yes and pearl, also lost!! very emotional songs and great vocals by her! she used to release nothing but hits but I haven't really liked anything of hers since prism
I am only seven years younger than Katy Perry, but no-longer 'young' and my issue with this album is it feels deeply insecure. As though she is trying to force competition with younger women. Younger women are not my competition. I am not trying to prove that I am more wild, hot or in demand than a twenty-year-old. I personally don't see youth as a currency or myself as less valuable than a young woman, but I am not trying to compete with someone who is young and figuring themselves out. If you are in your thirties or forties trying to compete with other women for men's attention it just feels a little bit sad. I hope she finds a way to value herself beyond that.
Cosign. She tried to conjure nostalgia but she has no connection to it. And I actually have nostalgic feelings for Katy Perry's hits because they connect me to my younger self, but I don't want to go back there. Katy is sadly still there and her producers aren't helping.
Not a fan of her at all and had to google her age. She is about my age, which makes so much sense. Many people in my age group are so insecure about becoming boring and old. They're also the loudest ones, which is why there this whole "Millenials VS Gen Z" thing. It's embarassing.
@@maeby3258Thank you! older women were really patronising and mean to me when I was young and it was unhelpful. I really struggle to see the way young women are fetishised and expected to have it all figured out. Your twenties are for making mistakes and having fun if you can. I hope you age defiantly and know that your youth is precious but so is the wisdom and beauty of experience
I can forgive those kind of lyrics when they are a young indie artist. But someone who has been in the industry as long as Katy should do better... Especially seeing the fact she worked with people who have also been in the industry for a long time...
i’m not a huge fan of the idea that music is bad because it sounds “outdated” because if someone wants to make that music then they should, BUT this album just sounds bad… flat is so correct about these songs. i hate when songs stay on one line instead of actually DOING THINGS! even a beautifully written song can feel so boring when it’s so flat.
outdated is the correct word in my opinion especially since she’s trying to capture her former that former pop glory essence minus structure and lyrical content. it just sounds like something that won’t be played outside of the mall 😂
I agree. I remember the first time heart "Finesse" on the radio I didn't recognize it was Bruno Mars and I was like "What is early 90s I don't know? I know them all." That is how you do it.
@@larissabrglum3856exactly. genuinely if this album sounded like her old songs it would be way better. camp almost generic but fun and meaninful pop is her strong suit. this whole album just feels like a really bland 2017 rotalty free compilation
i hate it because "crawling on me like a centipede" would honestly hit in an unsettling indie love song, but trying to be genuinely sexy??????? katy please-
Woman's World seems like the song that would be playing in the first five minutes of the Barbie movie before they deconstruct the contradictions inherent in the concept of girl power.
"Crawl on me like a centipede" sounds like a euphemism for SA. Centipede crawling on you is universally a creepy, gross and repulsive thing, and for it to be presented in a context of sex, it's the only thing that comes to mind.
There is something karmic-ly satisfying about her going back to Dr. Luke, likely to recapture previous success, and the album just crashing completely.
the fact that one of the critics said the lyrics felt "ai-generated" says everything i need to know about this album. it's true that katy perry's side tracks are not a lot to write home about, but to barely have any good songs in the album when the singles are already not very good is criminal.
@@hawairecords when you look that old and still dedicate your whole ass defending this mid ass album and the rape apologist that creates it, you just know you don't have a life.
It feels like it’s empty “on purpose”? Like they’re not meant to stand by themselves, they’re meant to be cut for tiktok, sped-up and distorted. Or they’re supposed to be remixed with another song during DJ set. Like they will get people dancing as a transition between better songs
as a feminist, i HATE "woman's world" because it uses all that "women empowerment" and "girl power" vibe for marketing, when in reality, that song is the opposite of a feminist or empowering song. i feel like a man wrote those lyrics and told Katy to make sure to wear as little clothes as possible dancing to that song.
And her pretending to be a feminist while disrespecting another woman by using her r*pist to produce your album for financial gain is vile. I’m so glad it flopped.
not to mention the imagery is horrifically TERFy. the use of uteruses is a TERF dogwhistle nowadays whether katy realizes that or not. not every woman has a uterus, whether it be because they are trans women or a cis woman who had her uterus removed. the use of uteruses in feminism has always given me the ick.
Right? And she's trying to play the satire card while making her video look like the same "Tee-hee" thirst traps she had been making in her heyday. It does give off very #girlboss vibes which confused me because even as a marketing ploy I thought except for maybe MLMs people stopped using that unironically like 7 years ago
Olivia Rodrigo’s “All American B*tch” is the perfect example of using satire to criticize the unrealistic standards women are held to. This …album… makes me appreciate it so much more.
And Olivia didn't have to work with known serial r wordist Dr. Luke to deliver superior music. Nothing says women's rights quite like elevating the status and bank account balance of that psycho.
On the podcast "Call Me Daddy" Katy said if Orlando does the dishes or takes out the trash, I give him a B.J. nothing says Woman's World and Girl Boss like that.😂😂😂
At least Taylor Swift had the maturity to change a woman-shaming lyric in Better Than Revenge when it came time to re-record that song-a song from 2010, just the start of the 2010s shallow “feminism” that KP is still emulating in Woman’s World and other tracks in 143.
There's speculation that Katy Perry is knocking on the door of conservative traditionalism. She had a weird interview recently where she paraded her motherhood as basically the biggest achievement and defining aspect of her life.
Katy’s music sounding so dated is so insane to me bcuz Kesha’s JOYRIDE recaptures that late 2000s/early 2010s vibe while still clearly being new. This happens a ton in other genres too, artists making homages to a different time within their genre while adding their own spin/updated take and it works a lot of the time! If literally any effort had been put into 143 it would not only be actually good music, it would instantly capture the attention of people who were young and clubbing in the 2000s AND the gen z people like me who listened to all that music but were too young to experience them in their clubbing environment. I’m astounded at the failure here.
That's such a good point! I've hears a bagpipes cover of Blue and a drum cover of Snadman and they all sounded better by miles; with today's technology how does she miss the vibe so badly? 😅
Yall giving Kesha a “easy” time cause of what she’s allegedly gone through and that’s the truth. Her song joyride is in reality a horrible song that won’t be mentioned in the next 50 years.
@@ricardoheinsar3105Okay, like I didn't see a whole trend dedicated to uplifting JOYRIDE and not the "It's a Woman's World" song that was everywhere for a good while
Joyride was uplifted for a week or two whilst Katy Perry got slammed for her song and told “she should retire” Kesha releases some boring song that won’t even air on a radio let alone a club, but only tiktok and everyone is hyping it up and calling it a “comeback” whilst in reality her whole career now is about pity and how people feel bad for her.. truly embarrassing and in reality Kesha is still wealthy and not impacted at all and lives in an expensive mansion in Hollywood 😅
@@ricardoheinsar3105 have you considered that people simply like music that you don’t like? also, wow, insane of you to say that people only like her because they “pity” her for being sexually harassed???? again, have you considered that people just have empathy for her and ALSO like her music??? I’m not saying Kesha’s song is a masterpiece, but it’s fun and boppy and captures the energy Perry was reaching for without being forgettable and empty.
I wasn’t expecting an album review but I actually loved it so much. I like listening to your opinion on music, you are so right that her album sounds empty. I make music and something I find important with a lot of the music I listen to and with the music that I make is that it comes from the soul and means something to the person singing it. All of the music I make comes from my personal experience and expresses my emotions and is therapeutic for me. With her I feel like she just made these songs with nothing personal or actually meaningful to her attached to them, she just pumped out H&M type music that has no soul to it. Most people want music they can connect to in some way, and her new album fr feels like AI made it
Katy is the perfect embodiment of quit while you’re ahead. Lowkey her new stuff is ruining her throwbacks for me bc all I can think about now when I hear her old stuff is the woman’s world MV 😭😭😭
Yes. I think Rihanna somehow understood this. People beg her to drop another album bit it's highly likely she'd flop. I mean, people love her but the music landscape has changed too much.
@sabrinarodrigues629 I get some of this comment but if you actually believe Rihanna would flop dropping a new album, then you have no idea how powerful Rihanna is, the last thing that album would do is flop.
Her vocals sound very breathy, which is a sound other artists in other genres rock, but for the dance party space, it makes it sound like we are missing the main vocals layer
its intermission music. like the type of stuff youd hear when youre waiting for something better, or at the start of the night when nobody is feelin it yet and just wants background noise
I’m so confused why people keep working with Dr Luke. Even putting the morals of it aside (which obviously you can’t do because that’s insane) it’s just a terrible PR move and it never works out for whoever does it. They always get absolutely slammed for it.
I disagree, certain artists get away with it for whatever reason. He produced nicki Minaj’s super freaky girl which was #1 and Doja cat/Sza’s kiss me more which was a huge hit as well. Also produced Doja cats says so and Saweetie tap in. These artists aren’t that criticized over it tbh. Also I’m in no support of working with dr Luke’s
@@Harperangel59 hmm you’re right but it slipped my mind that he worked on those songs for some reason. Maybe the criticism wasn’t as loud for those artists for some reason idk why. Probably partially because the quality of those songs are a lot better so it outshines whatever criticism came
@@Harperangel59The reason why they didn't get the same backlash is because the songs were actually good. And also you're legally not allowed to criticize Nicki Minaj, lest you want to be doxxed and crucified by her barbs 😭
Sounds like Katie Perry’s life is too easy. She doesn’t have anything to write about. No angst. No artist pain. No even a happy, sunshine song. Just, neutral. Beige. In the words of Lisa Simpson, “it’s meh”
Gen Z has it so good. Imagine actually PAYING for this album and the disappointment and anger you'd feel that your hard earned $20 went to THIS! (and that was like $40 back then). This is what your elders had to suffer through.

Fun fact: Centipiedes are the perfect domestic hunters. In addition to the free pest control, house centipedes can serve as a gauge of pest pressure in your home. If you start to see an increase in house centipedes, it means there is something they want in your home, which may mean a pest problem. Although slinky and frightening at first, there’s really no reason to kill them. Apart from the above benefits, you needn’t worry about them carrying diseases or building nests or webs. Plus, they rarely cause infestations in homes. They make me shit my pants everytime I see one tho
I spotted one in my bathroom and caught it (but not before screaming my head off more than once) and tossed it outside, bowl and all. Roomates hate them and told me to throw away the bowl after I retrieved it. They're cool but they're not for me
To sacrifice your reputation by working with Dr.Luke just for him to give you some of the most stale, dated, and colorless production he’s ever given an act is genuinely infuriating. Like I know Capitol likely did not have any faith in this album considering the promotion and play listing has been so haphazard, but damn this is a new low. And considering they’re also responsible for Ice Spice’s Y2K release, that says something. 143’s most offensive aspect is being inoffensive. It is absolutely boring when it isn’t actively obnoxious with a bad feature or an annoying slice of production or even how processed the vocal production is. This is absolutely one of the worst pop records and maybe even the worst records that’s have come out in the 2020s.
If she had never released this album, we all could’ve gone on just bopping away to her 2010s hits and she could’ve continued making bank being a judge on whatever vocal reality show was hiring. Instead, she did this. It was definitely a choice, that’s for sure! 😬
I wish the album being 'outdated' was the worst part, its horrible to listen to, there's no artistic merit, creative risk, or even fun beats or catchy hooks. It's like 10 executives, 3 out of touch musicians and 1 AI software got together to make the most soulless, bland, minimal effort album. And to think so much money and resources from a major label went to producing this album when at the same time they are probably shelving or restricting budget to other smaller artists. Hope they realize how bad the failed. The worst part is there has been so much great new pop music this year, the road was paved for a Katy Perry comeback, if only they had tried even a little bit
@@rain.chasee if Katy perry had made something like funstyle by liz phair it would at least be so bad it's funny (or horrifying). Truly the worst offence this album commits is being boring, there's absolutely nothing that stands out about it as a standalone album
I don't understand a thing about this Katy era. There's no theme, no shared vibe, no cohesion. Like, what are her outfits?? What is this album cover? The album is called 143 but WHY?? Nothing about this album sounds like a love letter. It's a mish mash of different themes with the most basic lyrics possible. It sounds like literally no-one tried to make something special. What happened to the Katy Perry of One of the Boys and Teenage Dream? The Katy that knew exactly how to work on a cohesive theme/image/album?
I feel like she's trying to jump onto all the movements + pop culture obsessions of the past few years but doesn't actually get it. Like this is her take on what shes observed from Y2K fashion, futuristic fashion, bimbo core, icon culture etc. but not from a genuine place of having fun and not caring, and more to 'fit in' or do whats popular

But you mean she did put her daughter on a track, just not the one that made sense, and it was a bonus track nobody will hear 😭 kinda messed up...
Katy heard Jojo Siwa's attempt at "Karma's a Bitch", and took it as a personal challenge to make an entire album that feels like we're listing to it for a half hour.
That fact that 143 is PAGER code shows how stuck in the 90s early 2000s she is. 143 = I love you when on pagers you could only type in numbers that would show up on others displays. You were supposed to type in the phone number you wanted the receiver to call back to but people started sending messages in numerical code 411 - what's up/what's the info, 911 - emergency, 143 - I love you.
@@Froggele you used to dial 411 on the land line to reach "Information" it was a free service where you could talk to a real person to look up someone else's phone number, community phone numbers, the time etc. So that's where that comes from it doesn't have to do with the spelling of letters this time.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!! It feels so disconnected, like from someone who's never felt anything from music ever before, like AI wrote it. I've been thinking about this album and wondering what is it that makes it so bad. One question i still have though is, why didn't Katy Perry realize it was so bad?
It sounds like someone hit on Orlando once, and she felt the need to make an album letting that person know she's still "got it"... and him. However, I'm unsure of both at this point..
@@OpalLeigh-il8yjBut lots of women or men don’t think that way. And Katy is clearly someone (strong intuition and her strong need for male attention - yes we’ve noticed your boobs Katy from day 1) who would accuse a woman of blaming the woman her partner hit on. Because in her mind men just can’t help themselves and she’s dated so many womanizers to boot. She was raised evangelical where woman are always vilified all the way back to the story of Adam and Eve. It’s sad. She tries to give the strong woman image, but the truth is so obvious.

one of those pad commercials where the woman is riding horses and committing crimes and doing gymnastics on her period under the guise of 'wOmAn CaN dO aNyThInG"
My conspiracy theory: after the lead single's *catastrophic* reception, Perry's team panicked and deleted every other song on 143, and they had to re-record new material on short notice with the mission statement of "say as little and do as little as humanly possible so this can all just blow over" and *that's* the album we actually got There's no way it's true but it's fun to think about
her prime and her heyday WAS my high school adolescence so i wasnt amped for her to fail, id like to see all my pop divas from my teen years get to prosper and i AM nostalgic for that early '10s sound so long as theres substance to it. theres no highs and lows, nothing POPS OFF or goes anywhere. it's all one note. even if 1 song has a solid beat, that isnt alone to carry the song. and then theres breaking down the lyrics, which imho in pop its best not to lmao bc its generally flossy and disposable. as per sharon osbourne
this entire album just feels like your one immature aunt who never grew up and peaked in high school and is obsessed with having a bf. it’s like watching a rom com starring amy schumer.
D'Angelo: "I feel like it's missing something." What it's missing: soul, authenticity, passion, integrity. & Katy Perry can't sing anymore. She's buried in reverb & pitch corrected in Autotune. It's so funny that her guest features aren't produced that way. 21 Savage sounds like he's sitting next to us. Katy sounds like a ghost trying to be heard from beyond the grave, which, I guess is authentic after all.
my theory is that her label went on a meeting and the intern was like "they're saying on the streats that y2k vibes is going to be trending this year again... hmmm... katy perry was doing great back then huh? let's bring her back to make the same exact music. it's definitely going to work" (and they called her cause rihanna said no first)
It definitely does yet it’s the strongest song on the whole album which features a popular 90’s dance sample throughout which has been sampled to death over the years! So it’s not even original!

It sounds like hearing loss. I'm serious, I started losing my hearing about 6 years ago, and music started sounding really weird for a bit. I started only liking music that was very complicated because I was missing out on some of the finer details. This album sounds like when I started losing my hearing. It truly sounds empty, like we're missing massive parts of the sound.
9:25 I feel like Chappell Roan’s newest album, Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess is a good example of what kind of beat/variation you want to have in a album. Like compare Casual to Red Wine Supernova, or Femininomenon to Hot To Go, or Pink Pony Club to Coffee or After Midnight. All of them are both unique in their own way but also some do have somewhat similar beats.
also, even though all of the songs are so different, they’re all tied together by the same concept. it’s the high points and the low points of a midwestern princess!! everything is tied back into the idea of “im an otherwise ordinary girl in a lackluster area/position who dreams of bigger things”. plus, she has standout, identifiable stylist choices (mainly, her killer belt lol). katy perry’s album…it could’ve been written by anyone. there’s no identity to it.
& also, in the 2010s i kissed a girl was like peak gay pop but now there's so much better gay music that isn't catering to the male gaze like the amazing chappell roan 🎉🎉
I don't like her music at all and I think she's a terrible person for working with Dr Puke but I think society needs to stop telling women in entertainment to "retire" because they're older. Kylie Minogue got this treatment the moment she turned the wrong end of 20 and it's really gross

When “One of the Boys” came out in 2008, I remember loving “thinking of you” a beautifully written song by Perry alone. I wonder why her music became like this
Yes! That was one of the songs she wrote with ZERO other cowriters too so it’s not like she’s incapable of vulnerability and lyricism. Unfortunately this is what happens when you decide to drive your career on money rather than artistry
You should definitely do more videos reviewing music. I really liked your criticism, it didn’t humiliate the artist I would say, and you gave compelling arguments rather than just saying “its bad” 😂 I kinda wanna hear what you think of Short and Sweet or TTPD… 🤔

I agree, I don't think being "outdated" is necessarily terrible, but this is definitely outdated in a bad way

as a feminist, i HATE "woman's world" because it uses all that "women empowerment" and "girl power" vibe for marketing, when in reality, that song is the opposite of a feminist or empowering song. i feel like a man wrote those lyrics and told Katy to make sure to wear as little clothes as possible dancing to that song.
And her pretending to be a feminist while disrespecting another woman by using her r*pist to produce your album for financial gain is vile. I’m so glad it flopped.
I mean Dr. Luke DID help with the album so...
not to mention the imagery is horrifically TERFy. the use of uteruses is a TERF dogwhistle nowadays whether katy realizes that or not. not every woman has a uterus, whether it be because they are trans women or a cis woman who had her uterus removed. the use of uteruses in feminism has always given me the ick.
Right? And she's trying to play the satire card while making her video look like the same "Tee-hee" thirst traps she had been making in her heyday. It does give off very #girlboss vibes which confused me because even as a marketing ploy I thought except for maybe MLMs people stopped using that unironically like 7 years ago

that's what I was thinking?? it proves to you how shallow 2010s pop feminism is
mostly likely written by a man, no surprise there.

It sounds like someone hit on Orlando once, and she felt the need to make an album letting that person know she's still "got it"... and him. However, I'm unsure of both at this point..
I think it's probably an insecure dig at Selena Gomez because of that time period where Orlando was creeping on her 😂
He’s aight but honey Katy can have his ass lmaooo
@@FoggyMooseBogah fellow ladies, we gotta all agree: it’s not the other woman we’re mad at, it’s your partner ❤

5:22 I'm dying at this centipede line EWWWWW GIRL WHAT
this whole album is giving "I made this bot listen to 100 hours of Katy Perry and then had it write a song!!"
Every one of her 143 singles sound like the music you’d hear during a pads commercial or any advertisement related to women’s empowerment while they’re going through period💀😭
"So soft, so strong" would fit into a pad advert so well
one of those pad commercials where the woman is riding horses and committing crimes and doing gymnastics on her period under the guise of 'wOmAn CaN dO aNyThInG"
@@noodlepoodle3582 when she released the snippet, people did say that that song sounded like it was for a toliet paper commercial lmfao
HELP ME💀
Fr it reminds me of the packaging for pads. Mine always say "strong like a girl" on them and it's annoying.
My conspiracy theory: after the lead single's *catastrophic* reception, Perry's team panicked and deleted every other song on 143, and they had to re-record new material on short notice with the mission statement of "say as little and do as little as humanly possible so this can all just blow over" and *that's* the album we actually got
There's no way it's true but it's fun to think about
New headcanon accepted lmao
no no let's keep our tinfoil hats on for this one
I can believe this, reality is often stranger than fiction lol
It sure quite sounds like it
Well ... I dunno ... it's AN explanation and I think this needs some explanation.
her prime and her heyday WAS my high school adolescence so i wasnt amped for her to fail, id like to see all my pop divas from my teen years get to prosper and i AM nostalgic for that early '10s sound so long as theres substance to it. theres no highs and lows, nothing POPS OFF or goes anywhere. it's all one note. even if 1 song has a solid beat, that isnt alone to carry the song. and then theres breaking down the lyrics, which imho in pop its best not to lmao bc its generally flossy and disposable. as per sharon osbourne
23:20: "this sounds like a fictional album for a fictional popstar in a movie...or something." 4-Town could NEVER.
this entire album just feels like your one immature aunt who never grew up and peaked in high school and is obsessed with having a bf. it’s like watching a rom com starring amy schumer.
Katy Perry is an embodiment of "peak in high school"
omg “like watching a romcom starting amy schumer” is the craziest insult i have ever heard if someone said that to me i would be devastated
Even in her 20s she was singing immature shit like "you're so gay and you don't even like boys"
D'Angelo: "I feel like it's missing something."
What it's missing: soul, authenticity, passion, integrity.
Yeah yeah she made whole album with just breathing thereis no voice 😂😂 i think you all dont understand what is pop music because 143 is another level
She sang so well at the vmas. Sad that she made every wrong choice for this album
She sings really REALLY well (she’s an A-list start for a big reason), but yes, she has lost her soul and has completely sold out.
She can sing, she just RUINED everything in the album by putting pitch and reverb
from beyond the grave lmao I'm dying
my theory is that her label went on a meeting and the intern was like "they're saying on the streats that y2k vibes is going to be trending this year again... hmmm... katy perry was doing great back then huh? let's bring her back to make the same exact music. it's definitely going to work" (and they called her cause rihanna said no first)
Hahahahahahaha, oh my God. I think you’re exactly right 😂😂
This was not the exact music she used to make it's a big downgrade
The beats sound like they came from one of those pre-programmed settings on a keyboard when you press “pop.”
the track with doechhi sounds like it's supposed to be a rap song with a vocalist feature
instead of the other way around
It definitely does yet it’s the strongest song on the whole album which features a popular 90’s dance sample throughout which has been sampled to death over the years! So it’s not even original!
I 've been ironically singing "sexy confident, so intelligent" around the house for the past month, but I guarantee that will be replaced with "If you want the digits to my cellular"
WONDER is a big win for the ending credits of 3D animated family films about singing animals. Underpayed Illumination employees are drafting a pink elephant awkwardly shuffling to WONDER as we speak.
definitely has "let it grow" energy
This is the best comment I've ever read
It does give "Walking out of the theater after watching Zootopia 2" energy.
Too accurate 😭
Try Everything: "Am I a joke to you 🦒"
It sounds like hearing loss.
The rise and fall of a midwest princess*
also, even though all of the songs are so different, they’re all tied together by the same concept. it’s the high points and the low points of a midwestern princess!! everything is tied back into the idea of “im an otherwise ordinary girl in a lackluster area/position who dreams of bigger things”. plus, she has standout, identifiable stylist choices (mainly, her killer belt lol).
katy perry’s album…it could’ve been written by anyone. there’s no identity to it.
The serendipity I felt from seeing "I want my 33 minutes back" when the video was posted 33 minutes before. It's a very ticklish feeling.
The video is also exactly 33 minutes. Awesome
And now I'm out 66 minutes...
I'm 38 and I gotta say that it's very hard to listen to Katy Perry in an era of Chappell Roan. Respectfully, Katy - retire.
& also, in the 2010s i kissed a girl was like peak gay pop but now there's so much better gay music that isn't catering to the male gaze like the amazing chappell roan 🎉🎉
Agree. Loved the new katy cd-but the videos were way too riske for me-im like what lol! Same age too.
Katy’s music seems to be geared towards women who center male validation/ the male gaze.. I totally agree in an era of Chappell, it’s just not it
Sadly yall listen to Chappell who won’t last for the next 5 years.
She’s giving Ice Spice and will burn out soon
I don't like her music at all and I think she's a terrible person for working with Dr Puke but I think society needs to stop telling women in entertainment to "retire" because they're older.
Kylie Minogue got this treatment the moment she turned the wrong end of 20 and it's really gross
Ok, so an ad popped up right before the track started at 15:59, and i started vibin thinking "this one aint too bad" because my phone was in my pocket unt8l i pulled it out to see your phtsical reaxtion only to realize i need to hit Skip Ad 💀

iTunes had the nerve to auto upload this to my music library, a lá U2 album of September 2014 debacle!!!!! Immediately deleted it and went about my day!
That sent me, and I don't even hate U2.
How dare they
I just had to go check my iTunes to make sure they didn’t do that to me! I don’t wanna hear this crap
I switched to Android specifically because of that incident
Let’s not forget that when she was a judge on American idol and tricked a contestant into giving her his first kiss when she was mid 30’s and he was 19. He later said he did not want to and felt weird about it (not exact quotes).
AND she grabbed and squeezed a young justin bieber’s butt without consent when he thought they were just sharing a quick friendly hug. This kinda behavior isn’t new guys!!
Edit: also these were moments she knew were being filmed. Horrified to think what happens off the record
that American Idol stunt made me mad and I've literally only ever watched the finale where everyone expected Adam Lambert to win.
@@TheoRae8289 you get it! I didn’t care about the show either but I saw that clip and the Justin one awhile back and immediately knew she was creepy at best.
I’m sure she went through the same cause she was suppers young when she started too, and a really vulnerable, overly sheltered religious kid. Probably repeating the cycle. Extremely tragic but obviously not an excuse. There’s just a deeper issue here. (Sorry for the rant lol)
@@Havanah-ov4yt I feel like that stunt with Justin is part of the reason he acted protective of Eillish being so young in the industry. That poor guy probably saw hell when he was a teen.
@@TheoRae8289 no literally not to mention people like Diddy taking a special interest in him. I’m terrified to think what he’s endured especially off camera

Ha!
But Hollaback girl slapped and was memorable. Unlike this.
Im so glad you liked the doechii track!!! I also thought that was the highlight
The JID one is also good
Katy Perry’s new album is an extreme example of what a lot of pop music has been suffering from lately: Lack of bass. It just makes the song sound very empty/unfinished
Frr i agree, it sounds like its missing half of the music beats
this is why i love tate mcrae's latest album, the bass on most of those songs goes CRAZY
exactly. the songs feel like there's a void floating over the whole thing
it was weird enough when metallica nerfed the bass on AJFA, and that was a metal album. I'm sick of unfunky pop music we want the funk!!!!! Give us basslines!!!
Imaginal disk by Magdalena bay has the bass lines you’re needing
The H&M/Love Island music was on point, I laughed in non-verbal when that track came on!
Thanks again to D’angelo for the daily uploads. Truly making my days easier.
Amen! 🎉

agree!!!
Same! Absolutely same!
11:38 I was actually thinking it sounded an awful lot like Kylie Minogue, who dropped an iconic album in 2002. If that’s indeed what she was going for, she’s stuck in an era from over 20 years ago 😂🤣
She really ruined her reputation working with a known rapist all for a garbage album I mean she’s been on the decline for a minute but jeez this is bad

@@beriasims1869 these are the songs that play in the club between the songs you actually want to hear. Like these songs are inconceivable outside of an EDM club setting high on something.
I wonder if Katy Perry knows she can just enjoy being rich and famous? She doesn't have to make music if she doesn't want to, like what?
But how are you supposed to enjoy your life when no one is paying attention to you?😭😭😭
Right? Like just enjoy being able to raise a kid in this economy without having to work, travel the world and whatnot.
But don't you want her man?? You'd better not be in his DMs - they're HAPPY goddamnit and how were you gonna know that if she didn't put it in a SONG 😤 haha

I legitimately think the lyrics were at least partially AI generated.
maybe they were inspired by Katy's trip to the met gala this year
I feel like if she wanted painfully simple lyrics, she could have just reached out to Madonna.
each writer's credit is when they individually got lines from chatgpt
Even some of the vocals sound AI generated. Very unsettling album
Tampon commercial feminism
So many people worked on this album. So many people had to APPROVE this album . .

Gen X used “143” in the 1990’s when sending numbers to someone’s pager. 911 and 007 were basically their only other options for years until people could send letters.
Yep, and us elder millenials
And not for nothing, but Stray Kids released track “Case 143” fully 2 years ago and it slaps. As compared to whatever …(gestures above vaguely) THAT was. 🤷🏻♀️

Ok but honestly… “do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again” Should not have been treated as peak lyricism.
You…may be on to something…though it pains me to admit it
Honestly that is spot on, and has got me rethinking her entire discography but we're gonna let it go because i can't let go of singing BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK at the top of my lungs
agreed, but also i think it's way better than whatever she did in this album. yes it's corny as hell but at least i feel like she fully means it and believes it.
THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!! Why is everyone acting like Katy Perry has lost her damn mind when she's literally always been this way? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!! 😂
Wait, people actually liked it? I thought the hype was ironic or sarcastic 💀
Katy is in desperate need of a ghost writer. like it's okay to not write your own songs not everyone can come up with lyrics. and she needs to work with someone that make sense with the vibe, not the easy route with dr Luke. plus I love the idea of woman's world beginning as satirical then getting serious with realizing what she has force to be like, kinda like the barbie movie
P!nk featured her daughter in a track about the future but the daughter only comes in at the end and it's really cute. P!nk walked so Katy could.... crawl
Beyoncé did the same and it was cute too
so she could "crawl... on me like a centipede"
Victoria Monet did it with her daughter
Pink walked so Katy Perry could get dragged
“Run,” right?
