BMW Passengers seat occupancy sensor replacement

This BMW 1 series had a passengers seat occupancy sensor fault. We removed a very dirty seat, stripped and replaced the occupancy sensor.

That’s the grossest seat ever. No wonder the sensor failed. Helpful video, thanks for making and I hope you were able to get your hands clean after dealing with that mess.

Good video. I would definitely have worn gloves looking at the stains on that seat. What have they been doing 😮

Yes gloves would have been nice but they snag at times especially on the the sharp frame edges.

So my car has this problem … the seat occupancy sensor for the passenger side and it’s triggering the airbag light and now feel like airbags have deployed inside the sides of the seats .. could you replace the full seat and do a swap or not .. new seat is 100 pound on eBay .. got quoted 200 pound just to fix the passenger side seat occupancy sensor

Hi, you'll know if an airbag has deployed in the seat, as the side of your seat would be ripped to shreds. Most of these don't have side airbags unless it says 'airbag' or 'SRS' on the side of the seat. This is such a common issue that buying used may only buy you the same problem. As of right now if the airbag light is on it means your airbags will not deploy during an accident. Just ask yourself this "is my son's safety worth £200"
