  • LEAPERKIM LYNX vs INMOTION V14
    Hi thanks for visiting my channel.
    Today I’m starting to gather some thoughts around these two wheels.
    It feels a little like comparing apples and oranges, both are great fruit but taste a little different.
    I only had limited time this week (our family car had a major engine failure and it all got hectic)
    I didn’t get all the footage or thoughts done that I wanted for this video, it was a little messy.
    I’ll clean up my thoughts and make another video once I get a little more experience on both wheels.
    let’s consider this a very first impressions video on this topic. They are both giving me different things and I am loving each for different reasons.
    let me know your thoughts in the comments.
    I hope you enjoy this roll.
    I had fun as always and appreciate the support.
    have a safe fun week.
    See you next time.

    Great review in that both wheels are great but different, but still great. I recommend on any wheel to dial is the sag, 25% of travel, then place with compression and rebound. Dial the compression back if you have the spring room on Sag to 25% positive to start and rebound at 50%. Then play from there. The sag should stay constant. Anyway great commentary, bud!!

    Everybody keeps saying the Lynx has no ip rating. Not true. Its IP65 rated. I have the papers.
    In fact, according to Freemotion, ALL Leaperkim wheels are ip65 rated.
    That's dust proof, and water hose/splash proof.

    • @eucaus

    Absolutely great video, very helpful in all of the relevant and most important ways!
    extremely informative!
    Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with these two wheels.
    I have been riding electric unicycles for three weeks now and i have accumulated over 3,000 miles in this time period. i have been riding the inmotion v10f which has been absolutely great for learning to ride. i’m ready to move with a different wheel, something with suspension, and higher speed capability. i noticed when riding in group euc rides, i cannot keep up with the group while riding the v10f.
    i have been considering the Lynx, as well as the Begode ET Max, and it has been mentioned that there may be a variation (not yet released) or model similar to the ET Max that may have a significantly larger battery, which is interesting to me because i like long distance riding.
    my research and study on this subject of electric unicycles seems to imply that the greater the weight of the euc, and the larger the wheel (rim) can provide greater stability, especially at higher speeds.
    i look forward to watching more of your videos, and learning a lot about the joys of euc travel.

    The best thing g about veteran wheels is once you dial them in you don’t need the app, I haven’t changed a setting in months on mine, so even if their app is simple, you don’t t need it anyway.

    • @eucaus
      @eucaus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      agree! I am very used to checking my inmotion suspension often to keep it pumped up. I am super glad that this generation seems much easier with V14. Lynx so far seems solid for me in every way. Great wheel!

    Notice how close that kickstand gets to the stairs on the Lynx. Mine has hit when going slow of steep drops. I took it off and love it. Also that kickstand will bruise your legs very easily if you go down on a low speed crash. EUC Clubhouse for oversized jump pads. Erides kit to lower the pedals. Next thing I really want is a versatile tire that is tubeless.

    I toiled over which wheel to get, but wound up choosing the Lynx. I originally had an order in for the V14, but changed it to the Lynx after a few problems arose with pre release V14's. I also have a Patton, and I like the larger tire on the Lynx, so i think it was the right decision for me. I received my Lynx in the mail after Christmas and have already gone 2000KM on it and need to do a tire change.

    Nice video. You mentioned how high each wheel reaches on your calves. Would you say you have more control when the wheel reaches nearer to your knee being more stable and having more leverage when turning?

    • @eucaus
      @eucaus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes for me I find I have learned to control the wheel in a few ways but having upper leg purchase helps me just have another point to hold/lean. It became really important on the v13 and I think I have a fondness for it now. You how know you can carve with your knees tight on the wheel or with just your feet on pedals and loose in the legs? You still control the wheel but it feels like you are controlling it differently. I feel more connected with upper leg grab. (I hope all that makes sense)

    I just ordered my V14 today. I live in Texas so sudden downpours are a legit consideration during my commutes. That, and the ability to reliably tackle offroading as well as street made the determination for me. The only question I'm left with is (for anyone with plenty of experience on the V14) how long is the range actually? What's the usual distance/time on a charge with various riding conditions?

    Can you please comment on the width of the bodies. I think the Lynx is around 211mm but I don't know what the v14 is except that it looks pretty 'thicc' from a birds-eye view.
    I'm coming from an Mten4 so I'm leaning toward a v14. I don't really want to be riding on the roads, if I can help it at least.

    Oh man -.- No matter which one I pick I miss out on goodies.
    V14: Much better lights front and rear, better app and settings. Better screen (black background white text instead of white bg black text on lynx).
    Lynx: Bigger wheel diameter with access to the 14'' tires catalogue of the motorcycle industry. Much better seat position.
    Going to be another Inmotion win for me. Also why does Veteran have 14'' rim 20'' tire so 6'' difference, when Inmotion has 12'' rim 16'' tire so 4'' difference. Are their tires really wider?

    • @eucaus
      @eucaus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yep you got most of the points there, range will prob win on Lynx, V14 will win in the serious rain. Tyres confuse the hell out of me :)

  • @scottsum1319
    @scottsum1319 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    IMO if one can keep speeds to ~60ish kmh enjoys carving & being more playful, the v14 (& other competing 16" wheels for that matter) will win the day. No doubt the Lynx (& other competing sized wheels) will be more stable at speeds & handling rougher terrain. That said, tire choices will be much more limited with the 16" (or 12" rim size) so that might be a mitigating factor as well. Obviously its better x10 to have both or more but if its one&only, I'd go for a 18" wheel, Lynx in this case but this would hold for its competitors ala Master, Commander GT & such. IMO ofcos

    • @eucaus

      I am still so impressed with how easily you can change the feel by switching to smaller/larger wheels. I agree the carving and playful nature of smaller wheels, they can make the vibe a bit more energetic. Lynx though totally holds its own! So light and doesn’t feel much bigger than v14

    The V14 has the same Max Speed as the V12… make it make sense? Okay, the battery & motor is more powerful but in the end the top speed is what matters.
    I would rather pay $1600 for 43.5 mph max than $3k and get basically the same Top Speed.
    Until I see a wheel that has a verified 60+ mph max speed?
