Check your Country's laws before you install airbag bypass. It could be ILLEGAL!
We demonstrated how we installed a passenger seat air bag bypass on BMW e65/E66 and it worked. It did not receive a code again for the seat occupancy mat.
We also have installed some on BMW e46 e60 e83 e61 e90 e92 e92 and it worked great.
This is just informational video and way to diagnose that your seat mat is bad for sure. The RIGHT WAY is to replace your seat mat.

I were try that kind of module in my BMW x3 it works great but the thing is it always discharge the battery for overnight sleep. So I cannot recommend, just change the occupancy mat sensor.

Hi bimmermerchant,,, thanks for the video this video fixed my airbag issue, but there is a clip that has come loose from under the seat and I do not know where that will connect. when I pull the clip it will rise the seatbelt up. If you watch this video of yours you can see this clip @ 1:24 which is laying right next to the firewall. I appreciate it if you could help me to locate the instance with an video or photo

Hi there I have a 2005 bmw x3 and yesterday bought the bypass as it kept flashing up on my dash so I plugged it underneath the seat as you did and cleared the code but after 30 mins of disappearing it came back up again anyone else experienced this please help all advice appreciated.

There's no module in my e66 in the location shown
On my E36 you have to remove the seat to get to the connectors as they are under the center of the seat.
Will the passenger airbag work on impact
After the bypass, it will work by default, the sensor will always consider the passenger’s seat as occupied regardless.

I installed an occupancy mat bypass in my 1998 Bmw M Roadster and now whenever the bypass is installed the occupancy mat error light goes off but the passenger side pre-tensioner light come on. The pre-tensioner only comes on when I have the occupancy bypass installed. This is on a 1998 Bmw M Roadster, can anyone give me some insight?
I think it's because your bypass simulate someone in passenger but the passenger side pre-tensioner is not use. you must custom another cable under the seat

FOR THOSE WHO ARE WONDERING YES!!!! YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE THE CODE CLEARED VIA A BMW OBD 2 COMPUTER NOT THE AUTO STORE 20 DOLLAR CHEAP ONES!!!!!
ALSO BONUS ADVICE: go to your local salvage/ junk yard and take a knife or blade and just cut out a mat from a same year model car, I personally replaced me e93 (convertible 2011 bmw 328i) with a sensor from an e92 coupe. Mats are able to be used on either passenger or driver, it does NOT matter! Total job cost me 7usd. Got code cleared by random local import shop because it only takes 2 min for them to do it and they'll usually do it to keep you as a customer! So call your local shops to get it cleared free! Screw bypassing it get it legit fixed less than 10usd

i thought un hooking ur battery and touching the neg and pos wires together for 10 15 mins clears all the codes.

Do you disable the battery when installing the bypass?
No need to, as long as you don’t unplug the whole seat. Make sure to clear the fault code with an OBD2 machine afterwards though.

I understand the idea of trying to protect yourself by saying "No kids will be riding in this car, we're adults and we understand the risks of the bypass".
But in a vehicle with passenger air bags a child should never sit in that seat regardless. Airbags are deadly to children, and at least in my BMW you cannot disable the passenger airbag. So this bypass is actually safer for children than the functioning factory set up.
Well this bypass means that the airbag will be enabled always. Having a functioning sensormat disables the airbags when a child is sitting there. So the safest for children would be having a functioning sensormat. But put the kids in the back of the car and using a bypass for the sensor is way cheaper and a good fix.
@@tonyhyvonen3239 I guess it didn't cross my mind that this bypass could be telling the car there is weight, or there isn't weight in the seat.
This bypass is telling the car that there is an adult sitting in the passengerseat at all times. The sensormat function was implemented not only to save children from airbagdamage, but also keeping the costs down in case of crash, cause deployment of both airbags is more expensive to fix rather than one. That is if you are sitting alone in the car of course, otherwise it’s just more safe. Telling the car there isnt weight in the seat is the same as disabling it.

when i unplug mine e61 2005 euromodel i get airbag light and open fault code.... so no i think its a diode and resistor...
