6282 miles on my Patton from ewheels. eride pedals from your store. still going strong. A great euc, leperkim makes the best. Built like the tank it was named after.
I have an OG Batch 1 Patton with over 4000 miles that I love dearly and have had zero issues with other than one flat tire. I upgraded the springs to progressive 70lb to fix my main gripe which was the bottoming out issue and now that the Patton-S has progressive suspension I will likely swap the springs again to get the 66lb progressive suspension I have always wanted when they become available. Its great they refined the wheel however I would have liked to have seen a bit more power and range even if it meant keeping the weight they trimmed off and honestly 90mm of suspension travel. For now I'll stick with my OG Patton. Nothing has come out or is coming out that justifies an upgrade unless they make the "Lynx-S" so to speak.
@@dustinhankins2153 Not worth the money to upgrade unless I found a good deal on a used one. Happy with what I have for probably another year or so in which time there will be new wheels to consider.
the ride feel for the lynx is really different from the Patton, less agile but a good bit more stability at speed. But no, if you have the original this isn't enough of a change to worth an upgrade
I've been hearing mixed reviews about the progressive spring on the Patton S. I see in the assembly portion of the vid that you have 70lb springs. How did you find the plushness on and off road, did you experience any uncomfortable stiffness at the bottom of the shock stroke, and could you share your geared-up riding weight?
Great video review!, i enjoy your experience based reviews coupled with your ride videos from NY, as always, one thing though: i think you missed putting your performance score for the original Patton review, you say here it was 5/5 but i didn´t catch that on that video.
Love your videos. I would love to buy some swag from your shop but you don’t ship to Australia. Can I order directly or will you change to international shipping?
Hi! You mentioned briefly that this wheel may be UL certified; just wondering if there was any word. Would be great since we’re likely to get e-vehicle restrictions here in NYC in the near future…
With the weigh reduction I've been seriously thinking of moving from the T4 to the Patton S. But I'm a huge fan of PowerKnobz - can I install those on the Patton? Does removing that front brace cause issues?
What's the brand of those black and white speckle jackets you're wearing? I see an A and a C. Then I randomly see a triangle with a and cc, and made in USA. I don't think I see those linked in the description.
Wow, I am researching for a new wheel.. I see lynx, this, t4 pro etc.. this is lighter so I like it..would love to get a lynx but it’s expensive and heavy lol. I mean this is already heavy for me. But I didn’t realize that this is new, not even out yet (mid Jan google said)
I think the Patton S is just about the perfect beginner wheel! its well built, compact, very agile and powerful and can go waay faster than any average rider needs.
I want to know if the Patton S suffers from the same problem as the Sherman L: weight distribution and gyroscopic forces. The size and shape of the L, the pedal height, and motor weight, all lead to it being too easy to lean over at speed. At 20 mph, I have to steer it like I'm only doing 3 mph. There's no body leaning unless going at higher speeds. There are no gyroscopic forces keeping it upright that you have to fight against. If you even think about leaning, it falls over. And since the Lynx has wobble issues, I'm guessing it suffers from the same thing, and I wonder of the new tech in the Patton continues that. It boggles my mind that I haven't heard anyone address that. It's a safety issue since weight distribution and gyroscopic force creates stability.
I have the Sherman L and I have no idea what you’re talking about lol. If you have the kenda knobby tire it will quickly drop on its edge left and right. My Sherman S had the same tire and to mitigate this I’d drop my psi to 28 or below. I’m not sure if that is what you speak of, but I don’t have that issue you describe. I’ve ridden plenty of wheels and the L is the best.
Leaper kim wheel generally are much better tuned and balanced. But that is partly preferences if you are used to a certain weight distribution and ride feel other wheel will always feel "wrong"
The issue i take with subtle changes and again an S is it doesn't warrant another $3-4k investment just for softer lines and a bit better performance. It just goes to show customers the flaws the original has and yet they rushed it market anyway
I would still rather buy the Inmotion V14 50S. It has better design, front and rear light, more power and it is much easier to work on. And also looks much better.
Hopefully competition lowers both their prices, specially the v14 they seem to be both great wheels, Patton S seems to have the advantage of less maintenance, lighter, better software, much lower price and better build quality, the performance difference shouldnt be big, the v14 advantages you already mentioned and i would add the possibility of using only 2 packs so it could be even lighter than the Patton but with very reduced performance, would be interesting if they could do the same for the Patton
@@MacGyverCanada I just watched MacGiver. I was thinking more like the first digital Casio watches, but the Texas Instruments calculator is even better.
Does it still cut out and/or beep on hard braking with a fully charged battery? If yes, the wheel is still garbage imo Also, please, I beg of you, PLEASE use motorcycle sizing (Patton - 12", Lynx - 14", Falcon - 10", Master Pro - 17", V13 - 16"), old bicycle sizes are literatelly useless with modern wheels
EUC braking all regen and with a full battery they all run similar risk. But if you are aware and know not to go nuts in that first 5 min from a full charge then this isn't really a problem.
@@OWGAC I've only seen Pattons and Abramses falling on braking. And by braking i mean just going fast and then doing a really hard stop. Patton will not survive it, or at least will cut out. Any other wheel does not have that issue, I bought an ET Max for myself, and it doesn't cut out if I brake, never
@ every wheel has features that make it unsafe under certain conditions. Lack of suspension is unsafe. Inner tubes are unsafe. Lack of redundancy in hall sensors is unsafe. So a Tesla battery per 1 kw/h costs $120 usd, it's the latest chemistry LFP. EUC batteries are the old chemistry lithium, as you have 4 kw/h capacity, that's $480 usd (old chemistry). So what gives ? Do you feel your being ripped off, you should!
you can't compare tesla which sells millions of car a year, with a small Chinese company that maybe sells a few thousand wheel a year. but EV economy is weird, I am still trying to understand why Chinese EV is half the price of similar US EV

Happy Christmas Hsiang, many thanks for all you do to spread the good word and for bringing us great EUC content!
thank you and Merry Christmas to you too!!

LOL yeah its my 2nd favorite view, next to the behind the butt view! LOL
love my Patton OG, no need for upgrade jet. ❤
5:52 why there is a bolt sticking out of the suspension hole ? 😁
