Mine is the last Year of the original tight turn 2021 mine is the craftsman T240 dry weight 630 pounds..46" cut Kohler 7000 22 horsepower V twin 725cc 3 year unlimited hours warranty 5 years on the full frame K46 tuff torq hydrostatic transmission Cruze control and built like a little tank I looked at John Deere.. Husqvarna..and went with the craftsman T240 and yes I heard the newer models are a transmission downgrade.. I've had zero issues with my T240 the battery is a 275 cold crank..the engine is designed after the Kohler command commercial pro engine..mine came with Air ram in 2021
@@kev-reviews they had a series that came out in 2019 to 2021 they are the best version I don't know what you think but usually what happens is when they release a model of a tractor they go all out with build once they see it's a huge seller they will discontinue the version and release a second one and thats when you find out they have downgraded from the original it's a marketing con job they all do it John Deere.. Husqvarna doesn't matter..I'm very glad I went with the 2021 version..
@BlueberryStinkFinger62 they had already started trimming T210 features by 2020 when I bought mine. It lost the air ram and the rear anti-scalp wheels 🙁
Guessing the "K" in the model number is to indicate a Kohler engine. I know MTD makes various mowers including those with Briggs and Stratton engines. Maybe they struck a deal with Kohler to put the "K" in the model number? I have a 3 year old T2200...bumpy ride but its doing great🙂
I'm still happy with my 150hr T210, I'll take the K46 anyday, yeah I wish I have the V-twin, bumper and ram air but at the end of the day they are not huge upgrades that would make a big difference.
I just got a T4400 and love it, used to mainly cut with a 48 inch green and yellow mower and the craftsman T4400 is hands down better. I love the tight turn tech. Your videos are great keep up the good work!
Jeez, you do lawn tractor reviews too! I have a KevCentral sticker on my Schwhinn Al Comp. Now I will have to put a KevCentral or KR sticker on my John Deere! LOL. I just purchased an X370 that has the K57 transaxle. It has power steering and deck. A neighbor has a Craftsman that does a great job too! It would be great for you to do reviews on the different brands. This is my first lawn tractor as I did not need one at my previous residence. Note: I do have a Honda push mower for the areas that a lawn tractor can not do. Awesome video as usual!
What I'd like to know is how the reverse-mowing function works, assuming it does. My old Craftsman (bought 20 years ago) had a very simple method for this: rotate the ignition one position counterclockwise and use the forward/backward lever to go either forward or backward while mowing. Many models now seem to have made reverse mowing much more difficult. That's not practical on my lawn - I do lots of backward mowing because I don't have room everywhere to do U-turns.
@@kev-reviews But do you have to press the button EVERY time you want to go in reverse? Or, once pressed, can you mow backward and forward repeatedly? Also, do you have to keep the reverse button depressed manually or is it just like a push-button, on/off switch? There are areas of my lawn where I go 10 ft. forward, 10 ft backward, back and forth maybe 20 times in a row gradually moving left or right. I can't be going through a multi-step process to get the mower in reverse every time.
yes, comparisons between all of the big box store riding mowers. murray, jd, husky, cub, all craftsman models including the bigger units. there is a new mower in the line up, PRORUN, it's electric 48v, 75ah, 38", it's not lithium, it's got about 4 regular lead acid batteries, it's sold at lowes and amazon, works the same as a typical golf cart but mows, i've heard nothing but great reviews on it, i might be interested in it. if a battery(s) goes bad on it, so what, they are cheaper and more available than the lithium batteries. thanks.
Are you implying that the horsepower and torque would make that much difference ? Double cylinders equals double trouble sometimes..I'm very happy with my T-210, and will stay with it, still does everything I ask it to do...but for those that might be planning to purchase a mower, this video might help them...
I’m happy with my T210 as well. I’m comparing a T2200 with a 5400 single vs the K model with the 7000 twin. IMO, the better option. The 7000 20hp puts out more torque at lower rpm and builds from there. Vibration should be less too. There’s nothing wrong with the 5400 as I see, and there are less moving parts. I’m fine with the 5400, but had I been given a choice of a 20hp twin for $100 more I would certainly have taken it.
Generally speaking, larger engines consume more gas even when doing the same exact amount of work. For example, a 4 cylinder mustang uses less gas pushing a mustang 70mph down the highway than an identical v8 Mustang driving right next to it at the same speed, on the same road with an identical weight driver. It's because of BSFC, Brake specific fuel consumption. If the displacement is the same, but across 2 cylinders vs 1, I'm not sure. But the extra HP isn't free. It will use more gas when producing max hp vs the old one. The only ways you could get that power for free is to massively improve BSFC or by raising compression.
There are exceptions. I doubt this would be one as I suspect that 20hp twin does use more gas. I’m going to go back and measure the tank to see if they squeezed in some capacity that’s not quick-look obvious. However, I can tell you some cars that are heavier and with larger engines that get crushed in mpg vs my car around town actually do better on the interstate because they don’t have to work as hard. For example, if my little 3-cyl mirage is driving 85mph (not that I would ever do that 😈) it loses A LOT of fuel efficiency.
The new T4400 looks very nice. First Craftsman mower ive been excited about in years
Kawasaki engine. Nice

Same process on this mower. Move ignition switch back one click and press a button. Red light turns on and it can mow in reverse

No. When working properly one press will do until the blades are disengaged

My 1400 is 8 still runs good
Shame they didn't add some sort of drip diverter for the oil filter.
I love my 2020 troy bilt bronco I bought it this year paid 550 was only 3 times I love it
New to me my newest mower I've ever had
It's the same exact as the Cub cadet just another color... So if you hate your Cub cadet you will definitely hate your Craftsman...😊
Did they do away with the hour meter?
You know….i didn’t even notice that. Good spotting!
@@kev-reviewsyou can buy a hour meter for them…the wiring is hidden behind the tank ready to plug and go.
Black pulleys look painted. Weren't the old ones yellow zinc? (Zinc is sacrificial to steel, preventing rust.)
I don’t know if they were zinc, but I don’t recall black. Which as you said, is probably paint to shave costs

Gas doesn’t matter if it doesn’t stay together
Get a v twin
This is the tight turn?
Yes. This mower has turn tight
they got to stop putting vents in the hoods 😅
Why is that?
17.5 horse 42 inch
K-46 only way to go with the v-twin engine 😊, deck is very light weight and blades are 60 bucks each 😢😢😢
I never even looked at the price of the blades. Wowzers! I guess that’s what happens when they’re the only source for a critical part
Just keep it serviced and it will last a few years 😢
