    all the touch screen functions are accessible through the side handle. Also, all the buttons on the screen, side handle, and the SSD module are customizable with "shortcut" functions.

    I go back and forth between the Red Epic and Arri Alexa. Image wise Red seems to represent the best of what digital cinema has to offer but the Arri Alexa gives you the look of film that Red simply can't.

    This is awesome! RED is definitly way better than a DSLR but Magic Lantern allows you to use a lot of those features like False Color, Peeking/Clipping and Focus peek.

    @artsYedITs Clipping is a form of distortion that limits a signal once it exceeds a threshold. Clipping may occur when a signal is recorded by a sensor that has constraints on the range of data it can record.

    That guy is great at explaining everything! I definitely learnt more about the camera. Oh and I want that camera. Either an Epic, Scarlet or an Arri Alexa. Will probably depend on my budget which is zero at the moment.

  • @strikermed

    This is the most I've seen of a RED camera... I'm a video production major. I've worked on film festival submissions and several others using both DSLR and XLHD1 with Red Rock adaptors. If they could take the two and merge functions (especailly like the RED did with the focus assisting functions) I would really like that. Dave just want to say your videos are great and informative. I enjoy your product reviews, because you give a good opinion on how the equipment will stand up to abuse ect

    @BlakeinatorMate Count around just under 300MBps for uncompressed RAW 1080p at 30fps 12bit 4:4:4 video and uncompressed surround audio. It’s just under the maximum spec of the new SDXC memory card. 2Tb would last around 2 hours at this rate.. At the moment not only the camera would be the problem.

    hate touchscreen, what was wrong with buttons? You had the total help of felt sense, to help you know you're actually hitting the right button, touchscreen anything, has to be accuracy by sight alone, i make so many mistakes since getting my touchscreen phone, and i have it along time. Buttons work!

    You'd have to be using some pretty bad glass for that to happen. Technically you can use Canon Glass on an Epic or a Scarlet and still get some pretty impressive results. Just take a look at CorridorDigital's Sync. They use Canon Glass (Not even the L-Series) and produce stunning images with their Scarlet.

  • @vladimirtalijan
    @vladimirtalijan 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @vbobkovsky I'm not talking about UI design, but the speed, or should I say lag and organization. Magic Lantern firmware looks more polished and a lot more responsive, and that is just a free hacked homemade firmware against 35k dollars pro camera. It's just a matter of time when Canon make cheaper and better 4k camera, and push the Red from the market, just like almost every other US tech company.
