the scud battery, or did you get the greenway?
Who said we ever had a Scud battery?
@@Talariaboys I was just wondering if you guys had one and replaced it, mine gets here on Wednesday and I’m just curious about the battery.
Altis review coming? Would like a mx5 comparison
Coming
Are y’all gonna make a vid on the new sigma bike?
