My first new car was a 2003 RSX-S in the exclusive electric blue. That car was amazing! The K20A was a Mecca of a power plant. To me this was the ultimate fwd sports car. It was a dream to own! Every morning there was one piece of road I would wind the engine out to 8200 and it was like turbo. Just made my day every day. And cable driven throttle. These really are special cars.

Yes, they do. You are not looking carefully. When you take your head out of you rear end you will realize that the new ones are better than this but people like you demand for turbo's and N/A cars are lesser performer, hence you can;t see the merit what is in front of you TODAY.

Well, I think you are completely unaware from the motive behind the post. This hater is not going to put this remark under a European junk car. The subliminal manipulation here is that "Current Honda's are not as good as the old one's." It is not new cars, it is new Honda's that's what he is implying. So, it is time for you to wake up a little.
"they simply do not make them like this anymore because of the simple fact that technology has advanced so far."
It is advanced for all brands yet you will not here anyone saying this idiotic thing under an older European junk. They will continue to praise the newer model and they even praise the new technology that the Europeans put in their cars.
So, wake up. You are subliminally manipulated to shy away from newer Honda's and pushed towards the newer European junks.

As you have an idea from the video, It's so much fun to drive and even though looks are subjective, it really has a look that appeals to me even today. Hope I can keep driving it for a long time no matter how old I get... :)

I’m on my third Dc5 and still have a 95’.Dc2. These Suzuka made Acuras were masterpieces. Easy to drive, easy to park, you can squeeze through places due to their small footprint. Easy and super low cost maintenance. Great visibility all around. Test drove the new tlx, a chore to get in and out. Big on the outside, small and tighter than the Integra/Rsx on the inside for such a wide and long car. You’re going to get a lot of door dings from other cars. Finally, picked up a 21’ boost blue CTR and it has filled a pretty good chunk of the big shoes from the Suzuka gems. Never got on s2000 train because I’m a tall and wide guy that needs his car to have decent cargo space with a hatchback to haul stuff. CTR and Integra are just brilliant.

I've got an 03 Type S and it's a super fun car to rev out and blast through corners (vtec is very addicting). It never fails to put a smile on my face. Considering how difficult it is to find a clean example of an RSX, and prices becoming ridiculously unreasonable for most older Japanese sports cars (even in poor condition), I'll be keeping this thing until it dies, which could take a while. My family has had in total 4 Hondas with the K series motor throughout my life; none had issues even with high kilometers. Just keep up with maintenance and they run forever

I'd love to see a longer video featuring this car, but thanks for sharing what you could. This was one of the very last Honda cars that I found really appealing (even though I prefer rear-wheel-drive cars). With a high-revving, naturally-aspirated gem of an engine, no infotainment or other irritating screens, no electronic throttle control, etc., there is a lot to love here and few things that irritate me. That all of this is packaged in what I feel is a really attractive overall design is the icing on the cake. Safety regulations have brought a lot of benefits since the early 2000"s, but better looking cars isn't one of them.
I realize that the previous generation Integra benefitted from a double wishbone setup and a better chassis (along with things like a LSD in the case of the Integra Type R). Yet while countless people consider the ITR to be the pinnacle when it comes to a front-wheel-drive driving experience, this RSX Type-S represents less of a track-focused car that brings its own benefits to the table. I have little doubt that I could have plenty of fun with one of these cars and they are aging rather gracefully in my opinion.

I just ran out front to make sure my car was still there. I bought it to be a cheap(er) daily to keep Mike's off my Nissan, and absolutely fell in love with it. It just works. Its fun. It's still economical, and after full Bolt ons and gears,, it's surprisingly "quick" (see..I didn't say fast..)

Last November 2023, I bought a 2004 Acura RSX-S in Milano Red with only 37K miles, no accidents. It now has only 38K miles (I have a daily beater driver that I use for work, shopping; etc.). It's pretty much a garage queen, but I love it. It still has the stock exhaust, just like this RSX-S in the video. I enjoy a quiet drive. I knew I had to jump on it when I saw the ad. I'm never going to sell it.

Still haven't had the chance to experience the RSX (outside of a slightly rough 160hp automatic many years ago for my old job). The closest I've come to the Type S I've driven were a couple of Si sedans (FA5). and mostly enjoyed them (though one was on harsh coilovers). What I love about the RSX in comparison are the gauges.
The digital gauges of the 2006+ Si and even the S2000 (which I also enjoyed) simply don't hit the spot of a needle swinging through a clean gauge face. The speedometer numbers flicking away with gaps during a pull (45, 52, 61-- what, you can't keep up?) just doesn't cut it. Even in todays cars where the digital gauges can keep up, it's not the same as a swinging needle... thinking of the FR-S versus GR86. for example, I miss those old gauges.
This era will always be a favorite of mine, having grown up in it, reading the buff books and watching the WRX and (of all things) Nissan Altima change the landscape of their respective markets, American manufactures started Nurburgring testing, the Cayman came along, etc. The real decline started happening around 2012 in my eyes, with very few exceptions.

    If I’m not mistaken, didn’t the 05-06 make 210hp over the 02-04 200hp?
Also that’s so cool it said it has heated mirrors? Didn’t know the RSX ever got that feature

I wanted one of these so bad when I was 16 in 2006. I was fortunate to have my parents get me a car, and I tried like hell to convince them of at least the base RSX. Of course there was no chance in reality. Today I actually own the closest you could get to this new, a 2020 Civic Sport Coupe with a manual. On paper it’s very close to the base RSX, but deep down I know it’s still lacking some of that visceral feel.
