    Nice. I remember asking you about this specifically when I found your channel a year ago. I was concerned as I had just had the plates installed and you hadnt recommended it. Glad to see you also approve of it. This is the second video in as many weeks, where you covered something that I'd asked you about a year ago. The other being on how to clean the injector by snaking the hoses directly into the liquid moli can (although you prefer to empty the oil filter and refill it with cleaner, but same idea). Keep up the great videos!

    Done all this preventive maintenance and got a sensible dyno tune with a 25% increase in torque runs great like how it should from new , whole bunch of other things changed like heat exchangers removed oil coolers in place , coolant re-routed and unfortunately I had to do a full injector replacement which was costly but couldn’t be helped once one or two go bad corroded nozzles you just gotta do the lot , the tune and injectors done at Berrima diesel nice work

    Can confirm all these points to be true for my case aswell however can add another couple , that since doing my blank (PX1 2015 3.2) I no longer get any black puff of smoke coming from exhaust whatesover . Before doing the blank there was always this very noticeable puff of black smoke everytime you hit the gas. Whether that black smoke was soot or unburnt fuel or combination of both, don't know but it is completely and I mean completely gone for good. Had the car since new and all the way up to 70,000 km mark this black smoke got progressively worse. Installed EGR delete at 70k and instantly smoke gone . The other appears to be more instant throttle response. ( and no not confusing with the installed EVC throttle controller) some mention it to do with how turbo spools up quicker , which does make sense.

    Fuel saving from EGR delete . Is complex and simple at the same time. Running a full egr I found very inconsistent fuel usage ,, After delete fitting variation stopped . Saving upto .5--.75 Ltr per 100km but no more . Combined with 1 other major fault from Ford another .75 Ltr per 100km model PJ PK .. Combined gain was min 50km upto 100km extra per tank

    So while I support the blocking of EGR, your suggestion that the inlet tract will clean itself of sludge over time is downright ridiculous. The only things that travel through the inlet after EGR blocking is clean air and engine blowby, so the sludge will continue to build up, not clean itself. Blocking the EGR is a 3 step process - plate, Provent 200, and ECU update to turn off the error. If your inlet is already badly sludged up, add step 4 - clean it out all the way to the valves. Alternatively you could fit water/meth injection which will gradually clean out the sludge.

    • @abdautomotive
      @abdautomotive  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      i've never had an intake clean , and mines clean as, the detergents in the diesel oil do all the cleaning via the tappet cover breather recirculating, the trick is Not to run a catch can and have a blanking plate.

    • @einfelder8262
      @einfelder8262 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@abdautomotive Rubbish. You even show the inlet sludge in the video. Why is that there if the detergent in the oil removes all the blowby - it is impossible for any oil to do that. The trick is 100% to run a catch can, as I have done forever in my EGR diesels. Perhaps understand why Mann-Hummel is a multibillion dollar/Euro company based on catch cans - I suspect they know a bit more than you about the need for catch cans.

    Lol, saving the environment by theoretically saving fuel while simultaneously emitting more noxious gases. You need to do more research on how egrs work in diesels. Cleaning the intake is a part of maintenance. And you didn't even mention the critical information that if you get caught modifying emissions equipment the fine will be in excess of $10'000.

    • @abdautomotive

      can you provide evidence in regards to this emitting more noxious gases? , i wouldn't mind researching this.
      i can't find an intake clean anywhere in the maintenance schedule service booklet of the ford ranger?
