God I love Orange. Every single time I look at an Orange, play an Orange, or watch a video on an Orange, from Orange, it gives me the same feeling I get on Christmas morning. Nothing but pure joy.
I can’t tell you how much I love Orange Amps and that beautiful Orange sound. There is absolutely nothing better than the sound of an American made guitar playing through a British made Orange amp.
I played Orange in the 70,s till now I,ve never found a amp to even come close to there tones Great job and new amp, will be adding one to my collection thanks!
Wow, you continue innovating amazingly the amp world, is great to see you Ade, you aged as good wines and wise amp rocker wizard, so cool that you share all that technical information and education introducing the products that you develop, there nothing like this in the amp industry, keep the Orange rocking the world!
Ade is such an amp guru and legend - I love listening to him talk about products he built. I used to have a Rockerverb 100 for almost a decade. I just didn't like how mid saturated it was in the end, but man did it have some sick tones. I guess I ended up with something a little more versatile in the tone ranges, but that spongey Orange sound is something I'd love to have if I had the extra cash for one. The cabs are like tanks!
This sounds killer. I've been playing Rockerverbs MKI 50 heads - yeah, with the 4x6V6 tubes - for many years. Just awesome and versatile amps. Once a Orange and you don't look back.
@@LeeGee I don't know since I have not played the OR30. I am used to the RV, the 6V6 sound and it's 4 gainstages. It is more versatile than the OR30, I guess. On the other hand I do like the sound and the simplicity of the OR30.
I am very happy with my Orange super crush 100, it surpassed my expectations by a million light years and I'm using it with my pod go and it just gets ridiculously good tones and low volume tones. I have a Marshall Super lead 100 preset and it sounds exactly like this but a little bit more low end if I make it lower
As I was able to find almost by myself this video, following the page on the Orange website, and also because I already have an OR15 that I love, I think I deserve the big brother 30w so he can look after his sibling. And together rock.

Yep, a Marshall 100w super lead sounded awful next to my AD1510(on full) the "popstar" wanted to buy it from me, I lent it to him and it disapeared for a year(EMI) then I got it back . It must have grated him cos he took a valve out thinking it would sabotage my efforts but no it still chugged along. I think the "Tone controls " are really volume controls. I may have to take a peek at the circuit again.
My biggest regret with gear is selling a Rocker 30 about two years ago… 30 watt orange amps are great middle ground between lunchbox and big heads …..awesome
This looks awesome. Actually a lot of my favourite parts of different amps all together in one! There was a JCM 900 that had a switchable master volume, always thought that was a good idea.
Since I'm the first comment and found this video before the amp was even announced, I feel it is only fair that I win a prize, of which should be an OR30.
Amazing work Ade!! Your comment about how to switch on and off the amp has got my thinking Im doing it all wrong. I have a single channel AD30 and was wondering what is the best way to switch that one on and off? I have alway powered it on in standby mode..left it a couple of minutes and then switched the standby to play. Powering it off I would switch it back to standby and leave it a minute before switching the power off. Is this the correct way or am I hammering my valves? Id appreciate the info as there is very little out there on my amp...seems like there are not many about...
Good god this thing is sick. Currently using a Brent hinds terror or a crush pro 120, but both lack a bit in a live setting. This is what I’ve needed 🤘🏼🍊
Does the OR30 cover the sonic territory of the AD30 HTC, for example when literally maxing all of the controls to get a nice, big sound? Or is it more of its own design?

Open loop means no negative feedback, most presence controls work in the feedback loop, so an alternative is a tone cut across the phase inverter (cross-line)
the guy demoing the amp looks like one of the guitar players from Suns Of The Tundra. Don’t think it’s him, just a funny coincidence, but what a good band.
That is the opposite of what I have always heard, RE: powering on. Wouldn't powering it on NOT in standby shock the rectifier tubes? I though the standby switch limited the power to the tubes and the rest of the circuit?
The tube rectifier takes time to start working so the power up is a soft start, no need to be in Standby. Switching from Standby to On can cause a larger initial current draw (Reservoir caps charge) and harm the rectifier (depends on the circuit though). Probably would have been better to not have a standby switch at all tbh, but guitarists seem to like them ;-)
@@TheSizzlingBadger thanks for the explanation. In my brain the initial hit from power in would be worse (in a straight circuit) but I forgot about the other stuff in the path like capacitors.
