Listening to the director's commentary on all the work they had to put into The Train Job to make it work as a pilot even though they'd already written and filmed a 2-hour pilot was... a lot. At least they Fox told them this was going to happen before it aired, though, unlike the rest of the switch-a-roos.
Also, a ridiculous number of people I know first saw "Our Mrs. Reynolds", including me. I stopped watching midway because it seemed so formulaic. In context it's brilliant, but not as an entry point. That seems to be a common theme as far as I can tell.
When he said "Someone gets 'almost' dead" my throat got tight, my eyes started to tear up and it felt like I got punched in the gut all at the same time. Serenity came out 15 years ago and it still makes me sad.

Fox never aired the 2 hour pilot. Joss and Co had to write the first ep over a weekend and cram all of the world building into that ep. We NEED to figure out how to tap into the multiverse...because somewhere out there, this show ran for 6, 8, 10 seasons...and I wanna see every second of it.
There's an ongoing comicbook title. At this point it'd have to be animation to account for how the actors have aged over eighteen years at this point (fifteen if you include Serenity). Audio Drama could work as well, as most of the main cast have voice acting experience (largely through DC animated projects) and there's a very good audio drama range of rebels fighting against a tyrannical regime in a sci-fi setting in Big Finish's Blake's 7 range. Yeah my brother and i saw the trailer for serenity and begged our mom to take us to see it. Wound up renting it, loving it, then finding out it was a sequel to a series. Heart breaking but one of the many to things that my brother and i bond over, our discovery and loss of Firefly/serenity

First. An Honest Trailer for the movie of the show (Serenity).
Second. An Honest Trailer for Castle which they referenced in this one.
So unfair that they cancelled this. I'm all the way in Kenya and I loved this show. Hoping one day they bring it back.
Perhaps we should organize a campaign to get Netflix to take on the show and start producing Season 2?

Firefly was a precious gem of a show. I'm glad they at least gave us a movie for some closure.

Weirdly enough: I was so heart-broken over some of deaths, but still, the whole crew/family going up against such odds and not losing a single one of them would have felt like disneyfying the show..
Didnt really give it to us. Many of us helped to fund it. It was a kickstarter before there was kickstarter. They money raised helped him convince a studio to fund the rest via the knowledge enough people would go see the film to get a return on investment.

Because Fox hates good shows.
