Ive only done TC three times. I have had success all 3 times though. I used a stratum/perlite mix, RO water, a seed heating mat, with a humidity dome under light. I enjoy the process of watching plants grow big from little cultures

In my limited TC experience, my tip, I don’t think you can be too anal about getting all the agar off after debagging. I think my fails were related to this step. Maybe using a stronger fungicide like what you suggested would be a win here. I only used H2O2.
Growing my Thai Con from the dime sized plantlet I deflasked last Christmas into its current state has been one of the most satisfying successes of my personal plant journey. Getting the first pinnations and now fenestrations make me a proud plant parent and have a connection with the plant. It’s a ride I recommend to anyone that appreciates a challenge and wants to learn patience.
Thanks for the media tip! I have been using coco perlite, and not a fan of stratum.

Very interesting! I usually do not use any holes in the first two weeks, and until they're repotted they don't have drainage...hmmm... I'll have to research anaerobic.

Thanks for this tutorial! I'm about to import TC plants for the first time and I was not going to be that thorough about de-flasking. I'll use this tried and true method on the expensive stuff and order a few extra cheap plants to try out my experimental method hahah. Cheers from Canada!

Hi. Hoping you’ll answer - I have deflasked some drosera yesterday and was wondering if I can leave them in 100% humidity for 2 months [im travelling in and out of the city at the one month mark, so would rather do the acclimation process after I’m back properly]

Hey what do you do to keep pests out of hydro? I recently noticed these bugs in my substrate. They looked like fungus gnats but didn’t fly away.. but it was just as big as one. How would you treat this?
