That's so fake. Americans don't buy wagons. That's why there is no such choice. Audi has tried for many years to sell wagons in the US with the Allroad versions and no one buys them.
Americans are always complaining about not getting the wagons and hatchbacks, blame yourself and fellow countrymen and stop buying SUVs. You can't blame a commercial company not introducing models that don't sell.
Kyle, you should move over to Germany, you are very welcome. Yeah the car is great too! I would like to see an EV Wagon Race to Las Vegas....which probably will remain a dream....
Lots of folks don't like it, but I think the A6 looks great. PPE looks like a killer platform too - the 800v charges like a boss and thermals seem to be rock solid from Bjorn's 1000km challenge.
Two things: 1) Audi bring the Avant to the US!! 2) The reactions to the A6 design shows that automotive designers can't win with online car "enthusiasts". BMW does crazy stuff, it's too crazy. Audi does more restrained stuff and it's too boring. I honestly think the loudest people online don't actually like any new cars, they trash everything new, nothing's as good as what they already own. So exhausting.
Traded a beautiful Audi for my early Tesla Model 3 several years ago.. Would totally go back to Audi if they bring a nice A6 e-tron with NACS to the USA. Fingers crossed that their software is solid.
Lot of trends are because of the Chinese market, same with: big grills, mood lights, chrome in all the wrong places. Just be glad we don't get the curtains in Europe and US that would make the brothel on wheels complete. (A friend of mine told me what a brothel looks like from the inside.)
Thanks for the wonderful review. Despite numerous negative comments, I like the design and the liftback storage. With its long range and fast charging, this vehicle will outshine the Model S if Tesla does not get busy and refresh its more expensive vehicles. One question: when you opened the lower storage in the rear, you mentioned the presence of a spare tire. It is hard to believe a modern EV with a spare tire. Is that true?
They really should allow ordering the Avant (Wagon) state side. They don't need to keep them at the dealer (maybe just one in the showroom), I'm sure enough people would wait for it to be made and delivered.
I'm guessing (and hoping) they will in subsequent years. Audi likely can sell all they can make just in Europe for a good long while. Isn't the North American market simply too big just to write off wagons completely?
I mean, the RS6 Avant was initially only going to be a very limited one year thing here in the US. Each dealer was only getting 2. Years later, now, it's regular model available and not limited. That's due to demand, so people do want wagons enough for them to do that. I'm pretty sure if they made it available to order, people here will do so.
re: "They really should allow ordering the Avant (Wagon) state side. They don't need to keep them at the dealer..." exactly, just force those claiming to want one to place an order by "coming off the dime" with a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit (hint, they already know you've got the cash stacked up). then after a year of having that data in hand (good or bad) Audi NA can then use it to make the decision as to whether they will import them in mass to 'Murica as a regular model. it's the proverbial WIN/WIN situation.
Kyle have you received a letter from Audi extending the limited warranty on the drive motors for 2019-2022 E-tron's to 10 years or 120,000 miles. We just received our letter from Audi last week.
A very good introduction. For three years I leased an etron GT which was a terrific car, with some limitations. For the last year of my lease I had been hoping for this A6 but the launch was continuously delayed. So in May I switched to a BMW i4 M50, which performs as well as my GT but with better technology, brakes and steering. And $30,000 less. Having finally seen this car, I’m glad to have the BMW.
Hope we get a dark brown and dark red interiors in the US. I hope soon, they drop the E-Tron name from their EVs. Especially knowing that all even numbers going forward will be electric. So, seeing an A6, we know it's an EV and don't need the E-Tron name.
The lighting design alone and the road presence should tell you what the car is. You shouldn't need to see the logo to know what's behind you at night. The illuminated logo is only something a 16 year old would think looks good. It looks equally terrible on the Mercedes
@@otm646 Exactly. It's dumb and cheap looking on any car. Car enthusiasts don't need lit up logos to know what kind of car it is. We can tell by the lights at night.

Audi needs to rethink their press studio environment. Black background, black floors, dark cars - can barely see the product.
