I've spent a summer like 10 years ago playing Warframe. It's somehow comforting that after all those add-ons and extra systems, the Jackal still drops the Rhino part.
@@Living-LegendArchwing, Rail Jack, Syndicates, etc. Systems that are more tacked on than integrated. Kinda hard to add a good integrated system after you've already done the foundation though so I can't fault the devs too hard
@@techwizsmith7963 I guess I was confused by his post, I thought he meant that they would’ve change the loot pool for Jackal. They introduced the Duviri Circuit, which I think is a tremendous help to new players.
The best part about warframe is that it's been getting better and better recently, instead of ups and downs. Most downs are minor downs, but most ups are major ups.
@@bezovrinho I'm saying what people typically associate with endgames, such as maximum level enemies/bosses, or advanced mechanics, are all rendered useless before our sheer firepower and will to farm. Someone is going to find a cheese, or shortcut, and when they do it becomes a Limbo Scarlet Spear situation. I do think what Triburos (the Loki guy content creator) believes about CC frames will be important if they ever try to crack at something like a raid. It seems they've finally thrown together a good endgame plan, though, because going for flexibility and team composition is a much better plan than trying to overwhelm with numbers or damage, while ability denial in the cases of nullifiers or Overguard just hurts a core of the game.
I feel like playing Warframe as someone who is new/returning is like sitting down to watch a show, but it's on Season 10. You want to watch the previous seasons to catch up with what is going on so you can both appreciate it and not be overwhelmed, but each season is hidden around the house and it's your job to go find them. Also they're not labeled so you won't know what season you just found until you start watching it.
Actually, that's rather well-said. The stories of each quest by themselves is enough to drive its' own plot, but the overall story is definitely NOT as episodic.
Literally just trying to unlock the New War questline required like 20 hours of prep & grinding lmao. I was so confused but it was so satisfying when I finally completed the quest
Also the buggy mess this game is i abandoned it like in late 2018 and the hidden messages quest was half finished and wheni returned i had only one part for mriage and the game labelled it finished so no mirage either the build on my excalibur is basically useless now since i can't recharge my health with atacks on my exalted blade the energy from damage doesn't seem to work correctly either so basically my health steal melee frame is f@cked i tried to play so asassination mission to finish the star chart every fknig assasination target enemy is invulnerable and no ponit the game tells you how to do it needed to watch videos for it and i tried and actually build the railjackshłt in a day or so and the first mission an't be finished since the enamy ship can't be shot down so i jsut decided the game isn't worth it....
@@maszkalman3676sounds like something was wrong with your ability to play the game. Skill issue, and the fact that you don’t understand the mechanics of those mods or weapons. But if that’s all it takes to make you lose hope in the game. I wish you success on the next one. Just read the guides first
Nah bro I don't want to hear about too much. In 2020 they made 200 million dollars alone. We need to hold these companies at a higher standard, it's why EA Rockstar and other devs give us underdeveloped games and use the constant patches and hot fixes and dlcs and updates to keep us wrapped in. We deserve better, these people are becoming filthy rich off the game industry and that's not the problem bit the games now compared to just 10 years ago don't even compare. We got way more for our money back then compared to now. Warframe is the BEST example I do have of a modern game that anybody can get any item in the whole game by just playing. Name 1 other game like that that's been out in the last 10 years and is free to play. I mean for example the gauss trailer SUCKED! in the trailer it portrays him doing stuff he just doesn't do in game. Also the new material were getting seems rushed. It seems lackadaisical. I mean they've had months to give us the dante update and it's soooo hyped and in the first day they had 2 or 3 hot fixes and or patches and dante himself wasn't even working properly. How can you just release something and it already doesn't work right within hours of releasing it. Why didn't they check this how did that get thru. It was like his ult not doing the full amount of damage and there was something else that was released in the patch and didn't work right. Wtf are they rushing for? Why isn't it done right before you release it. It's not just warframe and de it's every single game and developer out there now. When I used to buy a game I hot the full game for 1 price. These kids out here spending 300 dollars on 1 game just for some skins that don't transfer to the very next year's game that's coming out lol. It's also like we should have had a retail we should have had warframe2 when all the operator stuff and helminth and open worlds came out it was soooooo different from regular game mechanics and play it should have been wf2. I dunno these guys got the money the time and talent bit why would they put their all into 1 game when they can just stretch it out for 10 Yeats and five you little by little and keep draining the bank. Why only get you on the 1 time purchase of 60 bucks for the game when they can get you for 20 dollars every 3 months for the last 10 years 😂 it's a ploy it's a plot it's planned. The gaming industry is shit!
It's almost impossible to make p cinematics for the core game, at least ones that are very Warframe focused. With over 50 Warframe's and hundreds of weapons the player has, you can't really make a cool cinematic of them fighting since there are so many variables.
you do know that most cutscenes in videos games these days are rendered in game right? So your customized character with whatever weapons would show up during a cinematic. Think of GTA V or literally any of game where you customize a character @@godzelda123
Worth mentioning about the endgame: with the recent Dante Unbound mainline update, there was supposed to come out a new weekly endgame activity (though it has been delayed until next week's hotfix). The mode costs 2 Netracell entrance's for a given week to unlock, sports higher enemy levels (on stream we were shown levels in 300s, though they've said those are still subject to change). It consists of 3 back-to-back missions, where you can't change your loudout inbetween (similar to DRG's Deep Dives) and to earn rewards you choose restrictions (restricted to some random Warframes/weapons chosen for this week, as well as debuffs on yourself), with all restrictions needing to be active at the same time to get 100% of the rewards. After unlocking it for the week you can replay it however many times you want, though each reward tier can only be received once (basically you can at most earn all the tiers each week once).
People are actually happy about this idea...? What? So let me get this straight, we first we had Sorties, then Steel Path and Arbitrations, then Archons which is literally just "Sorties but ten times more annoying and time-consuming for normal players" and also made Sorties obsolete if you are capable of doing Archon missions. And now it's just Sorties but even more annoying due to the ever-increasing enemy levels for this sort of content, and you HAVE to play the full thing in one sitting. When are people gonna start to realize it's all filling the same purpose of a bandaid ""endgame"" mode while not addressing any of the already present flaws and just contributing to further powercreep? As well as the sense that you don't actually get stronger as you progress in the game and improve your builds. All of these modes are just a chore and a DPS check, and as they go on the DPS check gets increasingly more asinine in attempts to address how gamebreakingly powerful players can get due to awful decisions on the DEVELOPERS part. Even if we had no endgame, Warframe lategame used to be fun at one point and you could actually have fun playing the game in whatever style you want. Now you just HAVE to minmax if you want any of the new cool loot or to engage with this new content at all. Balancing has been completely thrown out the window in favor of pretending the entire game's balancing and player power scaling now revolves around how far a select few posers can take the game in hours-long endurance runs, while realistically most players aren't gonna care about that and will just be locked out of the new content and loot OR be forced to deal with increasingly hp-bloated spongy enemies. I still think Overguard is an unintuitive mess that indirectly makes many weapons feel less impactful than they were before.
@@b.w.s3165 Warframe is literally a power fantasy game, nothing about it meant to be hard or diffucult if you just use a halfway decent build. 100% of the content in this game can be cleared with a very average build with little to no thought on minmaxxing if you just know what you're doing, and if you're doing "endgame" content like Archons and Netracells, you 100% know what kind of build you need to breeze through said content. Of course people are happy for a new endgame game mode that rewards even more of the single best loot in the entire game (Archon Shards) The increased challange is just a bonus for most people, and if you don't like being limited in what you can bring on said mission, you can just not choose that modifier, even with half the modifiers active you can still get the Archon Shards, you will just be missing out on a random decent arcane that most people don't really even care about.
the monetization in the game could be described as "Pay 2 not play" its one of the best monetization schemes i have ever seen in an MMO and its mostly the reason i keep coming back to the game
The one thing I think is kind of bad about the monetization is having to pay for extra slots. What makes the game fun is having access to a lot of different Warframes and weapons, and it's impossible to attain that without spending platinum. What makes it bearable, though, is that you can trade for that platinum. It's still pay-to-win because that platinum had to be obtained with real money, but it doesn't have to be you who pays. Basically, the whales are financing the F2P player experience.
@@Zuxtron Quite true, especially considering that a lot of what the whales would typically buy directly from the store in any other game, _must_ be obtained from gameplay. Just not necessarily the whale's gameplay. It gives the game an actual economy.

I agree. I want to play it but every time I do I'm in for a couple of days them buggered off, then come back and find myself more confused than before I left.
20:33 this mode is actually designed for new players to also get a taste of different and powerful builds they don’t have access to, providing a goal for them to work towards. Its duplicitous nature is what makes this game mode exceptionally well designed.

Warframe seems like a weird one to start a series like this with, its so different from a lot of MMOs with a somewhat different audience and genre, so it seems like the kind of game you would get to once you have the formula and direction of the series already down and are ready for something to shake it up a little or break the flow. Its a great game with a horrible introduction and early game progression with the sheer amount of content that has been added over time which is plenty to talk about for a series like this, but its also a third person si-fi movement shooter with horde shooter elements and instanced levels, which is very different from most MMOs.
@@blvckl0tcs750 im not against it being labeled an MMO, some people even call it a psudo-MMO to be more specific, it just seems like a weird one to start a series with
Wow, what an incredible video! The opening and closing sections absolutely brilliant! You once again showcase superb editing, alongside humour and a thorough review of the game. Love this new series, can't wait for further games. Hats off to you Mitch
The best thing about Warframe is that if you reached end-game, you are not pressured to play really either... FOMO in Warframe is significantly low, especially considering that you can buy any vaulted prime parts from the market and all you need to do is farm void relics for a few days... Also, if you have 2-3 meta builds, you can leave for 2 years and you'll still have at least 1-2 of them that are meta and strong, maybe there are some new systems which you unlock in a day or two and you can ravage the new game modes and quests.
@@jeremiahjohnson2784 They aren't that hard to farm, you can get 2 per week, and you only need to put them into your main builds. For example a stealth frame doesn't really need it. You build up your main frames and you can slack off with that too.
there is 1 major source of FOMO in the game: Nightwave. there are cosmetics and mods that you have no idea when they will come back, or even IF they will come back but it's not that hard to grind it out (as long as you don't wait until the last week to get it all done. just do all the weeklies, and the occasional elite weekly and you're fine XD. 5 hours a week, tops) and you should hit rank 30 before long it is a source of FOMO, but if that is the worst FOMO Warframe has to offer, then it's in a damn good spot as far as FOMO goes
Warframe should be the gold standard for f2p games. I’ve spent money on it but only because I enjoy it so much and definitely never felt pressured to. The only thing in game you can’t farm is a super small collection of cosmetics. Everything else cosmetics or not can be farmed or bought with platinum which can be farmed, as well. Amazing video dude.
It's worth mentioning said cosmetics only cost cold hard cash because _they're player made,_ with some of the proceeds going to the person who made it.
I feel like you haven't talked enough about the core gameplay loop of making a build, going into a mission, and messing up entire rooms of enemies. The main thing i enjoy about warframe, above the great story, above the graphucs, and above the customization, is the gameplay loop. Shooting, using melee weapons, bullet jumping around, and comboing abilities. All these things are just so fun to do over and over again. In retrospect, and especially if you intend on making this a whole series, maybe talk more about the combat/core gameplay?
Yeah, the fact that Warframe not only talks about being superhuman bullshit murder machine but allows you to experience it properly is the best part. Traveling at Mach 3 over the map murdering everything in your path is a very different experience to most other games. The closest was probably Jedi Academy multiplayer with people who could use Force Speed effectively - which, for the record, was complete bullshit, as unlike in singleplayer it didn't give you bullet time and you needed steer your character at 2-3 times the normal speed while trying to sword everyone around you.
@@zoolimar9989 Yep, there's a reason why there's always that one comment that shows up every time someone new is watching the cinematics and trailers and someone goes "no exaggeration btw, you can actually do all of that crazy cinematic shit in-game". I've always said Warframe starts out like Tenchu with your first starter frame and then metamorphoses into Dynasty Warriors with your first Steel Path build.
He doesn't need to you can see it in the game play why we didn't why do you people think that reverse need to talk about every little f****** thing when some things are just self-explanatory if somebody really needs that explain to them and they really need to wonder why in the first place.
I played this game for the first time when it was released. My experience was different to yours. I didn't feel lost at all. I chosen what I thought was a female Warframe. I then met this really kind guy that was so sweet. He allowed me to complete the tutorial as well as the early content while guiding me through it. After a while, he wanted to get to know me more. He never pushed for this. He was very considerate while also being patient. I can strongly recommend the community. The fact that most of the boys on there are so kind to play with makes it so much better for any girls like myself who wish to meet a kind man. I don't think they are all kind though. I think there's some really rude ones too. Anyway, we discovered that we live closer to each other than I realized. I was never expecting him to be living in the same apartment building as me. I was afraid to approach him in real life because I didn't think he would want to talk to me. He assured me that it's okay if we hangout a little. We went to a nearby Starbucks to which he showed up dressed similar to the Stalker from this game. At first, I thought it was weird while he assured me that he just wanted to make me laugh. We got talking and before I knew it, I was back at his apartment room. I won't tell you what happened from here but let's just say I became MR 30 in many different ways! I also felt that all my mods were upgraded the moment we touched. Oops, I'm spoiling the fun! xD 😉❤
Because you asked to let you know our thoughts, I'll share mine: This video and it's style was intriguing and I might have watched more, but I really would have wanted chapter markers. It's really helpful to me to see the structure of the video. Not just because I'd want to skip to the parts I think I like, but because it simply helps me a lot in settling in to the video. So, please consider adding chapter markers.
It was that song making me strongly consider watching Jackie Chan's Armour Of God - the musical style is totally different but the era vibes are very strong.
Jortstorm-Slimecicle the one in the video seems to be instrumental Edit: At the end, you can see him playing his own cover of it. Would love it if he uploaded it seperatly.
Pvp being dead is an absolute positive for me. Less draw for people that are toxicly competitive, more enjoyable playerbase to interact with. Less devtime spent working on a part of the game I despise, more spent on parts of the game I'm actually going to enjoy. Kinda sick of it being treated like it's some sort of bad thing. The game would just be worse if the devs put more focus on pvp. Otherwise, spot on video.
Yeah cuz pvp needs its own balance team and balance patch. We can see how much pve of Fortnite Save the world got "abandoned" even before the release of Fortnite pvp. (they still nailed their pvp and such, but to keep expenses low they didn't keep a huge pve dev crew) I don't want that to happen to warframe, and i don't want them to sink money into a pvp team if they don't really want to either.
100% agree. Nothing worse than getting some PvP "balance" patch screwing PvE side completely, meta becoming the only way to play and so called "competitive" toxic people ruining the whole atmosphere.
bro! i stopped it at 1:40! that intro, for warframe set to an 80s soundtrack, is SICK!!! starting it over to appreciate one more time before continuing. sick!
as a veteran player of warframe and many other mmos you have earned my sub by your accurate and great review of a game that i do love. as others have stated warframe took the opposite stance to pvp and pve as "fortnite" and they realised pretty early on that most of their comunity doesnt enjoy the pvp side so instead they maintain the pve side and they do that "fairly" well. most of the recent changes (that i think you missed actually because of your fortuitous timing) have improved the gameplay for new and casual players to a massive degree. secondly i always find it hard to overly fault "old" MMOs for having a confusing to new player experience because after a point in time developers have to take a stand on what they want to do... do they want to bring in new players for a short time, or do they want to keep most players a long time... i have played most mmos out today and almost all of the 5-10yr+ old mmos have HORRIBLE new player experiences except 1 (ill leave that for your future videos im hoping to see), however compared to most older mmos warframes "failures" are far less harmful to new player experience then most. (runescape 3, destiny 2, guildwars, ill even add wow) and finally i want to give my props to the devs of warframe about their monitization plan and how... good.. of a take it has been, recently they made a mistake with their goals and pissed off a very large portion of the community and what did they do? within 24h they listened to their players and made changes to their idea and compinsated players who didnt mind spending that money. Another comment described warframes "P2W" perfectly as either to "pay to play sooner" or "pay to skip (the grind)" and i believe that is the perfect way to do P2W. i "had" 3 warframe accounts (prior to crossplay and the merging) and 1 of them i payed, 2 of them where entirely free to play... and the "better" of the f2p accounts was at the exact same stage and progression of the p2w account because of how well designed the grinding and the core gameplay of warframe is. the only "real" downfall of the game imo is the fact that it is a grinding game and because of that not for every player. any new players reading this or watching this dont give up hope when you get lost, watch guides and ask the players for help, warframe has the ABSOLUTE BEST community player base of any MMO and i will die on that hill. tennos help each other out and lift each other up (sorry for the book i wanted to add my opinions as well for other players new and old)
I sank a fair bit of cash & time into Warframe, and genuinely enjoyed it. I loathed Arc Wing though, and dropped out at the ice planet expansion. I was a Vauban fan boi. Octavia Warframe was one of the most unique classes in any game I've played as well.
Archwing had a really rough development. It's in a better place now than back then, but it is still undercooked. It went from being a sort of arcade-y hallway flying game to a clunky (and bad) space flight mode, but now it sort of landed in an Interceptor sort of counterpart to the much heavier Railjack unit. Which works decently well if only the archwings besides Amesha meant anything. It needs another pass, on the archwings themselves, but they're on the tail of making them worth using IMO. Octavia and Equinox were the first of the "new gen" mechanic frames imo, and Octavia is perhaps one of the most mechanically advanced ones at face value. A lot of frames got updates since that make their kits more complex (but not detrimentally so), though none of them have a musical sequencer haha
@@VertietRyperYeah arch wings are the sub fighter style of gameplay in railjack for sure. I love shooting out of the ship and entering the other ships and blowing them up from the inside.
This'll be a fun series! One thing I always appreciated about your channel is that you do indeed highlight the problems in a game. But you don't downplay what was fun.
Amazing choice of music and visuals from the get go, right through to the MitchManix special at the end! ❤ Glad to see your immense passion for this game while still giving a fair review and being critical, and somehow making me laugh and dance like a crazy person throughout lol cant wait for the next one! 😂🎉
Now this was a very comprehensive and balanced look at this game. I have had this game in my library for awhile and have been wondering if it was going to be for me and with this vid I think it might be! That ending scene though was epic as all heck! Definitely was a great way to end this one 👨🎤 great now I got to carve out time for another game thanks a lot Mitch! 😏🍻
Great analysis, man. I like how you well highlighted the strengths of the game, as well as those that can and should be improved. And, the final track is my applause 👏👏👏
Finally, a video I can now genuinely recommend to anyone who I try to get into the game. Excellent points, well-structured, and just overall honest with no sugarcoating.
Duviri being available so early on is nice to have for new players, even if they aren't going to understand what's going on for another hundred hours. The Duviri melee weapons are very solid and probably some of the strongest weapons you can get that early in the game. Kullervo is a respectable power spike as well, but, if I were to start a new account, I doubt I would change away from Mag until I had a companion with a decently upgraded vacuum mod.
You did an amazing job with this video, it supersedes all prior videos that have striven to do the same. It's also the most fair. Cheers, thanks for making it!
Warframe is an amazing game that will never reach it's true potential because it's trapped in live service development hell. They release content and never expand on it just move on to the next thing. So much stuff in the game has so much potential... but they need to keep making new things.
Yuuuup. Railjack could have been so fucking awesome if they just made it like they originally advertised it. An intermidiate between normal starchart missions, a way to travel between nodes and planets instead of teleporting from the starchart but nooope. Now they are just mildly shitty missions like everything else.
Yeah the fanbase have been playing the game while it was in development new contents take 2-3 weeks to master for the vets now. If Warframe ever decided to drop a last new content and focus on revamping their existing stuff for like a year, vets would just blitz through that last contest and leave the game, causing a massive drop in concurrent players stats until DE retract their word and start feeding the player base new content again. That's the main issue with building a game like this. Grinding for stuff is the game, once you get the stuff there's nowhere really to use it so you essentially completed the game and you move onto the next one until the devs release new stuff to grind for.
That was one of the biggest reasons why I quit several years ago, and haven't touched it since. They added new stuff, didn't work on/balance it properly, then moved on. Like, why the hell is the conclave even still in the game? Just remove it. Pvp in a pve game was a terrible idea anyway. The devs don't know what games they want to make. They're good at pretty much one thing, consistently: Presentation.
About end game I ran across a comment that I feel might actually be the end game: Adopting a new player and guiding them through the early game. Rinse and repeat, like most of warframe.
I need this game to have a good new player experience, cuz I wanna recommend it but unless they have the right brainworms it won't click for most I'm afraid. Great vid!
I agree with this really. And I just really enjoy DE and how they connect with the community, the streams are always pretty fun and relatively engaging and transparent. It’s genuinely one of those games where you need to get through the struggling start to see its true beauty
I would have added about the the Pay to Win section: EVEN if you purchase a warframe, or a gun for your convience of not just farming it, it will not be powerful. It will NOT will you the game. You would need to get mods, which are not available in the ingame shop. and you will need credits & endo to upgrade those mods, which you cannot purchase and must play the game to obtain. At the end of the day, you have to play the game to win. You have to play to get better. There really is no short cut, or pay-to-win.
11:45 There is a quest later on K-Drives for a warframe that tells you all the trick and combos you can do with it; It is straight up Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
I tried Warframe before the open worlds were introduced and liked it. I tried Warframe after the open worlds update and liked it despite being more lost than a goldfish in Antartica. I look at the game now and the same applies. I am not the type the person who gets hooked to theese type of grindy games but I still greatly value Warframe for what it does and for the care and passion it exudes compared to any other F2P games. The only thing I can say now is that I wish TF2 got the same treatment from the devs that this game recieves. Warframe is the gold standard of a good F2P game.
I've always been interested in giving Warframe a try, but the only thing that puts me off is the sheer amount of "visual noise" that it gives off. Just watching this video almost is enough to give me a headache. Love the interesting art style and direction the game went, and love the new series! Keep it up Mitch!
There are options for turning down the particle effects, weapon trails, Damage numbers and post processing. Even with it toned down it's a hard game to watch though.
Great video! I'm L4 (I own everything) with ... Many thousands of hours in-game, and F2P (Aside from a single skin I bought a few years ago that I no longer use) and this very accurately portrays the game :)
My heart couldn't handle this video. I'm not used to seeing developers that actually support each other. It’s made me want to share my experience in the Video Game Development Industry. I’ve been a victim of abuse as well as similar treatment. I’ve partaken in small indie game projects. This one developer who won’t be named was responsible for time crunching me very hard.. 60-80 hours of nonstop development. He fired several women for the simple fact that they didn’t turn him on. He had persuaded a few new workers who also happened to be women into trusting him. One was allegedly assaulted upon meeting him. I ignored his attempts while trying to turn a blind eye to everything out of shock. He withheld my monthly payments as apparently I wasn’t performing well enough. I thought he meant in video game development but it turns out he was referring to the way I talk as well as the way I talk to him. He made changes on April Fools’ Day wanting us all to address him as “Master” & “Daddy” I ignored this thinking it was just an April fools joke. After that day. Everyone also thought it was just a joke. I had some of my team members tell me that they felt disturbed. It got worse for me as I was going through a money crisis. I trusted him. I met him in person as he made advancements on me. I’m so upset after reading the article because it reminds me of how many victims shy away from speaking out. I haven’t left this team because I feel passionate about the project. He became a changed man after successfully getting into a relationship with one of the new workers on the team. She refuses to talk about the two of them as we are all left in the dark. What sickens me is the fact that most people believe he is changed man…
I was worried about the title, decided to give it a watch anyhow and i must say you've given it a very fair review. No I'm not biased at all shut up XD
I been playing since 2014 and yet i still dont understand how the game never got a award for continued community support. Oh well we tenno will stay around with how many good updates are coming for free.
Okay, i will be waiting for a full series of mmo exposed ! Loved the format ! Gave him this nostalgia kick to go back to my ship and drop into the void
The immesurable amount of grind this game requires of new players is what puts me off. I've picked it up several times, got few maxed out frames and at that time covid hadn't even hit, and warframe had tons of content already. Played through the story but when I got into building the frame I wanted I quickly realized it is a near impossible task. It is just absurdly a lot to catch up to and unlock.
enjoy the grind, separate your farming between sessions, that's what the game is about, once you have everything you want and need, there's little reason to keep up until the next thing comes up, there's a reason "The endgame is a meme" has an asterisk, it is satisfying to decimate everything with anything, yes, does it get old fast, yes
As a new player during the pandemic I agree whole-heartedly. I dropped the game like a rock after a few dozen hours because I felt so lost. There's so many features with virtually no tutorials (like using mods or trading). New players shouldn't have to rely on the rest of the community just to realize that they don't have to pay money out of pocket for frames or weapons (which I unfortunately did, though it was using a gift card so it ultimately wasn't even my own money used). There's just so many things in the game that aren't explained very well to new players that it feels like it can be a damper on the potential enjoyment. I didn't even know until a few days ago after Warframe stuff popped into my recommended, that you could sell stuff through trading and get Platinum from doing that.
Warframe does a really good job of pushing the p2w off till later but eventually progression gets locked to rivens which is just insane stacked rng so endgame is pretty much trading premium currency, (with tradechat system from 2006), so yeah there’s no real endgame and it does kinda become p2w for the best mods, still a cool games in the early parts tho. Also definitely not an mmo, more like an online co-op game
P2W for "the best mods" but you don't compete with anyone. You don't even need these mods to begin with. It is only for your desire, so that you can see and wield the weapon that does these numbers (which is like what, 10-20% on top of already a million or somthing?). But other than that - there are abilities/weapon_combinations that existed for so much time that can achieve milions that it is really like, who cares about having another combination that does exactly the same result, but achieves it through slightly different mechanic LOL. Or through stacking 16 different statuses/buffs, instead of 19 (wow such optimization XD) And absolutely agree with "tradechat from 2006". The need of creating website that outsources what devs should have added to the game 10 years ago is just blatant ignorance by playerbase.
Truthfully im kinda mad. People talk about how so many games just hold your hand nowadays but when they play Warframe they get mad that it doesn't explain things in huge detail
great video, had some good laughs. the story, while good, really needs to start answering more questions than it asks. and it really needs to retcon or plotpoint away the whole eternalism thing, because as it stands right now, there are no stakes to the story and choices do not matter. the choices that lead to different realities are accessible to the orokin and there is no reason to think we tenno could not easily access it too. so lets say at some point our lotus dies, we can simply access a reality where she did not and take her back to our reality. or in our reality the universe is about to end, we can just take any people we care about and move on to one where everything is better. warframe's story has no stakes, choices do not matter and there are no risks, and stories with none of that are horribly bland and boring because nothing that happens matters, so why tell it or go through it? warframe has written itself into a situation where the creators of the game could just tell the players to come up with their own story, and it would be just as canon as anything else.
Your content is always so top notch. Warframe took my soul several years ago and a few thousands ingame hours later it is one of my three favourites games of all time. Your video is so on point with what Warframe is and it was, as always, a real pleasure to watch :)

I'm shocked! Shocked, i say!
@@alaric_ they never were
Worth mentioning about the endgame: with the recent Dante Unbound mainline update, there was supposed to come out a new weekly endgame activity (though it has been delayed until next week's hotfix).
Oh no way, that sounds sick. Will be checking that out for sure. Cheers for the comment.
Honestly happy that they're going for this. I was also hoping for an Operator/Drifter raid with gameplay like from Duviri.
@@b.w.s3165 I don't think any of that is true except the notion of power creep
@@b.w.s3165 Warframe is literally a power fantasy game, nothing about it meant to be hard or diffucult if you just use a halfway decent build. 100% of the content in this game can be cleared with a very average build with little to no thought on minmaxxing if you just know what you're doing, and if you're doing "endgame" content like Archons and Netracells, you 100% know what kind of build you need to breeze through said content.
Of course people are happy for a new endgame game mode that rewards even more of the single best loot in the entire game (Archon Shards) The increased challange is just a bonus for most people, and if you don't like being limited in what you can bring on said mission, you can just not choose that modifier, even with half the modifiers active you can still get the Archon Shards, you will just be missing out on a random decent arcane that most people don't really even care about.
the monetization in the game could be described as "Pay 2 not play"
its one of the best monetization schemes i have ever seen in an MMO and its mostly the reason i keep coming back to the game
That's a really good way to put it
I'd rather put as "Pay 2 not wait" + "Pay 2 fashion"

The power fantasy of warframe is just so fun
Yeah, the fact that Warframe not only talks about being superhuman bullshit murder machine but allows you to experience it properly is the best part. Traveling at Mach 3 over the map murdering everything in your path is a very different experience to most other games. The closest was probably Jedi Academy multiplayer with people who could use Force Speed effectively - which, for the record, was complete bullshit, as unlike in singleplayer it didn't give you bullet time and you needed steer your character at 2-3 times the normal speed while trying to sword everyone around you.

(they still nailed their pvp and such, but to keep expenses low they didn't keep a huge pve dev crew)
I don't want that to happen to warframe, and i don't want them to sink money into a pvp team if they don't really want to either.
(runescape 3, destiny 2, guildwars, ill even add wow)
and finally i want to give my props to the devs of warframe about their monitization plan and how... good.. of a take it has been, recently they made a mistake with their goals and pissed off a very large portion of the community and what did they do? within 24h they listened to their players and made changes to their idea and compinsated players who didnt mind spending that money. Another comment described warframes "P2W" perfectly as either to "pay to play sooner" or "pay to skip (the grind)" and i believe that is the perfect way to do P2W. i "had" 3 warframe accounts (prior to crossplay and the merging) and 1 of them i payed, 2 of them where entirely free to play... and the "better" of the f2p accounts was at the exact same stage and progression of the p2w account because of how well designed the grinding and the core gameplay of warframe is.
the only "real" downfall of the game imo is the fact that it is a grinding game and because of that not for every player. any new players reading this or watching this dont give up hope when you get lost, watch guides and ask the players for help, warframe has the ABSOLUTE BEST community player base of any MMO and i will die on that hill. tennos help each other out and lift each other up
(sorry for the book i wanted to add my opinions as well for other players new and old)
I sank a fair bit of cash & time into Warframe, and genuinely enjoyed it.
@@VertietRyperitzal can still go invi and shoot without breaking so that one is useful too. The best one for riven challenges IMO.
Definitely was a great way to end this one 👨🎤
great now I got to carve out time for another game thanks a lot Mitch! 😏🍻
Good video. Ive played this game on & off for years.
Edit: that outro was epic. Even octavia was proud.
Great analysis, man. I like how you well highlighted the strengths of the game, as well as those that can and should be improved. And, the final track is my applause 👏👏👏
That Craig David joke really hit the mark with me. Nicely done Mitch.
That Scott Pilgrim Bass Battle style outro was the best
You did an amazing job with this video, it supersedes all prior videos that have striven to do the same. It's also the most fair. Cheers, thanks for making it!
Cheers for saying that mate
OK, you had me with the intro.. epic.. I stayed for the amazing content! ty!
Bro, that man in the wall joke got me off guard. 10/10 for a good laught 😂
@@DumbArsehaven’t they gone back to touch up railjack a couple times? Idk haven’t played it a while but I liked it
@@DaemonSharkSpiritOfFirewhich fair enough, but also, how many hours of gameplay do you get before you end up unlocking everything? A lot. It’s a lot.
About end game
I ran across a comment that I feel might actually be the end game:
Adopting a new player and guiding them through the early game.
Rinse and repeat, like most of warframe.
This game has "endgame"? XD
We need a full release of the Guitar/Remix at the end. Pleaseeeeee!
I need this game to have a good new player experience, cuz I wanna recommend it but unless they have the right brainworms it won't click for most I'm afraid.
Great vid!
Just started watching your videos. You have absolutely won me over.
I'm liking the long form format 👍
I agree with this really. And I just really enjoy DE and how they connect with the community, the streams are always pretty fun and relatively engaging and transparent. It’s genuinely one of those games where you need to get through the struggling start to see its true beauty
warframe is the ultimate sticky wall, where the developers just THROW at it
That warframe intro gave me mild goosebumps, good job!
You remain such a huge inspiration to me, incredible Job, Mitch. This is phenomenal...so when are you doing Everquest?
Appreciate that mate. Lol still have PTSD of that forest...
@@MitchManix I'm going to ship you a Bluetooth speaker that plays the sounds on repeat.
@@RedbeardflynnI also suggest the old school Skeleton cackle. 😀
@@brianmurphy6480 I'll put it in the track along with the ding sound but elevate the sounds on both so they come in like jump scares.
11:45
There is a quest later on K-Drives for a warframe that tells you all the trick and combos you can do with it; It is straight up Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
I love how shitty youtube is, "oh no you can't leave critical comments"
Really good video and also the longer format fits very well. :)
Even wholly alone, your calling Vor "cauliflower-looking" would be worth the thumbs-up.
Nice, can't wait for this series! Thanks Mitch! And by the way, I was like #160... *you're welcome.*
I'm just a couple hundred hours off from being at 3K hours, and I still feel like a noob sometimes
I love this channel. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Its like watching people play MMOS it only looks like that until you know whats going on
This was really good, i hope to see more of these.
I'm 15min in and this is fucking brillant as usual
What sickens me is the fact that most people believe he is changed man…
withholding payment is illegal here and a horde of red flags.
I was worried about the title, decided to give it a watch anyhow and i must say you've given it a very fair review. No I'm not biased at all shut up XD
The worst feeling is coming back after a few years and having like 5 new factions to grind, not the biggest fan of rep grind... Looking at YOU Fortuna
glad they adjusted the required resources so it doesn't hurt compared to the grind before.
I love that the royalty free song that Charlie [Slimecicle] used for [Jort Storm] is getting more use.
that intro was sick!!!
Not gonna lie that outro was kickass
I been playing since 2014 and yet i still dont understand how the game never got a award for continued community support. Oh well we tenno will stay around with how many good updates are coming for free.
Okay, i will be waiting for a full series of mmo exposed ! Loved the format ! Gave him this nostalgia kick to go back to my ship and drop into the void
Might give this a fresh look in again
great video, couldnt even try to skip, you grabbed my attention perfectly
Thank you, probably one of the best review's I've seen. Also endgame is fashionframe.... and it's always getting better.
Absolute banger of a video!
My favorite end game activity is basically going back to low level missions and adopt a new player.
I didn't even know until a few days ago after Warframe stuff popped into my recommended, that you could sell stuff through trading and get Platinum from doing that.
never had an issue with that
just keep playing
@@TornaitSuperBirdI had the same problem when I first started but eventually I just kept playing and it sort of just clicked.
journey before destination my friend
2:53 "strange, cursed, mechanical, cauliflower looking leader". LMAO, he roasted Captain Vor so hard 😂😂😂
The best thing about warframe is... Host migration.
19:50 that joke was unexpectedly hilarious xD
Or through stacking 16 different statuses/buffs, instead of 19 (wow such optimization XD)
And absolutely agree with "tradechat from 2006". The need of creating website that outsources what devs should have added to the game 10 years ago is just blatant ignorance by playerbase.
Truthfully im kinda mad. People talk about how so many games just hold your hand nowadays but when they play Warframe they get mad that it doesn't explain things in huge detail
You didn't even mention the endgame (fashionframe)
Bro just dropped the hardest Warframe edit I've ever seen in just the first 2 minutes.
great video, had some good laughs.
the story, while good, really needs to start answering more questions than it asks. and it really needs to retcon or plotpoint away the whole eternalism thing, because as it stands right now, there are no stakes to the story and choices do not matter.
the choices that lead to different realities are accessible to the orokin and there is no reason to think we tenno could not easily access it too. so lets say at some point our lotus dies, we can simply access a reality where she did not and take her back to our reality. or in our reality the universe is about to end, we can just take any people we care about and move on to one where everything is better. warframe's story has no stakes, choices do not matter and there are no risks, and stories with none of that are horribly bland and boring because nothing that happens matters, so why tell it or go through it?
warframe has written itself into a situation where the creators of the game could just tell the players to come up with their own story, and it would be just as canon as anything else.
Somehow this video is probably one of the best video to watch if people ask "Should i play Warframe or not?" ...
Your content is always so top notch. Warframe took my soul several years ago and a few thousands ingame hours later it is one of my three favourites games of all time. Your video is so on point with what Warframe is and it was, as always, a real pleasure to watch :)
very well done i´m glad i found your Channel keep up the good work
i don't know if i can call a 4 player co-op an mmo, i wouldn't call deep rock galactic or helldivers MMO either if they got hub zones
Boarderlands 2 best mmo😂
Deep rock isn't connected like warframe, at all times no matter what, all warframe players are connected
@@chronodis so always-online 4 player co-op games are MMOs? if DRG could not be played offline it'd be an MMO?
so Inkbound the 4p roguelite is an MMO? it has an online mode with a hub that connects all players.
.....I feel like every one of your videos needs to end with an epic guitar solo/bit like that. It was perfect.
As for the video, you've raised from interest. Perhaps I'll give the game a look.
