A lot of ppl miss this but the sets they were going through in “holiday” were callbacks to their other iconic videos (gee, hoot, etc). The song is so upbeat but bittersweet for me since this was their last comeback 💔.

fun fact: the lyrics for holiday were written by seohyun and the mv is riddled in references to their old mvs. like the mannequins = gee, the elevator = hoot (which you should listen to), diner = dancing queen, beach backdrop = party, bedroom= genie/igab
I don't know if you heard but Tiffany got cast as Roxie Hart in the musical “Chicago” officially recently and will be performing it, not really an important thing to know but she's always dreamed of being in that musical so its cool to see, plus it means she's in Korea right now for the time being (not to get hopes up) but I'm happy for her
I saw a bit of her Instagram this morning on YT---now I know what it meant! Thanks! ( haven't seen Chicago since the movie was released, so I didn't remember the character name). It's a great musical, and she has the 'chops' for it.
I hope the producers and media executives in Korea find a way to make it globally available ( with international subs)--with COVID still a huge problem globally Korea could intiatiate a third 'Hallyu' wave over the Internet to a vast '-stuck-at-home' audience, and cheer everyone up ( and make $$$!). .
Seohyun was credited as 1 of the lyricist for Holiday.. She also wrote Sweet Talk while Yuri wrote It's You which all of these songs are found in their Holiday Night album..
You can see the versatility of the group through the years with different concepts, from mr taxi concept to mannequin to nurse to party girls to lion hearts 1700s vibes to cheerleaders etc. Their versatility plus their TALENTS and visuals makes them to be the QUEEN of KPOP😭🥰😍✨
personally All Night and You Think are still my favorite ot8 titles, but Holiday Night (the album w Holiday and All Night) is my all-time favorite snsd korean album, i mean the japanese albums are still their best, but man the bsides on Holiday Night go hard... Sweet Talk may just be one of my fav songs (and it was written by the maknae herself), and One Last Time and Light Up The Sky (recommend checking out the lyric to warm ur ot9 heart) are some beautiful ballads ❤️

Just so you know SNSD OT8 always did double releases, a public friendly song - Party, Lion Heart, Holiday - and a more mature concept - Check, You think, All Night respectively. iirc the only one of those you've reacted to is You Think. Check doesn't have a video but there is this iconic performance at Inkigayo th-cam.com/video/ekEiaaounSE/w-d-xo.html (Every SONE knows which performance I'm talking about) I don't think you'll have problems if you want to react to it bc it's not posted on the official channel and of course there is All Night.

The album's name is Holiday Night. "Holiday" and "All Night" were the title tracks. ("Party" is from the Lion Heart album, and it's their first Korean comeback as eight.) When you watch "All Night," make sure to watch the clean version before the documentary version so that you can appreciate the song more. :)
"Holiday," along with "All Night," was their 10th anniversary release, and it's also the time when La La Land was big, so you can see where Holiday MV's inspiration came from.
Also, SNSD isn't very strong in the rap department because they debuted without a rapper in mind. K-Pop during 2007 wasn't really rap-heavy unlike today. :) Thanks for this reaction! Looking forward for more!

I love so much these two songs. They both are very special for me, I think because they released in an very uncertain moment of SNSD and these songs were like a light for SONES.
We all love Sunny in party era, it was her era. My bias is Hyo, but Sunny was wow.
Holiday, well was for their 10th anniversary of course it was a celebration. The set for the MV was pieces of different previous MVs. The part with Hyo and Yuri are behind Tiffany and she sings "party" they do "the party move".

Holiday night is the name of the album and I really recommend All night from that album (the second title track, watch the clear mv version), it's sooo good, also One last time is one of my fave snsd songs ever. Party is from the Lion Heart album, and the second title track for that one is also a total bop (You think).
Btw, See Sea is amazing! Glad you mentioned it, and also any Sistar summer bop. I truly recommend you Sistar's little sisters WJSN (Cosmic Girls), they have amazing vocals, one member is an ex IOI member, they have a cosmic/magical concept but also have some great summer songs like Boogie Up, Happy and Kiss Me.
You should really listen to all night next! Its my favorite of the OT8 songs. ❤ edit: also if you haven't already you need to listen to Chocolate love by GG. There is also an F(X) version as well. They are both different but amazing.

Yep, SNSD definitely went with the retro concept for this album. All Night is personally my favorite out of the two title tracks, but Holiday really isn’t that far behind. The album though... is on another level. Definitely their best Korean album in my opinion.
Party is definitely one of those songs where you kind of have to be in the mood to really like listening to it. Like you said, still a bop, but not my favorite release from them.

The song Holiday (and All Night) always makes me so sad....for their 10th Anniversary release they got one week if music shows and....that's it. No anniversary concert, a whole bunch of re-signing drama, and not nearly the celebration that they should have gotten .
Holiday night is my favorite album. I highly suggested All Night, Light Up The Sky, and especially One Last Time. I think it is a sad bop song(I'm not really sure) but I think you would like it.

I think lowkey, HOLIDAY was really my favorite.. It's the GG song that i alwyas add on my feel good playlist.. the energy is really high and its super fun to listen to.. ALSO, if you watch them perform this live, you will feel how happy they are and how much they enjoy performing it.. I suggest you watch those Holiday live performances..

P.S. I agree Sunny's Body! SM needed to give us something something amend for Jessica's departure and Sunny's melons and curves was the gift. Theuve been trying to cover it for years but finally let us have it. Party and Holiday are definitely a bops. It's sad to say bit Snsd suffers quite a bit with Jessica's departure which caused them to lose many fans and support. Yes they were still winning and remained on top. However, the hurt to their former GLORY was visible.
Speaking of rapper, they do have a solid rapper back then and It was Tiffany she was the group's main rapper before Hyo, she did but SM let her sing than rapping.
Party mv was shot in Thailand where I live. I have been there at the spot they were shooting. It was beautiful 😍
I love the Party MV. Nobody ever notices that Sunny's hair extensions fell out partway during the filming. Half of the video she has long hair, half with short hair. They must have had a good time in Thailand shooting that MV.
