The one thing I dislike about Serenity, no, there are two: I really missed the song. But that must ve had legal reasons, I guess... but how could they kill Wash!?! Why?!?
@@Weirdkauz Whedon had to kill more than one main character from the show since he never got around to doing it on the second season of the series. He's like that.
This came out when I was getting in the truck in '05 . I used this line as my power statement.

Fair play, the series ended and they looked for other work, but did come back for the movie.
Just couldn't commit to more than that, so Whedon used it to up the stakes narratively, shaking people up with a few main character deaths that you're not sure if they'll actually make it or it all goes "Rogue One" on us.
But, yeah, I read that it was to do with the actors and contracts and long-term commitments. If there'd have been a Serenity 2, Wash wouldn't have been back - the actor had other work - so might as well put a proper ending on it, and use that fact narratively.
One of my personal favs: "may have been the losing side, still not sure it was the wrong one"

how does a show that lasted one season have so many great lines?
The lines are characteristic of Whedon et al. It only lasted one season because it was betrayed by an evil alliance called Fox which was run by untalented, unintelligent, and incompetent managers (who probably wore blue gloves).

Easily the best scifi show ever, better even than Star Trek. Obviously doomed from the start by its' exceptional production quality, outstanding writing, and the chemistry between the cast members.

FOX has always been controversial, however Firefly being taken of the air is the single biggest reason I'll be annoyed with them forever!
I dream of a new series with all the original cast, set in the time between the end of the series and the movie Serenity. So many unanswered questions, so many new possibilities!

My SGT. said " If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl. If you can't crawl, then get some one to carry you." He said that in 1986. That was and is my favorite quote. It means never give up, till they throw dirt on your grave. Bring back Firefly!! It was just good entertainment, like Gun Smoke.

Whedon said he never wanted to kill him off, he was one of the characters he said he never would kill off, but ue did it because the show got cancelled.
He did it because doing a movie has "certain requirements", his words.

Totally agree; all those moments we could have had, and how we would have come to know those characters. We can only remember what we have, and imagine the rest.
Well, we have a more or less-large series of Firefly-Comics wich dive deeper into the Universe and tell us of the fate of the crew.
I might have missed it, but I love the part where jane is testing the radio standing next to Mal and he asks if he can here him. Jane " testing... can you hear me " Mal " im standing right here " Jane ' your coming in good and loud " Mal " cuz im staning right here"

I don't often read through the comments on a video, because flame wars start so easily and that can be *so* depressing, but how wonderful it is to read these and see commenters who are all on the same page. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I have been as royally entertained reading these comments as I was when watching this great series.
