Wow, finally interesting speculation. I also want next gen feeling from this game like it was with unity. Also excited about prone movement like MGS5, TLOU2. Maybe they even add learned motion matching tech

I think if assassins creed was done right it could be number 1! I mean there is a lot of good games but assassins creed is on my top 3 for sure!!
After watching the TV series Shogun recently, i am excited for what Ubisoft will do with a Japanese setting for Assassin's Creed, and i just hope thsy don't disappoint us.
I just wish it wasn't going to essentially be AC Odyssey 2.0 with a different skin on it, which i fear is the case
A few years ago i came up with the concept of an hypthitheical AC title set during the early 1800s Nepoleonic Wars, starring a solo female protagonist.
Personally I don’t think it’ll ever be as far as Odyssey went from the franchise, that was a bold swing they don’t wanna take again any time soon
Still very sceptical about it. I hope they create a good stealth system at least and don’t have it too combat focused

Red is being made by the big team, that is true, but is Ubisoft Quebec, the team of Odyssey, not Montreal
9:58. Worst part is that Ac unity did everything better. The facial animations cutscenes dialogue abd movement everything better than its ancestors and predecessors
It is an interesting idea to think which audience they're trying to market to but love the "assassins creed is never gonna be the same longer than a year at a time"😂

In reality, samurai were also shinobi. The real historical shinobi is way different than pop culture . For one, they didn't all go around in all black, and there are lots of great non bias documentaries here on TH-cam

It’s not a 1:1 situation with samurai and ninja being mortal enemies because you can have both groups being part of the same faction
Because the entire Edo period is the direct result of the assassins winning

Playing as the ninja should be like a cheat code for Assassin's Creed
Either way, do not preorder! And yes, you are right! The franchise is in desperate need for “feeling new and up to date”. Even the more recent games feel surprisingly old! Heck, Unity is the most advanced game tbh..

@JosephCasimir-ci5bf Syndicate's story is lacking and I absolutely hate Odyssey.
*It comes off* like Quebec doesn't like being tied with Assassin's Creed and is only forced to do it by publisher intervention as their games are constantly trying to distance itself from it
Odyssey story is better than the gameplay. If the characters weren't as good as they are I would never have gotten 10 hours in before I gave up on it.
I'm sold. Odyssey is favorite game of all time, and Japan is my favorite setting. Its gonna be amazing. Only complaint is Yasuke. Terrible choice.
I can understand making your own character like Unity or Rise of Ronin.

I only worry that TH-camrs will ruin the game. Odyssey and Origins was the best and I want a game like that.
I think it’s important to be realistic and fair about it, a lot of people are going to have unreasonable expectations. Even if the game doesn’t turn out how I’d like it to, it could still be a good game and that’s important to keep in mind
After playing Mirage, I’m not excited at all. Mirage plays horribly. The RPG engine is barely decent as is but trying to make that engine work with stealth when it was never designed for it just makes it worse.
Also, writing in Mirage and Odyssey was HORRIBLE
Its gonna be terrible, the whole series has died years ago with syndicate
