- The importance of sexual expression in older adults remains a controversial topic despite the positive relationship between sexual functioning and quality of life across the lifespan. In this talk, Dr. Kukkonen encourages us to examine and discuss sexuality in older adults and challenges some of the societal biases that limit our understanding of sex and aging.
Dr. Tuuli Kukkonen is a clinical psychologist, assistant professor, and director of the psychophysiology of sexual health laboratory at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Married for 15 years. I’m 55 she is 42. Yesterday we did it 3 times in one day. We have four kids. When I see her that’s enough for me. My love grows everyday and that keeps me young.

It is so great to see so much positivity from 50+ posters...We are 72 and 74 and have been together 40 yrs...It was always good but is even better now! We are better rested, less distracted by other concerns, and more into compersion (pleasure from seeing the otjer persons pleasure) than we were when younger.100% monogamous,not making any judgements here we know people who have triads the same three people since the 1960s!

It's so true that life just feels like enduring strife after 40.
Isn't it awesome? The older you get with your spouse, the more comfortable. The more comfortable, the less awkward and the more fulfilling. Can't wait 'till we're 80 or 90. Sure, the energy goes down, but the loving experience keeps increasing!

Yes Imma 74 yo woman with a 78yo mate of 40 yrs..never been better I am always multi orgasmic now...also HE takes longer a very very good thing...he has more patience and less urgency. I heard a man 101 y/o who died holding his 6 months old baby and 23 y/o wife. He had time after retirement spending time with his wife. I was gone most of the time when I was first married to support my family. I was gone over 50% working. Then I was gone time going to college ent school, training as a firefighter, and paramedic school. I was a fire inspector, hazard material training, and recertification training.

I think what you have overlooked is that it is ok to live with yourself. The "price" of many relationships is far to dear. An English wit once said the position is untenable and it is messy at best.

@@gregsiska Failure to achieve financial success during working years results in "just getting by" during senior years. Many seniors are living on SocSec alone, or perhaps a disability payment as well. That limits opportunities greatly.
@@user-qr2gd7me6c I'm retired and I am struggling to understand why being poor could limit meeting women. Just get involved in a church, a dance, a community center, or visit a library, a supermarket, or anywhere and introduce yourself to someone who looks interesting, and repeat as needed.

At 68, I am a widow since 2013. Also had total hysterectomy back in 2000? Even though I might still like looking at good looking men, I don't, how should I say it, have the juices on demand. Lol! Sex would be more difficult, but one at my age, could still enjoy romantic relationships and non-penetration sex with a gentleman and I do mean a gentleman. Omg I had to say it. Lol!

Sure, at the outset, there may be simple scientific curiosity, or there may be a reasonable hypothesis - which then requires research, analysis, and peer-group assessment before it is put out (mostly via publishing in one form or another) to the larger scientific, and ultimately general public. What would be the point of the quoted statistics if it was “only her opinion “ ?

You can meet women if you leave your home and join an activity that interests you. You might not even have to wait until the Pandemic is over! Go to a dance, to church events, join a social club, visit a local fair, just get out of the house.

@@yajeman That is just one woman's viewpoint! You are falling into a logical error called "over-generalizing". Yes, you are likely to find some failures when you try to meet women. But you only really need one success to have a happy relationship, or even a marriage. My wife's former boyfriend before she met me was both old and poor, and it made no difference to her because he provided the companionship she wanted.
Look: when you used to look for a job, did you expect to find one right away, or did you expect to have to go to lots of interviews that did not work out before you found a good job? Finding a partner is a lot like finding a job. So kick yourself in the rear and start thinking creatively about how you can combine interesting activities with improving your chances of meeting a woman who is right for you.
