I know I'm the 20th person to say so but thank you so much for this effort. I am not naturally mechanically inclined but for the last few years I've been doing all my own maintenance out of necessity and prohibitive labor costs. It's been a journey. I'll be starting this project this weekend and your video has given definitely cleared up so many questions.
Kawasaki made a new bolt with a hole through it for more oil flow to correct the stator failures. I ordered mine from bike bandit. The price has gone up its around $50 now. I found this on a forum from last year. Just thought I'd pass the info along. The new rotor bolt with the oil hole for Vulcan 900 from www.partzilla.com part # 92154-1357 and the washer that goes with it part # 92200-0220. $27.97 for the bolt and $3.91 for the washer. Shipping was $7.95. Total is $39.83.
Hello I'm about to do this job ..i have one question? Does it matter wich white wire you connect to the oem harness ..there are 3 white wires or doesn't matter wich white wire it is...thanks
I just asked the same question a few minutes ago, hopefully we both get the answer sometime soon. That was something that was definitely questionable for me
Good video, I have the exact same 2009 model, 64k miles now and the battery does not charge on the bike anymore, having to charge it every day. I installed a power commander and new air system then I started getting this issue days later, probably coincidence. Replaced the regulator/rectifier still same problem so guessing I will have to do this and replace the stator. Under the seat is a connector socket coming from the stator, with the bike in idle im getting 9.5v, when reving it goes up to 12.4v, but when rev harder I get no voltage signal. Real pain in the @... I had a cooling fan issue for a few weeks and the bike was over heating a lot until I repaired the fan, is it possible this over heating cooked the stator? How has this Ricks stator performed as will buy one if ok?

i have a v900 2012 class, is this the same instructions, and how much and where to find stator? what symptoms would you have in order 2replace it? thanks!
Yes it's the same. The bikes are the same basically. Symptoms would be battery not charging. Use voltmeter to check battery. Should hold at 14 volts at 3,000rpms.
the wires from the stator go the the rectifier and it's rather difficult to route them so most people leave the harness in place unless a short is detected... hope this helps
saludos desde la cdmx muy interesantes tus videos ayudan mucho quisiera hacerte una pregunta podrias orientarme donde conseguir el tour pack y alforjas que tiene tu moto gracias
now if only someone can show a video on how the wire is run, i ordered a brand new stator, but apparently to run it i have to go behind the wheel thing and its a pain in the ass

Thanks for the video and for posting all the torque specs for he bolts. It was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Cleared up a lot of things in my mind before I started tearing my bike apart
What wires on starter go to existing harness wires
Thank you so much for sharing Man and taking from your time to show how is it done
Hello. How can i check if the wires have a short? Can u please explain how to do it with the multimeter. Thanks.
What kind of sealant do you use as the stator leads?

@@FRJ1982
It does not matter.
It the same voltage coming out of each one.
@@Thesaurcery4U2C thanks
This is the best hack. I’ve seen nice job.
Lo de cortar los cables para soltarlos con la instalación antigua, creo que sería mejor sacar los cables viejos y poner los que vienen en el estator
Do you have to solder on the wires or can you jutlst out a barrel connector?
Thanks so much for this. I plan on doing mine over the winter as a preventive. So only sealant on wire lead grommets and none on the gasket. OK.
Gasket is installed dry

You didn't have to pull the pulley out and belt?
Great video and info. Can I please know what type of saddlebags that you have on your bike?

Благодарю за информацию. Очень помогло видео🤝
did you use high temp solder or was it just normal 60/40?

great video, i didn't see what wires you spliced and how tho, did I miss it? Also, did u have2drain the oil to replace stator? thanks!!!
No need to drain the oil
@@jamesmcguckin6288 why not?
Why did you replace stator? Battery not charging or just wanted better stator?
Why cut the wires when a new stator comes with everything already attached.

this was exceedingly useful thanks very much

How's the Rick stator?
What do you do with the 3 shorter wires coming out of the stator?
there is only 3 wires from the stator and they splice into the 3 white wires from the rectifier
@@sillysquiddiveproductions9117 no specific order or certain wire to certain wire?
Where did you buy the gasket from?

bravo merci du partage !
Do you have to drain the oil?
Yes, first steep.
I would never cut the wires. If you take weight off the back wheel the pully comes off quite easily.
FYI you don’t need to remove the belt pulls cover
Nice job but save yourself all that work with cutting wires and get a RMstator which is a direct plug and play
You were better off leaving the music off 27 min of that noise will have my ears bleeding.
