    My ex drained me of nearly all I had and then divorced me when I lost my job during the 08 crash. She remarried 3 months later, but her new husband lost his job 3 days later. Here is the good part. While she was visiting her parents, he took her prized antiques and sold them for living money. It was sweet justice.

      My stepdaughter left her abusive husband and came back home, got a job, and reactivated her childhood savings account in the local credit union.
      But, its online banking was not as "user friendly" (her words) as her big name bank's.
      So, she started having her pay direct deposited to her old account, and her husband promptly wiped out all her money.
      That's when I had asked her why she started using her old account and got the user friendly response.
      Better off a little more difficult than gone.

    First story lessons:
    1. NEVER open joint accounts with ANYONE. Keep finances separate, ALWAYS;
    2. If you're a cheating and stealing piece of garbage, never let your dates find out about your dirtiness. They WILL use it against you if you anger them enough.

      I used to work for a bank, and I have to say that Joint Accounts are such a HUGE hassle, even if the couple never have a disagreement that affects that money. Both parties have to agree to make any changes to the account (except for closing it)...if one person passes away, the account has to be closed completely...and, any court-ordered payments for either person can target the account.
      There is just no benefit to a joint account that is worth the troubles they cause. Especially when it is always an option for the couple to each have their own account that they each make the other person an authorized card carrier for.

    • @jagirl966
      @jagirl966 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Some coworkers make fun of me because I'm Autistic, but then I remind them where we work and and that there is a chance of one of our residents or their family members maybe Autistic and you could get into a lot of trouble for bullying me.
      Sure enough, a family came to visit and one of the kids was on the spectrum and came running to ask us something when they heard me being bullied again. He ran back to his mom crying because he thought they were talking about him. (I have a unisex name and apparently it was the kid's name, too.)
      Our bosses called them over about teasing a little kid and the CNAs let it slip they were messing with me. The dad said he was a lawyer and he'd sue them on my behalf, if I wanted, as it had gotten to where it could be considered a hate crime.
      I told him my cousin is also a lawyer and that I only have to put up with these coworkers a couple days a month, due to our schedules and would be happy if they would just leave me alone.
      The bosses did better and fired them. I gave the kid a bar of Jack o' Lantern soap I made that I brought in because our soap dispenser was broken and he cheered up. Rarely saw them again, but the kid always thanked me because he believed he would be allowed to work when he got older because of his Autism.
      I just told him, "It's tough and some days are better than others, but just because we're Autistic, doesn't mean we're stupid" and listed off celebrities who have similar or worse disabilities and, with the right support, we could do any job.

      Police did nothing & I got the same blah blah like OP
      The only thing they really did something about was the SA he did to me.
      My ex left the UK & he finally got arrested in one of the Eastern European countries after several years & got extradited back & got tried for the SAs
      Currently he is in prison for half of the sentence & the rest will be on probation & once he's released he will be deported to were he originally is from.

      Some years back, I was naive enough to get my boyfriend an "authorized user" card on one of my credit accounts without setting a spending limit. I actually thought he understood that it was for emergencies only. BIG mistake; within a few months, he charged $5,000+. My previously excellent credit rating went down the drain, and I was unable to build it back up. (I became disabled right around that time, and terminally ill later.)
      A word to the wise: no joint accounts, no joint credit cards! You can both contribute to household finances, major purchases, vacations, etc. - no need to combine your earnings in one account.

    • @Nevertoleave
      @Nevertoleave ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My husband and I have a joint account, joint credit card, and our separate accounts. Almost everything goes into the joint account and just a bit goes into the personal accounts. We also both hate putting anything on credit so it’s for stuff like hotel rooms and when my sister places a pick up order for her groceries which she then pays back once she gets the receipt and can confirm that nothing is missing from her order.
      That being said I know a few people that tried to pull al kinds of crap when divorcing. And old boss had his ex wife try to claim half of his family’s business. She said she helped build it, a business his parent had bought when he was like 2. Needless to say that didn’t work. And an in-law who’s wife basically killed his business because she refused to do any of the joint paperwork, grinding everything to a halt. My granny who cleaned out the joint accounts after her cheating spouse ran off with his girlfriend.
      My husband hates this one friend of his mother because that’s basically what she does for a living. She dates well off guys, marries them, then divorces and takes all she can. Moving on to her next target. He’s convinced that she talked his mom into leaving his dad

    In the last story, it was absolutely NOT overkill, and 100% justified. Had OP not had security cam footage, he would have been arrested, and very possibly convicted. Hell, he could have even been shot by the police had he misunderstood any commands. He definitely would have had all his guns confiscated, and possibly become a convicted felon with a hefty prison sentence to serve. Gun related crimes get hefty penalties. The asshole deserved every bit of what he got, since he actually was in fact breaking firearm offenses. I hope he got at least a decade in prison if not more with huge fines for killing the endangered species.

    Last story: OP might have been petty, but not over the top. His uncle was storing firearms that where illegal to own (that in most nations means they are either too powerful, or too easily concealed for a private owner to have as a fireable weapon instead of a collection piece) and also being a reckless firearm owner. Not to mention shooting and killing animals in your yard in most places is illegal regardless of if you live in the city or in the country; unless the animal is in season or on an active game list and you happen live on a hunting lot where that animal just walked onto the property shooting at an animal is reckless and illegal. Things like this will get you arrested and charged with some pretty serious crimes regardless of how the police find them, and usually a person described the way the uncle was described will get caught one way or another eventually since they are far to public about it. The only thing that makes this petty is that OP appears to have felt no need to act on the fact that his uncle was reckless and shouldn't own firearms until the uncle crossed him.

    In story 4, the Uncle swatted the nephew. If things had not gone right, the nephew could have been killed. If the nephew had been found guilty of the “assault,” he’d have lost his freedom and his guns (as well as his right to own any future guns). His revenge was perfect. The uncle reaped what he sewed.

    I dated this girl for two years and we had a joint account. It was mainly her money so when we broke up I didn’t think about the amount. After a few weeks I checked on the account and it had $1 in it. I asked about it and my ex took all the money out but was not able to close the account cause I was the main account holder. I took the dollar and closed the account… two days later my ex showed up at my job and began to scream that I stole her dollar and she wouldn’t leave until I gave it to her. I threatened to call security and she left. When I got back to my desk she left me a note “F**k you dollar theif” (yes she misspelled thief)

    I don't think OP went overboard having his uncle arrested at all.
    1. He was acting entitled to someone else's expensive property, which while not illegal, is just the tip of the iceberg and the only legal a-hole act he committed.
    2. He tried to assault OP, with the fact that he had BEAR SPRAY being the only thing stopping him because he had been MACED BEFORE, meaning it wasn't the first time someone had to resort to such an extreme in order to protect themselves from him.
    3. He called police on OP for defending themselves with a -nonlethal- "LeThAl" weapon, which such an event had a chance higher than 0 of resulting in OP's death.
    4. He would fire guns unnecessarily in the middle of a populated area, where he could have ended up hurting someone, and is HIGHLY ILLEGAL.
    5. He would kill animals indiscriminately, resulting in him killing an endangered animal. There were better ways for him to deal with animals on his property, starting with installing lights or cameras to gather information on why animals would come and how best to deter them. After the trash? Secure the trash bins, or keep them inside the garage until pickup day. Family cat unspayed and attracting males? Get her spayed. Just... anything. He could have tried just about anything else.
    6. He possessed illegal weapons, which I get that some areas have dumb laws on what is and isn't legal, the fact that someone so temperamental and with such little regard for laws and safety would likely collect guns deep in the "ILLEGAL FOR A REASON" territory.
    7. The police raid on his house may have been "the final straw" for his wife, potentially after a long time dealing with an aggressive and disrespectful husband whose very actions and decisions led directly to the raid. Good for her for escaping such an awful man.
    He's proven himself time and again to be an armed menace, so it's better for the public as a whole that OP turned them in. He had violated so many laws and restrictions, and had threatened the wellbeing of others.

    Last one was not overkill at all. Shooting any game species without a license/tag/permit is very illegal and carries hefty fines. Poaching an elk gets you a fine of 10 grand or more, depending on if it is trophy or non trophy. A trophy bison, heaven forbid, gets you upwards of 30k. These are legal, non endangered species (heavily protected on the bison). Depending on what that guy was shooting, he could get anywhere from 50k fine to a felony. Per animal. Plus he was doing it in city limits. He's gonna be in there for a loooooooong time.

He quit his job as a over the road truck driver and began harasssing her, threatening bodily harm to me and my daughter and to kidnap my granddaughter and take her to the UK. Revenge: We filed a permanent protective order against him. I live on tribal land and if he starts something, it's automatically federal. Since he has a PO against him, he is now on a no fly list. We reported him, since he was collecting Social Security Disability and making way too much money.
