I was crying laughing at this film like the scene where the guy has the gun and runs full speed at her without shooting before they crash into each other lmaooo. Or the fact that the guy who got stabbed like 20 times survived because he's in the Core 4 😂😂😂😂

Yeah fake out deaths are cheesy and lame or getting stabbed 18 times and surviving lol but still bloody and gory
Remember that scene with the ladder? Two of their friends just died and Wednesday girl makes a joke about enjoying hitting that old woman and smirks. And the father/police officer of dead girl was also standing next to them. 😂

Alex don't give no fuck. He gives his straight opinion and if people don't like it, oh well. It's just his opinion. But he's the cynic out of all of them. He holds things to a higher standard than most people. I'd almost call Alex hypersane at this point.

The plot armor and twist really brought down the quality of the movie down. They had one of the coolest kills in the movie only for the person to survive making me go WTF. How?
The bodega and train scene were my favorite of this movie.

My favorite was the diet Coke scene. It was the most realistic.
The bodega scene was amazing lol like when the first guy steps in front of him and even though it’s a mask you it still looked like ghost face was looking like “do you know who I am” with that little head tilt and him with the shotgun just felt right i don’t think any other slasher would look cool with any kinda gun but something about ghost face and a shotgun just felt right

I just walked out of the theater and what made me laugh so much was the scene where Sam and her sister steal the police car mid afternoon to rescue Gale while driving with the sirens- then the next frame it’s dark as night, like did you stop for dinner on the way???😭😭 Did her so bogus

I saw this movie in a 4D theater with moving seats that shook around and squirted water whenever someone got stabbed. Made it so goofy. Me and my buddy were giggling at every kill. Looked like psychos in the theater. The part with the shaking ladder was the funniest, cuz the seats shook in sync. Felt like ghost face was jostling us around like toddlers.

3/10 for me. That movie was stupid. People getting stabbed multiple times in the gut, and then running up the very next scene like nothing happened? And that happened SOOOO many times in the movie. People getting shot and shrugging it off too? Wtf.

I agree. Also at the end of the movie when the main character says to her boyfriend that she doesn’t trust him, that’s why he can’t come inside with them to that old cinema. But why would you let him know where you are hiding if you don’t trust him? 😂
I think I know how this movie fell apart. It comes from the writing room. Where Mindy explains how a franchise works and how now none of the main characters are safe. And then they decided to subvert your expectations, that they themselves set, by making the main characters literally unkillable. They played themselves.
She literally says they'll do that. In the part where she's explaining the rules, she tells you to not expect that. She's essentially saying the main characters would normally be vulnerable but because this is a franchise they have to flip it on its head and do what you wouldn't expect - aka, spare all the main characters.
"I am your step brother's, nephew's,cousin's twice removed former room mate..."

At the end of *most* Screams, they have a quick clip of Ghostface slashing the screen, showing up for a half sec and doing SOMETHING, which essentially indicates that Ghostface will return.

Scam 6. Wasn't worth it. The climax was really bad. People getting shot, stabbed, even stabbed through the mouth and back of the head, and still survive ... 🤦♂️
Quinns father was obviously involved with the killers from the start. Wasn't sure who his assistant would be.

I went to cinemark and after I bought a frame for the poster at walmart they give you at the entrance, it was pretty cool, enjoyed it a lot, always go to see them with my sister.

It might be a stretch, but I think that the GF that attacked Gale and her new boyfriend might have been Stu...the only evidence I have for this, besides the strength issue, is he went for the 2 handed over head stab. If you know your Scream lore, that's how Stu wields the knife. Could just be an Easter Egg, but it would explain him being able to headlock and toss the boyfriend through the bookshelf
I’d LOVE this, mainly because of the phone call being more personal and saying stuff about Sidney and Dewey. But it’s Quinn. She says at the end, as well as her having Stu’s mask on. So it was her doing his style of killing
One other thing that made me go wtf was when they explained how they faked the redheads death. The father said “I was first on the scene and I switched her out with a fresh dead body and used a PROSTHETIC.” I capitalized that because you would think the police would notice and also they would do an autopsy on the body.
@Dead shot Yeah, that line didn't explain anything to me. You would have to be a police chief, in order to pull that off. And you would still have to have a lot of crooked cops, like all of the top brass. And even then, you would have a whistleblower. Honestly, the only way they would be able to make that believable, would be if they said they were a part of the intelligence community.
Joe, the phrase you were looking for is when Mindy said this is a “sequel to a requel” haha. I loved this movie and forgave the ending a little bit more than ya’ll because the ride to get there was so fun and brutal. Great review!
With that level of predictability and the ending we got, it's nowhere NEAR an 8 out of 10.
I liked the first 2/3 of this movie but that last act was meh and I'd give it a 6.5/10
Yeah right! In Scream 5 I guessed the killers about 2/3 of the way through but with this one it only took me about half way.
This Is one of the worst movies I have ever seen... and people said Jason Takes Manhattan was bad. Ghostface takes Manhattan makes that look like The Godfather

For some reason, the neighbor has a ladder in a New York apartment, which is probably TINY, that is only long enough to reach the building window next to his. Oh and it’s conveniently nearby and he remembered AFTER the girl died. Trash is an understatement.

In scream 5 remember amber (the ghost face) was 115 lbs and was able to pick Dewey up a kill him lol
She didn't pick him up, that was just him reacting to a knife getting dug into his spine, which seems like a normal reaction l, trying to move away from the blade.
Neither killer in 4 was big. Emma Roberts is like 5'3" and like 120lbs soaking wet. The other killer was bit bigger but built like a string bean. Suspension of disbelief is apart of these movies.
The ending could of been better but honestly it was fine for what it was, a scream movie. One thing I did find kinda funny was the guy getting stabbed multiple times surviving again which made me think like damn dudes durable lol. But the ending could of been a bit better, the end had a few moments that could of dabbled in the psychological aspects of Sam where this family get what they want and get her to wear the mask but when she does it that’s when Billy would take over and begin killing again which would add a mixture of maybe supernatural aspects to her psychological situation. Maybe they could introduce a sequence where all the ghost face constumes would be used in a dream sequence that helps Sam get rid of her delusions for good and help her advance her life breaking free of her curse in her mind as Billy’s daughter. Could of been interesting

@@SinnerMann Yeah, I agree. I remember in part 2, Deputy Dewey had this limp from a ''severed nerve.'' I bet you in the next film, mysteriously all of the survivors will just have some scars but nothing else. I came to appreciate that the actor had to walk differently in the 1997 movie. Little touches like that, made it more real, it gave it a texture.
I like the theory of Stu from the first movie being the one that attacked gale.
Honestly what gave it away for me was when the cop asked about the girls' alibi and once she mentioned the therapist and one of the next scenes was the therapist by himself, I was thinking "Who else could have known about this therapist?"
Honestly, with half the stupid shit that happened in this movie, like the black girl surviving throws the whole movie's consistency in the garbage, i wouldn't put anything past them

But I don't get why the fellas are saying ''they suspected that the redhead was Ghostface'', when, Quinn got picked up by the coroner. How'd they fake that by the way? You are telling me the police officer dad can manipulate a whole crime scene investigation?
I double billed this with Creed on Sunday. I had a good time with both.
the movie had its cheesy parts for sure, but that's what drew me to the franchise in the first place. Overall I really enjoyed it.
Personally I don't really think the original films were cheesy. They tended to take themselves pretty seriously, even with the satirical meta commentary it was very grounded.
I loved Scream 6, but the characters surviving things that should have killed them was a bit too dumb for my liking

Scream is the fast and furious of scary movies
My primary issue with the two new Radio Silence Scream films lies heavily in their severe lack of originality. They simply do not know how to come up with something new. The first 4 films by Wes Craven were brilliant and truly spoke on what was happening at that time period in cinema. These two new movies are poorly done re-makes of Scream 1 and 2. If you pay attention to the dialogue, it’s clear that the reboot/requel is their primary goal; which is completely lazy and redundant. Boyfriend killer, Stu’s house for the finale, College for the 2nd setting, Parent of the ex-killer seeking revenge, etc, etc. The Character writing is lazy, all three of the killers are incapable of the strength shown throughout the movie, characters survived inexplicably after countless mortal stab wounds and gun shots, etc. Not to mention how lazy the fakeout death is compared to Scream 3. We never saw Roman be hunted or killed by Ghost Face; just him discovering the coffin and coming up with the idea vs “oh yeah we switched the bodies.” Lazy Writing!!!! This movie was just trying as hard as possible to shock us while being blatantly obvious that the killer would follow that of the Scream 2 reveal. Also, the lackluster lines like “Who cares about the movies” when the motive of the killer is to avenge someone who loved the movies so much. These writers are horrifyingly lazy and their lack of originality is highly concerning. Wes Craven is dearly missed.

As a generic horror thriller, Scream 6 is fine. But as part of the Scream franchise, it rank at 5 or 6 for me. It’s the most unrealistic in franchise.
I wish the "The Family Ghostface" in Scream 6 cracked Vin Diesel "Family" joke in the reveal.
The core four are called that because they work out their abs. This enables them to survive any attack to the body, even multiple kill wounds.

@@mazagoez7190i love the franchise, not because it’s scary, but because it’s a love story for the slasher genre. The movies are self aware and never really take it too seriously. Satire is what made this franchise unique

The amount of times people get stabbed like 10 plus times and live is just comical I thought the museum of all the scream movie weapons and costumes was pretty cool but ending was pretty horrendous
So fun fact, this is my first ever Scream movie I've ever seen(I saw bits and pieces of the first one, but I only know the movie because of Scary movie). So my original theory was that it was the shy boy(got that one right) and Chad because Ghost Face was hella strong in this movie, and Chad is a big dude

I literally agree with Alex 100%. This movie had me very entertained about 80% of the way through. Pretty much up until they get to the shrine room or to the “kill box”. I was thinking “wow is this going to be my favorite Scream sequel since Scream 2?!” Then I got to the 3rd act and said... NOPE. 😂
As bad as the 3rd act was I still enjoyed this movie way more than Scream 5.

The filmmakers missed a PRIME opportunity for some great locations. Someone being chased to the top of the statue of liberty and having ghost face running at them in the moonlight of the windows in the crown? Central park? Grand central station? Empire state building toss? The national museum?

I know it's supposed to be dumb fun, but dear god, levels fam. The cop runs at Sam with a gun in his hand? Or he turns around and he's still got time to shoot and he just keeps screaming "NO"? Chad getting pretty much knife acupunctured but bcs of the power of love survives. Tara getting stabbed and just walking it off. It was just too much
They have asked the writers before who killed who and I’m pretty sure the writers say they don’t think about it at the time and the ending of 6 shows that when the girl threw the guy through that book case could she said she stabbed Gale and there was only 1 killer there.

I think the ending of this movie was a complete re shoot. A lot of things don't make sense and I heard there was a different plan for this movie but things changed when Sidney wasn't on board. There are even lines seen in the trailer that were not in the movie like ghostface saying you never seen someone like me. IMO the killer was someone else and swapped last minute for this family.
Yeah i was missing that line but the first trailer released about 3 months before the movie came out so they probably already knew that Neve won't return this time
And they mostly do shoot different endings so even the actors don't know who the killer is

I haven't seen this quite yet, but it sounds like a lot of the plot holes could be solved by adding some big ex-military guy secretly working with the family (maybe an old family friend or something) to help kill off the varying characters.

This is the only horror franchise that has been consistent with the quality. I loved Scream 5 and 6. They also know what they have and dont take themselves too seriously. (Not as silly as Fast N furious) but entertaining and very fun none the less.
It’s easy to have consistent quality when there is no quality. Like gas station sushi…as long as you don’t get sick it’s good.

I was really hoping for a Cult of Ghostface killers in this one I thought that’s what they were going for in that train scene. You’re wondering which one is the killer then you shit bricks realizing they all are. That would’ve been epic. A squad of them.
Also it would be pretty sweet for Sam &/or Tara going full Dexter & serial killing other copycat Ghostfacers
Just got done watching it I was at the movie theater and it was a little bit better than the last one but I'd say it still wasn't great at all I mean they all ended up living pretty much so I was kind of lame
It was really enjoyable until the reveal, from the moment they revealed the killers it went off a cliff though along with a few cop outs on keeping certain characters alive.
The actual Ghostface scenes until that point were excellent though, those alone made it very worthwhile.
As usual, loved most of the films, hated the ending. I get it's a joke that the killers are always weak little dweebs, but it's getting old. Like for once could we get like an ex marine wearing a bulletproof vest, or like someone with special effects experience that pretends Billy Loomis has risen from the grave and that Ghostface is supernatural even though it's just effects. Something creative like that. But no, we get more whiny teens.

I hope the next movie explains how there was a 4th killer all along. That GF specifically wanted to kill the OG characters mainly from the first movie.
I love when the killer is exposed and they’re like “Yeah, of course it was me.” That gave me a pretty good laugh. The “hot guy” was hilarious too. I’m going to admit though, they had me for the whole movie. The whole time, I was convinced that it was someone we’re certainly familiar with in the series, but haven’t seen for a long time. I was hoping for it, but we didn’t get that at the end. Kind of bummed me out a bit. I’ll see these movies forever until that character comes back, but I also don’t think there is a reason for them to if Sidney is out of the series. Wouldn’t have made a ton of sense for them to be the killer in Scream 6, but I still would have loved it. As far as the “Core Four” characters getting stabbed a bunch and surviving, I think they’re kind of poking fun at the point that the core characters can’t die in order to lengthen out a horror series.
I'm not gonna lie, I had the same thought while watching it! I had somehow developed a theory early on where stu had returned to be the killer with a charred up face. Hence the burnt mask style that they chose. They also pointed out that "who knows if Stu actually died" so I was kind of getting pumped up for that. Also Stu's motivation would be that Billy reaped more notoriety than him and that Sam was also gaining notoriety through similar actions would cause him to want to return. As unrealistic as that sounds I think it could've been dope 🤷♂️

Courtney Cox being the executive producer for this movie makes sense now because she gets to have a knock down drag out fight even though he's IN her apartment..she even shoots at him but ends up being stabbed up and she then gets a death scene...but PMT to the rescue "she's still breathing" then carried off to come back in ANOTHER film, maybe loses her memory (so she can be any type of character, being the boss!) or even being a ghost face...thatd give me a seizure for sure!
