    Great review as always. I have the 2021 Premium. It is plenty quick without the turbo and easily merges onto the highway. I do not understand why so many reviewers think this car is slow. Incredible comfortable and quiet ride. Great value for the money. You do not need the turbo. Save your money.

    Great review! Thank you so much. It sounds like it's not worth it to step up to the turbo model, so I imagine that I'd settle for the non-turbo and hope that I wouldn't regret it too much. The biggest plus to me for the Legacy is it's looks. It's gorgeous to me.

    One of the most detailed reviews out of all the reviews I've seen. Even though all Subarus share the same platform, the Legacy and Outback drive so different or at least feel very different. I have to go test drive again and make a call then!

    Excellent review. I just tested the XT with the turbo engine. I completely agree with the reviewer‘s critique: the engine and the turbo just doesn’t match well with the CVT. But he is also dead on with his positive assessment of the steering and the ride comfort, they’re both excellent. I would ask folks here this: I found the car more enjoyable on back roads than highways; on highways it was almost too comfortable, like you were driving in a sofa disconnected from the drive experience. Does anyone else have a similar experience?

    You said the Legacy does not utilized acoustic glass but that is incorrect because it does on upper trim models. I do agree with you on one thing and that’s a bit of turbo lag at take off but I suspect the Legacy is happiest in the mid to upper rev band. Oh one other thing, do you think the Legacy’s interior at the level of the Mazda 6?

    Nice channel and reviews
    2 questions:
    1) I've looked at this review and your Honda Accord review and the Legacy gets 7/10 for quietness whereas you give the Accord 9/10 - I'm questioning whether you think there is really that much difference in the quietness between the two cars given it's an important criteria for me?
    2) Which has the better ride quality (ie smoothness over bumps) between the Accord and Legacy, and is the handling of the Legacy as good as the handling of the Accord?
    thanks

    • @DriversOnly
      @DriversOnly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Legacy's engine was much louder and overall cabin noise was also a bit louder. The Accords interior is dead quiet, so quiet you think something is wrong. Same goes with engine...you can barely hear it. With that said, with the radio up, you're not going to have a problem in the Legacy. As for handling, I felt they were both comparable. The Legacy does have the AWD advantage where the Accord did not. Hope this helps.

    Subaru, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Nissan, Volvo, and Acura are some of the brands that used to focus on making cars fun but now got addicted to making cars profitable.
    The WRX/STi are very outdated. We will see what they can do in the redesign.
    Mitsubishi has completely lost it. Mirage, Outlander Sport, Outlander, Eclipse Cross are all trash.
    Volkswagen has the Golf R, but seems like they would rather have consumers buy the Atlas and Tiguan than that. I miss the R32 Golf, R36 Passat, VR6 Jetta and Golf, CC 3.6, Phaeton, W8 Passat, and the W12 Touareg.
    Nissan’s been making the same GTR and 370Z since Bush was still in office. Now they are in love with CVTs.
    Volvo used to make glorious cars like the V70 R, S80 V8, and the 850R now they cars with four cylinders only. Every single model’s got pretty much the same engine.
    Acura used to make the TL Type S and the RSX. The TLX A spec is nice but it’s missing the WOW factor. Don’t have $250g for an NSX.
    I know selling SUVs help you stay in business. Every single performance car from these manufacturers are missing the WOW factor. They just do not feel special anymore. I don’t need the big screen or blah blah blah. I miss it when they put most of the R&D budget into powertrain. Now it’s all into the usability and ergonomics.

      I concur. I think they achieved a good balance in the 2019 - 2020 Forester however. While the infotainment system controls all the entertainment and basic vehicle settings, there are separate physical controls for HVAC, heated seats, X-Mode, and auto start/stop. The separate switch for auto start/stop is a must for me since I turn it off every time I drive the car.
      Unfortunately it seems like the trend among manufacturers is to put as many controls and settings in the infotainment center as possible.

    • @johnnyj.817
      @johnnyj.817 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was looking at the Forester as an alternative, but if I go for a compact SUV then the market opens up to a lot more choices. I feel that the Legacy's biggest advantage (for me) is that sedan drivers get a bit higher ground clearance for those Winter snow over other sedans.

      Touchscreens rely on either resistive or capacitative sensor. Resistive doesn't have multi-touch and capacitive doesn't respond to wet or covered fingers. Plus no touch feedback, and the screen lagging, and cost to repair, I would avoid touchscreen as much as possible. Do like the 2020 Forester dual central display though.
