CMIYC was supposed to be a gift for their Tokyo Dome concert(they were gonna show the mv during the concert) but I guess it got scrapped after Jessica's departure and they rerecorded everything so that's probably why the mv itself was incomplete. I like the mv for OT8 more since the mv was definitely better and the choreography looks more refined too.
Seohyun and Sooyoung got more parts with Japanese releases because they're the best at speaking Japanese, especially Sooyoung.
I definitely understand your sentiments especially since their peak was during OT9 and one of SNSD's brands was their sister bond. Plus Jessica has been there for the first 7 years which was basically most of their active career.
Let's not forget that jessica was actually the first trainee under sm out of all the members. She trained for 7 years along with soo young (and hyo i think).

it's a japanese mv so it's no surprise the reactions got blocked, with their strict copyright law. Plus it's not to be published in any streaming sites but got leaked hence the many blocked reactions that time.
Jessica was a part of the group when most of us have gotten into them. She shared their sweat and tears and stood on the top of the world with them. Of course we miss her. We miss the golden age, the simpler times, theirs and our own youths. But it’s been a long time since the group became 8. They wiped off the tears they shed in Tokyo Dome and moved on. They proved they are still “it” as a group and they grew tremendously as individuals. They are not exactly the same group without her but they aren’t less either. It’s just a new chapter and it’s beautiful too. Personally, I like “Lion Heart” way more than “Gee”. And I do consider “Holiday Night” one of group’s best albums overall. Many of my favorite concert lives of theirs are also OT8 without Jess’ presence being a criteria. I’d lie if I said an OT9 comeback wouldn’t make my decade but it’s an unfair expectation to put on the girls who’ve done and proven so much after surviving a catastrophe. That includes Jessica.
I agree with this perspective that the girls all have moved on. We can't expect from them, as fans, to reunite when they already took care of all the sharp edges left after the break. They broke up. They moved on. An OT8 comeback would be way better than forcing Jessica back into a group she doesn't belong to anymore. But GG's time with her was iconic and I don't think anyone regrets it. And as fans supporting our favourite artists, we shouldn't either.

OT8 worked their ass off to stay on top. They even won bonsang with just a short time of promotion with their Holiday night album. Their song Holiday even entered World chart (Billboard ) comparing to their other songs.
Man...that white crop top, black pants and boots is just such a fine look. And Sunnys hair, damn. This is definitely up there for fav SNSD dance.
Me too. I'm an OT9 but I moved on. They are OT8 now. Every member is equally important to me. If a lead dancer left, I think the impact is still the same. If a lead vocalist left, still the same impact... They all have purpose in the group...
And the OT8 Lion Heart album is really great. One of their best. Along with Holiday Night. But my Top 1 is still their japanese albums. Its all OT9 and all bops.

It's based on personal preferences. Holiday and All night is Iconic for me.
They debuted as 9 and known as 9 members so obviously if one member left ( not just Jessica) they will never be complete again. Each member has their own charisma and contribution to the group. When Jessica left I still used to love their music because they are still that powerful but you will notice that there's something missing and that's jessica's voice.
It happened to them sometimes where one or two of their members are absent during their performances so it through the absence of other members they still perform well but not as good when they are complete.
It's a rare situation when Snsd needs to perform and Taeyeon is absent and their performance sounds so plain and not as powerful when Tae is there.
The full version feels very interesting because when the video starts, Jessica isn't there, then she appears, then by the end she's gone too. It always reminds me of her appearance in SHINee's "Sherlock" as the ghost girl.
It's also emotional since there was a short clip of Jessica kind of "behind the scenes" and she was singing the "I'm going to find my heart" part to herself, and this was well before we knew the song existed. And, as Sunny was very close with Jessica, you can notice that Sunny smiles more in the Jessica ver. It's also emotional because Jessica actually had the most lines in this song, while comparing to their last OT9 title tracks "I Got a Boy" and "Mr. Mr.", it seemed like she was getting fewer and fewer lines than before, yet here she was supposed to have the most.
Jessica did a show with her sister before 930 events and she sang a bit of CMIYC during the show so we knew that she was part of this song so we thank our lucky stars to the person that leaked this video.
I always thought Jessica's higher pitched voice was key to the GG sound which is why it doesn't feel the same.
Yeah, to be honest I don't get the same feeling from OT8 songs. I enjoy All Night and Lionheart but not to the degree of their older tracks. I actually think the group's sound made more sense as OH!GG (OT5) in Lil' Touch than it did in any of the OT8 songs.

SNSD’s songs are made for NINE. Their choreographies are complicated, their songs are hard to sing. Jessica was the main vocalist. After she left, SM give so many lines to Taeyeon because she’s more capable then others (ofc all girls can sing but Taeyeon’s and Jessica’s level is different from others) and then she hurt her voice. In Weekly Idol’s SNSD episode they did the random play dance challenge. Their formations are really difficult usually and guess what happened without Jessica. They changed those choreos to ot8 but that was more confusing
I’m happy that they’re doing what they want. Hyoyeon is a professional DJ, Jessica have a successful company, she wrote a book, Taeyeon is focused on her solo music career, YulSooYoongSeo are focused on their acting career, Tiffany is trying new things (She is going to play in the CHICAGO musical as Roxie Hart), Sunny is relaxing, going to variety shows...

Correction- any Snsd songs made after 2014/Jessica’s departure are for ot8 + after she left, other members actually got a lot more lines than they used to, especially Tiffany and she is more than capable.
Seohyun is technically around Jessica level, but yes her vocal color can't be replaced.

Yessss!! 100%. Sir austin you are gonna LOVE this. The girls and peace is OT9 and they harmonize insanely in the beginning. Taensic at its best. And then the ballad version at tokyo dome is a every sone’s must watch.
SNSD were at their peak around 2009-2012, which ended right about when 3rd gen Kpop started. They were definitely popular/relevant and remained at the top of a lot of charts as a girl group in their later years, but GG is mostly known for their earlier stuff. That being said, although their OT9 albums have a special place in my heart, I do absolutely love Lion Heart (the album) their 10th anniversary release. The bsides are amazing in my opinion.

I remember the time when they perform without Taeyeon ( It's a rare situation) their performances became plain and not as powerful when Taeyeon was with them because obviously Taeyeon's voice makes their songs and live performances stronger. Each member has their own role in the group so when one member is absent they will never be perfect like when they were complete.
Mr mr doesnt have photocards .. the album only include a sticker, that have 3 versions. But they have postcard sets but it was sold separately 😅.

The Jessica version is so much better. Even if she only had the one part in the adlib section, her inclusion would still be worth it. The color change from Jessica --> Tiffany --> Taeyeon is PERFECT and a trip while Taeyeon --> Tiffany --> (back to) Taeyeon in the Sica-less version just doesn't make as much "sense" and the power of the moment is so much less.

CMIYC was supposed to have a fierce/sorta sexy concept to it, so Sunny not smiling isn’t really odd in the Korean version. And while the OT9 version sounds stronger with Jessica’s voice in it, I really do appreciate SM giving this song a fairer line distribution with OT8. We almost never get to see the dance line get more than 1 measure of lyrics, so that was a huge treat to have.

OT9 and OT8 are both Iconic. It's just that there's something weird when they were performing as 8 because we've known them as 9 members but they aren't less as what some people saying. i feel a bit weird about saying 'everything's better with jessica', but i do see your point. i mean, i do totally agree that ot9 is ideal because that's how their legacy started and obviously jessica is awesome. but i don't think that ot8 is worse, per se. as you are a sone, i know you didn't mean this to minimize ot8's success or make them look bad, it's genuinely your preference in their music. however, if a non-fan would say that, it would've definitely been more upsetting. because while the height of their career was during ot9, ot8 was still iconic and they've made it past 10 years swimmingly. i've seen non-fans somewhere claim that snsd flopped when jessica left and it just makes me so sad because they're so incorrect :(( just wanted to point that out, i love your input and love to hear your opinions! it's fun as an older fan to watch new sones flourish :)

So obviously, when they were performing without the other members even though they still that powerful vocally there's still a weird feeling.Their Ot9 songs are made for 9 of them so basically without one of them it feel strange. After Jessica left, my concern was who's gonna be the one who support Taeyeon through out their songs since Taeyeon and Jessica always lead their choruses. @@mikanlin not actually, the song had already been released but not the mv that would be another surprise for the best live a tokyo dome, and in fact the mv was never officially released, it was still leaked, the only official version was the story version.

CMIYC was really a Japanese single (meant to promote their Tokyo Dome concert) that got a Korean release. There's an OT8 Japanese version, too. Vocally, the OT9 version sounds better because Jessica's voice was in it, but you can see how the video was unpolished and the choreography wasn't as sharp as the one that they released officially.
I love the fact that each girl generation member is like different version/era of Boa like if you go back to Boa music you kind of see each of the girl generation members style of music just a thought I had

I like the CMIYC ot9 version more and yes I'm being biased because Jessica is my ultimate bias. But I'm not saying the ot8 version, is not good. It's great but you can't help it when something was made for ot9 and then reshoot for ot8 unlike Holiday onwards that is really meant for ot8.

@Edna Mode Well that really just depends on how you view their whole situation with her departure from the group. They did have to reshoot he MV when she was no longer a part of the group, it wouldn’t make sense to have her in the MV in Tokyo Dome when SM basically blacklisted her from the entertainment industry after her departure a few months prior.

Jessica was my bias in SNSD (my first ult bias since 2008) and the morning I woke up to the news that she left the group I felt like the whole world was crashing in on me, I was so devastated. What came after broke me even more, and to this day I regret her decision to write that damning statement about her departure. She burned the OT9 bridge and it saddens me greatly. But I guess my sadness was nothing compared to hers so I understand why she did what she did. Anyway, I guess post Jessica-gate the only song I ever liked was Holiday.

This is my 2nd time watching this and like the 1st time, I was quite bothered with the statement that "its ALWAYS gonna be better with Jessica".. Like no hate though and I understand it is your opinion and your preference but I guess it was wrongly worded.. When you say "it's Better" ("Better" being a comparative adjective), you are actually making the other option inferior which I don't think it is in this case. Her parts were perfectly covered by the other members.. I think it is the people's subconscious to search for her voice on those songs which she took part on.. So I really find it odd when people start comparing like "she doesn't sound like Sica" coz of course she's obviously not Jessica.. And that's when some J stans start to hate on a member covering her parts, particularly Tiff..

I will say though, the dancing in the OT8 version is much cleaner and sharper which makes sense because they had more time to practice it. Watching the dancing in the OT9 version I noticed some mistakes and some of the moves were a little sloppy. I'm more used to hearing the OT8 version with live stages and stuff but I also really like the OT9 version too.
The Ot9 was a beta version it wasnt a finished product but a leaked unofficial version

SNSD did not release a lot of music after Sica's departure from the group. I agree, it isn't the same without her. But I love the SNSD nevertheless. Their last full album is absolutely amazing! I hate the fact that Fany, Soo and Seo left SM before we got to see them perform those songs... Still hate the fact that SM didn't give SNSD the big 10th anniversary comeback they deserved or let them do one last concert as OT8 before the 3 members left SM... because of that, I haven't had closure lol.

You're right.. the international reprints of GG older albums does not have a photocard.. you can only get one if its from SK sadly..
WE have a those albums here but still sealed.. bought from korean website, i hope they have Photocards..
