I am a certified shiny Brown coat and I have the tattoo to prove it. I grew up watching Star trek the original series in it's first airing but Firefly is the only fandom I ever became involved with. Firefly was murdered in its cradle by callus Fox executives who had no clue what they had in their hands. It still has strong fan loyalty 17 years later. Long may the brown coats live!
Insane to think that 4.7m was "low" compared to shows now that have lower viewer numbers with complete seasons and get renewed... Also, I religiously re-watch Firefly once a year and enjoy it everytime.
worked with a guy who lent me the DVD set. Took 5 months to watch it, never was a Buffy fan and that was his selling point. Had two days off (IN A ROW!) so I started the pilot. Didn't eat. Watched the whole season. Next day, fiancè at the time came over, she did the same. Sold on the pilot. Then my Ma visited the next day. Well ... you know how this will play out. I watched all 14 episodes three times in three days. Every few months I do it again. And my favorite thing? I see a little something new every time. The best cast, the best written, the most beautifully shot, the best lit show. And the fact that the Serenity was one large, continuous set? BRILLIANT. "Saw that comin'"
Yeah seriously, its only because it was on Fox. On a lot of other networks thats still higher than a lot of their best shows. Also imagine if it had been shown in the correct order on a better time slot how well it would have done.
Worth mentioning, Adam Baldwin had a recurring guest spot on "Angel". He also had smaller, but significant roles in the movies "Independence Day" and "The Patriot". Nathan Fillion had an interesting bit part in the movie "Blast From the Past" playing the jerk.
Ron Glass as a DJ "Venus Flytrap" in the comedy WKRP in Cinncinati in 1979 to 1982 right after Barney Miller had a great following, shame to have missed one of his iconic roles
It's a shame most of the Joss Whedon crossovers were not mentioned. Summer Glau and Alan Tudyk on Dollhouse, Gina Torres and Adam Baldwin on Angel, Sean Maher and Nathan Fillion in Much Ado About Nothing, also Nathan in Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog. At least we got the mention of Summer Glau in Angel, she was phenomenal in that small role.
Alan Tudyk also appeared in a great episode of Frasier as a internet billionaire who bought the radio station, and then copied Frasier's apartment, etc. etc... Season 8 Episode 4, "The Great Crane Robbery" November 14, 2000
The series Firefly and the movie Serenity was awesome. The reboot with a new cast, I see that pretty much dead in space. I could be wrong though if it does happen!!!
My wife & I were looking at houses in the Hollywood Hills years ago and found a really nice, modest house with great views. I researched it and found that it had been Ron Glass's house until he passed away. It had a totally great but modest actor vibe...but in the end was out of our league by quite a bit of $$$.
I've lost count of how many dozens times I have watched the series and movie but multiply it by 100k to get how many times I have wished it had had a longer run! I worry a reboot will try to be what was instead of what comes after. Maybe it could display descendents of the original cast or fans of the original crew continuing in their footsteps.
Firefly was the cast, not the story. Rebooting with original cast might have a slim chance but a new cast makes no sense. It was very much dependent on the cast in a specific time. It's just ben to long from the original. Blame Rupert Murdock for the worst decision in scify history.
@@miuvietv9348 Happens 😆 it was much more recent. And with all the voice acting roles Alan and Nathan take amongst all the guest starring roles, its not unreasonable to miss something
When I found out Nathan Fillion is voicing Cayde-6 I bought the game immediately! Then they killed off the character and I was like F this, im not playing anymore, Firefly 2.0 hapening
Enjoyable video. Nathan Fillon has another memorable acting credit. Soap opera fans will remember him as Joey Buchanan, Viki's middle child. During his 3 years in the role, Joey had a steamy love affair with his mother's contemporary and mortal enemy (and step-mother), Dorian Lord. He was nominated for an Emmy and returned for the show's 9999th and 10,000th shows. He was the first to play Joey as an adult (the character grew up on the show) and was a favorite among soap fans. Here's a clip: th-cam.com/video/6tMBgTTE9Bc/w-d-xo.html
Gina had a far from insignificant Role in "Angel". Even if a lot of People tend to talk trash about that Season. And then there's "The Dollhouse" as well...
As much as I wanted the information you were presenting I couldn’t listen to that hyper monologue. Slow down, dude. Are you afraid someone will hear what you’re saying?

I just watched all of it again this week. Can’t believe it’s almost 20 years old. It kicks ass still to this day! This show not on air is a tragedy.
All FireFly Fans Raise a Glass to Ron Glass (Shepherd Derrial Book, born Henry Evans)😔
Here here here!

Had I known about it earlier, I might have been one of the ones trying to keep the show alive.
Yeah seriously, its only because it was on Fox. On a lot of other networks thats still higher than a lot of their best shows. Also imagine if it had been shown in the correct order on a better time slot how well it would have done.
Right? They won't let batwoman die with it's 400,000 view count....
The TV landscape has changed a bit in 20 years...

Sorry, incorrect. That was Tim Reid who played Venus on WKRP.
@@Dob35 ah you're right, thanks
Firefly was awesome!
Yes, it was!
Defenitely the best ever! ♥️
Yes
The most shiny science fiction series ever..
Alan Tudyk has a new series that started 1-27-2021 called "Resident Alien".
He also had his own show called "Con Man", that was hilarious.
It's fantastic!
He is hilarious in that!
Yeah, The Dollhouse was a pretty decent show that was missed in you're rundown of both Summer and Alan.
I guess we need to add "Resident Alien" for Allen and Nathan. Excellent show.
Both Summer and Alan appeared in The short lived series “Dollhouse “
Which turned out excellent in the later episodes.
I never watched it all the way through. I'll have to look for that.
also the actor that plays Badger!
@@whedonobsessed He's been in everything, from X Files to Dr Who
Not sure what category this would fit in, but Nathan Fillian was in Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog" and "Much Ado About Nothing"
Kept waiting for those to get mentioned, thank you.
You missed Adam Baldwin having a role in Independence Day as well.
Alan and Nathan also did two small parody movies called " Con Man" about two actors from a short-lived science fiction series.
You forgot to mention that Gina Torres starred as Jasmine in season 4 of Angel.
And Adam Baldwin was in the last season as an enforcer for Wolfram &Hart.
Jewel Staite is such a BABE!!
Can't stop the Signal.
Nathan Fillion as a daytime soap actor also.
Loved that show. Have rewatched it many times. Great characters.
Also missed Baldwin's roll in Independence Day .
Thanks for sharing!
Loved Firefly. Class series ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What iv learned from this is that half the cast were also in Halo ODST.
Alan Tudyk also appeared in a great episode of Frasier as a internet billionaire who bought the radio station, and then copied Frasier's apartment, etc. etc... Season 8 Episode 4, "The Great Crane Robbery" November 14, 2000

Amazing job to get all the video clips together. Very informative
Alan and Gina both appeared in Angel. Gina was the series baddie.
I don't remember seeing Alan on Angel.
@@ronfehr7899 I think he means Adam. He was in the last season as the Wolfram & Hart go between and introduced Angel to the Black Thorn.
You completely forgot to mention Nathan Fillion's role as Captain Hammer in Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
My wife & I were looking at houses in the Hollywood Hills years ago and found a really nice, modest house with great views. I researched it and found that it had been Ron Glass's house until he passed away. It had a totally great but modest actor vibe...but in the end was out of our league by quite a bit of $$$.
You forgot that Wash is set to be the lead in the sci fi show Dr. Alien
Awesome show, awesome cast!
I remember watching Barney Miller when I was growing up RIP Mr. Glass and thank you
A new cast would require casting genius, and to work it'd have to be brilliantly written.

I worry a reboot will try to be what was instead of what comes after. Maybe it could display descendents of the original cast or fans of the original crew continuing in their footsteps.
Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau were also on Josh Wedon's series "Dollhouse".
A reboot without the original cast? Just when you thought studio execs couldn't get any stupider....
You forgot Fillion's performance as Caption Hammer in Dr. Horrible's Musicale Blog !
Adam Baldwin was also in several episodes of The X-Files.
I actually teared up when you showed Cayde. He was my friend and those bastard Scorn killed him!
And, we should add ‘Resident Alien’ for Alan.
You missed on of my favorites for Alan Tudyk. Dollhouse
Serenity is still in the sky, somewhere.
I love this show,it canceled too early..not happy about it..
Do you have an aversion to mentioning Joss Whedon shows in this video? Torres and Baldwin were both recurring on Angel. Turec was on Dollhouse.
Nathan fillian was Caleb in Buffy. Don't know if that is mentioned yet im only 3min into the video
Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but don’t forget Nathan’s role as the doctor in the movie .
Sorry, “Waitress” went missing in my comment. He played the doctor in the movie “Waitress.”

please get Whedon and bring back the old cast.
Whedon is toxic in Hollywood these days. It will be a long time, if ever, before he heads up any projects.
can you do a video for babylon 5, lexx the dark zone and for cleopatra 2525
sadly, Delenn died yesterday (1/23/21) from complications of West Nile Virus.
Babylon 5 would be a sad one as most of the original cast is dead now.
Forgot about Alan Tudyk’s guest star on the Rookie!
Thank you for the reminder, looks like that has slipped through my research.

He also had a memorable appearance in one episode of Justified as a mob hitman/enforcer.
Can’t reboot without original cast.
Firefly was doomed due to fox screwed and played in out of order then used low rating as an excuse to cancel it
So it was completely fox's fault
When I found out Nathan Fillion is voicing Cayde-6 I bought the game immediately! Then they killed off the character and I was like F this, im not playing anymore, Firefly 2.0 hapening
Morena has a new series. "The Endgame" premiering on NBC where she is the lead character. I will be watching!

Shepherd Book is gone? 😢
Tragically Ron Glass died several years ago, the shepherd has gone to meet his maker.
Yeah only 71 he was a great actor in everything he was in.
No Christina Hendrix............
Resident Alien
What about Hunter Ansley Wryn most beautiful thing on that movie
Adam Baldwin did also played a role in three episodes of Castle.
It's dead, Nathan. Stop kicking it. You can't revive it. It's DEAD, Nathan. We know you have nothing else on the horizon, little man.
