I love Joes expression during the Batman scene. First it's all happy and joking, waiting for Batman to escape. Then it's pondering, like why is he not doing anything? Then it's shock turning into anger.

I can’t call this a “Rocksteady” title. The founders, the lead devs, and literally 100 employees left. They formed Hundred Star Games (literally named after the PEOPLE that make their games incredible). WB puppeteered Rocksteady to have this created, it’s not the heart and soul of rocksteady.
Keep an eye out for HundredStarGames Joe. WB cannot be forgiven or forgotten for this.

That or batman almost killing dick, snap himself out before the final punch. Apologizing, to dick, say he's truly proud of him. Flaring up from brainiac again, and killing himself before the game proper starts as a way to ensure no counter contingency are made but also to give everyone a chance since THERE IS NO ANTI BATMAN CONTINGENCY. you find his body near the Wayne's gravestone or somewhere appropriate in which we now see Nightwing and Diana facing the justice league with the suicide squad, Diana helps take down flash, dick and the bat family brings the yellow lantern battery to help take down John Stewart green lantern, and superman manages to take everyone down, including Diana in which they all reconvene, up to argument whether Diana dying is fine or not, id rather she be captured to be brainwashed by brainiac so she becomes an opponent, dick helps the squad take down Diana, after she is defeated either brainiac proper comes in which a weakened Diana will hold back brainiac and ultimately dies in the battle. Ultimately dick helps the squad take down supes, he almost comes through but gets cheap shotted by brainiac. Everyone escapes, the last scene should be the squad vs brainiac where the squad almost wins until brainiac cheats, almost kills the squad but gets cheap shotted by Batman. He doesn't talk, and simply leaves. Brainiac is left there and his fate is decided by the player.
Is this better? Idk, but at least it redeems dick Graysons contribution to the story and that's all that matters to be

i guess you will say that about all the future games. since its clear the multiverse has opened and "arkhamverse" games in future will have infinite number of batmen, supermen, banes etc (or maybe just 13 because there are 13 universes in the multiverse...) so when the 13th batman dies then its really over. until then they find the 14th dimension

By the time Avengers released this game was too far along to change based on how that game did. The core problems with this game go way back in its development.

With Marvel's Avengers, I was waiting for it to be available on PS Plus so I can play the campaign "for free", just to experience playing the different characters and watching the story.
With this, I can't even be bothered to wait for it to go free because the gameplay looks boring as fuk, and the story looks like it will just piss me off.
I don't think they'll last "a few months", game is already dead and practically no one is interested in coming back to it to do the same chores they already went through once just in a different season; It'd be a waste of money.
If this game gets shut down, does that retcon this part of the Arkham universe?

One thing I will say is that this version of Harley is pretty much one of the most evil incarnations of the character. I kind of like that they write them as being absolutely awful people, who can still twistedly think of themselves as the heroes of their own story (Harley giving a lecture to Batman on sucking as a person is meant to be heavily hypocritical, but it is what an awful person would probably do in reality). Waller was more than OK with sacrificing them for a reason.
I absolutely hate this game, but Harley was like this in the original Arkham trilogy.
They also in-canon sewed the bodies together so the kids parents would further be hurt..so yea..
So. Bit of a lore dump. Captain Boomerang and the Rogues (Flash's normal foes) all have a code of respect and conduct. It keeps things from getting out of control when they fight. The last villain on the planet to piss on the Flash would be Boomer. Hells, he would be the guy to punch out the asshole who tried. Boomer RESPECTED Flash, because the Flash treated him decently. This is also why Boomer was on a lot of Task Force X teams, because he was smart, disciplined, skilled and never tried to commit more crimes on a mission. He avoided civilian casualties whenever he could and didn't let his ego get in the way.
Harley Quinn on the other hand is a mass murderer who has killed thousands of people, including kids. She has tortured, multilated, poisoned, blackmailed and done far worse. And she lectures Batman on morals.
They couldn't even write the bad guys properly despite them trying to prop them above the Justice League.
The Suicide Squad are the writer's self-inserts lmao
I would like to consider myself a Lantern lore buff. I'm not even sure where to start on how they handled the power ring. People like to say "oh it was corrupted." But the Guardians are one of the oldest living beings in the universe. It's safe to say they're also one of the smartest. They have contingency plans in case something like that happens to a ring or ring bearer. A Lantern wouldn't be able to run amok for long without some kind of intervention from Oa. But all that aside, even if he were somehow able to use the ring, I highly doubt King Shark has the will power to create such a large construct in the first place.

I've got some questions for Rocksteady...
Tbh she did something similar before. She died then came back since she is a plant lady. This game took the groot approach so instead of coming back as fully grown adult, she's back growing from plant to adult with her currently being a child. Also Poison Ivy doesn't just seduce men to their doom but women too, she's bi and been bi for awhile.
Was wondering about that, too. Kind of a weird choice and kind of disappointing because it moves her from the position of interesting side-character to pointless mascot.

The funny thing is, Bane *does* use guns. It's just that he needs to get his shit custom made because, surprise-surprise, a psychotic steroid junkie who can bench press armored cars like stuffed toys at a local carnival can't use firearms that were meant to be used by people with *normal hands* .
Don't worry though op, I'm not blind to the sarcasm in your comment. I'm just pointing something out. To add to your fact, Bane actually knows how to fight with weapons. But just like any other bad guy who has access to super strength, he prefers a more "hands on" approach when he kills people.
To make matters worse, Bane's one of the few big name Batman villains who get stuck with bad writers who think he's just a street-level version of the Hulk from Marvel. The same writers who change Harvey Dent to always look like an asshole before he got disfigured. The same writers who keep forgetting that Penguin isn't crazy, he's just as much of an asshole crime boss as Black Mask and everybody else at Blackgate. The *same* , *writers* , who can't tell whether or not Batman has more contingency plans for his enemies than his own kids.

Well to be fair, they weren't planning locking asura's wrath behind a dlc paywall from the start. The reason why the game ended on the cliffhanger it did was because they were planning on making a sequel. Unfortunately, the game's sales didn't quite hit the mark. So they had to resort to making the planned conclusion a dlc pack to give us closure on Asura's story instead.
This is how it happened. This is how Rocksteady died.

The only good thing this game did to me was:
* made me play the other Arkham games.
*Made me appreciate the voice of Kevin Conroy
*Made me rekindle my love for Batman.
* made think i treated Arkham Origins too harshly
I love Batman, and Arkham City is legitimately one of my favorite games of all time. The existence of this game is a sad fact and I'll never accept it as canon.

Arkham Origins was fine and had some of the best boss fights. The only thing I hated about it is that it was just but another Joker story. There's far top many baddies in Batmans rogues gallery for them to constantly center everything around the effing Joker

Its weird how many professional critic sites are giving this average to good reviews even when they say it has boring repetitive uninspired gameplay and dull outdated mechanics. Even more suspicious is how none of the professional critics mention the ridiculous microtransaction and paid lootbox horse crap. Out of sheer morbid curiosity I checked out the thread on the ajs review on the game's subreddit, and surprisingly the majority of people were agreeing or respecting his points/opinions - even the people that claimed they're not a fan of ajs. When even former diehards are siding with angry joe, you know their game done fucked up. I hate emotes in games. Ever since they started existing, I hate them. It's one of the hallmarks of modern gaming and live services.
Batman's death scene is the equivalent of Joel's death scene in TLOU2. It's very insulting to their characters, legacy, fans and the franchise. Batman and Joel deserve better than their dogsh*t death scene. God, i'm hate it so much, it's unreal.
3/10 is way to generous of a score, it's basically a 1.5/10
I'd go with 2/10... but then again, just because there's a small sum of good stuff in a trash heap, doesn't mean it's worth the time or money.

It's so obnoxious how Harley Quinn suddenly became some kind of Anti-hero and they have to now rewrite her toxic relationship with the joker as something she regrets. In Arkham Knight she was still obsessed with him, even after his death and she was free of him. This Harley was not the girl power version they're trying to promote, they just rewrote her. If they're gonna do that, and then change Deadshot with a really weak excuse, why are they setting this in the Arkhamverse? Just so when I play Arkham Asylum, City, Origins, or Knight, I just get this bad taste in my mouth that Batman is gonna be brainwashed into breaking his rule? This game made a series of excellent games feel worse retroactively. That's really saying something.
With how well Injustice 2 handled Harley (IMO) I'm honestly surprised they didn't take inspiration from that.

THIS... I've been saying this for years, though there is a game that was released a couple weeks before the first MUA called Justice League Heroes. It's pretty much the same as game, but. I would say MUA has a better story and slightly better gameplay
Playing with all of the characters feels exactly how you would expect them to and the roster is pretty good. You can even play with different version of characters (Jay Garrick Flash or Hal Jordan Green Lantern) just like in MUA. If it would be remastered with better graphics, a longer and updated story it would easily be a top seller. I'd even be fine with more characters as DLC as long as they are of the same quality or better
I would definitely recommend playing if you haven't already, feel like a lot of the younger DC fans have never gotten to experience this gem of a superhero game

Borderlands really set a high bar for the looter shooter genre. Don't understand how games can't just take the basic principals from Borderlands and destiny and apply it into their games. Borderlands is now a decade old at this point and still remains to be the undefeated champion of looter shooters, a game I come back to every other month to do a play through on and every time without fail its fun as hell. Best part is, its not shoving micro transactions down my throat when im grinding out some gear for my characters.
The fact that this came out pretty much at the same time as Helldivers 2, which did the live service coop simple mission format absolutely perfectly for $30 less is just the final nail in the coffin too

Harley talking down to Batman like she has any kind of moral high-ground is all the proof I need that the people in this games writing room were not there for the previous games. Or it's an executives decision, and that exec missed the part where this Harley was complicit accessory to the actions of the most murderous version of the Joker we've gotten, grieved his death through Arkham Knight, never had a falling out or moment of realization he was a monster, she loved him to the end and beyond that and was more wrapped up in her outfit looking hot than how many people Joker hurt.
And the big fat head-sized cherry on this comically large creme-pie of a decision, this version of Harley talked a man into suicide after Joker had the mans daughter tested on with Titan formula before Arkham Asylum. This version of Harley is a demented monster and deserves no amount of "Anti-Hero" status or sympathy.

I miss Origins’ online. That had so much heart put into it and it wasn’t even the main game.
Origins is awesome and I am very happy to see a lot of people coming around on it.
Origins isn’t as good as the other Arkham games, but it’s still a solid game.
I am legitimately disappointed that Origins has never gotten the HD treatment like the rest of the series. Mostly because it's the one I never got to play.

Same reason the Lego Batman games haven’t been made into a collection. The only way would be to remaster it without it but then it would lose a lot of its luster, the soundtrack is probably my all time favorite soundtrack for a game.

Note - All of them can block bullets and/or dodge with super speed.
It would have made sense if there are glimpses of control by the original heroes, fighting to take control of their bodies, their love ones, like let's say Iris, attached a wristband that slows the flash. Knowing what Suicide squad needs to do, the Flash stops for a moment to get shot intentionally. At the end of the fight, they give a speech, a hint, on how to defeat them, apologizes for what they've done and need to stop the rest of heroes. Instead of pissing on him.

@@darklyger64 that would only work if the events of the game happened just days after Brainiac arrived, at that point everyone likely would have been fighting whatever control Brainiac had put on them but if they take place weeks later then I don't know, at that point did they even recognize who they were anymore which I think is what even Boomerang was trying to tell Wonder Woman especially after they all WITNESS Batman killing people, her friends were gone there was nothing she could have done now to save them and even if they were somehow freed from whatever Brainiac did, how do you think they would have felt knowing that they had blood on their hands.

When it took this long for this game, yet it took Rocksteady six years to make the core Arkham trilogy. It has me wonder what the hell happened behind the scenes.
@@sv8729 From what I understand, originally WB Montereal was making a follow up SS game to its Arkham Origins game that was hinted at the end where Amanda Waller recruits Deathstroke into the Suicide Squad. It spent time in development hell and they ended work on it, with Rocksteady picking up where they left off while WB Montreal made Gotham Knights.
Another thing was that this game was delayed by a year or two I think, and they spent that time turning it into live service IIRC.
I agree because there are so many things about this game that look like they were crafted with love. The traversal system is really well done, hell Harley's grapnel wire wraps around poles if you can do so. But so much else looked like it was rushed or dumbed down.
It definitely feels like they wanted to make a more traditional Rocksteady game but with the Suicide Squad, but WB forced them to make a LIve Service shooter instead. That's about as much as I remember, I too am awaiting a Wha Happun for a more in depth breakdown.

Harley's mental health was so damaged when Batman kept her from attending Joker's party at Arkham Asylum. And took a bigger hit when he kept her from murdering police (and him) in Arkham City. Henry Adams killing the other patients was the last straw, but of course him doing that was Batman's fault.
