My 2008 e82 (135i) has just had the same Airbag and seatbelt light show up on the dash. My big fat brother in law sat in the seat and maybe has broken the bloody sensor.
Still cant figure out how to remove that side plastic trim. It's still holding somewhere around where seatbelt is atached. Yours was loose there already.
@@ayyildiz-vg3on run the codes on the car. If you have 93c3 code under the restraints system check, then you have a bad passenger occupancy sensor, aka the thing he replaced. If you have any codes like 93a9 or 93b5 or anything similar and just off by number, then it’s your seat belt buckle itself. It has a pyro charge in the rail that blows to lock the seat belt during a crash. If the plastic is all scrunched up under the buckle and isn’t smooth, then it’s been blown already and you will have code saying seatbelt restraint system failure. So it could be your seat if you have the occupancy sensor failed, which if you buy a new seat, if that sensor is also new, then yes it would fix it. Or you could just replace the sensor as it’s that easy. But if you’re seatbelts buckles are failed then that’s what will need replacing
Like... airbags are around since ~60's. So, the authors says that before there was any occupancy sensors invented, EVERYONE was in a true danger because apparently it is "unsafe" to drive without this sensor! Now is see why we have demographics issues. That's because all these people since 60's was driving without this sensor. I hope that now, since we have this sensor invented, our demographics will improve. :)
Did you notice the part where with the 'sensor' not working the airbag is off! So you can have a passenger in your car with an air bag in front of them that doesn't deploy in an accident. So sorry but your point??? My point is don't be so cheep as to not properly maintain your safety equipment. And don't unknowingly turn it off for your passengers.
Could not have done this job without your video, many thanks 👍
Good on you for getting it done. 😃 MRT
Excellent! This video helped me realize I could do it myself. Thank you!

I'm having the same issue and I'm pretty sure there is a bolt there that needs to be removed
After the new mat install you just reinstalled the seat in the car and the error is gone? Or you needed some sort of error reset or coding?
FOR THOSE WONDERING YESSS YOU DO NEED TO HAVE THE CODE CLEARED WITH THE BMW OBD 2 COMPUTERS NOT THE AUTO STORE ONES!!!!!
This was done with a Snapon machine
A number of solutions, including bimmergeeks protool, carly, Ista+, maxisys autel snapon matco etc all can do it.
Hello, what year models is this compatible with? My x3 is 2005. I want to make sure before purchasing part. Excellent tutorial btw . Thank you 🙏🏾
When you buy the part check compatibility with your vin number. You can use a site like realoem.com
I have the same problem in my e90. Can i fix this with a new seat.

Excellent vid. Are you familiar with e46 seats? Thanks.
Are those weight sensos any different from non heated seats?
These are not heated seats
@@Marksreviewsandtutorials mine are. thats why i asked.
Do you know the OEM part number for this sensor? Is it the same for all vehicles? 2009 E70 front passenger side?
He put the Pn in video. Otherwise use realoem.com and input your vin.
Is this mat also for heated seats??
no this mat is just a sensor not a heater. MRT
Rings are called hog rings in case you need to order them
I hate those damn cameras on people's heads
Think I'll bypass it in 60 seconds lol
