- As much as we have come to love Java, Indonesia, sometimes the traffic can be overwhelming.
As we try to reach one of Indonesia’s most renowned sights - Mount Bromo - we inevitably have to spend long days on the road to get there. But driving on Java can be hard, and riding a motorcycle can be even more dangerous.
On our way, we not only witnessed several accidents, but then we almost crashed several times, one of which was when a bus nearly hit us! It was a day of near-disasters, but will the destination of the volcanic landscape of Bromo make this treacherous journey worth it?

You have to give way or pull over when facing large vehicles, especially buses, because buses don't want to give way. Always be careful wherever you are.

The real "Disneyland" rides are the roads on the island of Java, very tense and much more dangerous but very fun with several different driver characters on the northern, central and southern sides of the Java island. I hope both of you are always given health and safety and need more patience to conquer the beautiful roads of Indonesia...have a good adventure, friends.
East Java, you must try black meat soup called Rawon, the taste is amazing! When you eat Sate with rice cake called lontong, the famous sate in Indonesia from Madura near north East Java.
After Bromo dont missed go to Tumpak Sewu waterfall.
Indonesian hospitality is unbelievable, and so does the traffic brutality too, people say if you can ride/drive here then you can ride/drive everywhere. so stay safe, we wish you the greatest luck.

I quite often ride through Pantura route with my bike and I can confirm that Indonesian ride and drive like they want to kill you. Because of that I usually go out really really early to beat the traffic. Stay safe guys...

You take route from purwodadi to south, which mean you are in a crazy traffic. Especially the Bus. But after you go to east, it should be a little bit better. But Java has the most population of Indonesia, so it is what it is. Just be more patient, hope you all safe healthy and happy. Thanks for visiting Indonesia ❤❤

Traffic of bus and truck in the main road is crazy, you have to be really-really careful there. Bright or reflective helmet or jacket will help to be notice from afar, especially during the night.
Despite that, the experience traveling with motorcycle and go to new places, met new people, having new adventures are worth every minute of it.
You will enjoy bromo, dorko maybe not so much. It's an amazing place
Purwodadi is beside my city, PATI. And take care with big vehicle in java, we hape is everything to be allright
small tips with motorcycle : do a ride at really early morning hours which is no bus at all and less crazy drivers, rest at midday. continue to ride as fast as you can before night, which is so many trucks and busses even containers on road at night and repeat.

If you want to overtake the vehicle in front, turn on your motorbike's warning lights first and don't forget to sound the horn... If the vehicle in front of you turns on the same rating light as your rating light, it means there is a vehicle in front There is a vehicle coming from the opposite direction... If the vehicle in front of you turns on the left turn signal, it means there is no vehicle coming from the opposite direction, meaning you can overtake them....

Java is heavy traffic road with small width, so you need to relax and not to forcefully ride through the road in the city. just take it easy and patiently get throught the busy road. If yo want clear road then you need to ride in the morning since 9 am up the road is busy and in the weekend like saturday and sunday is where road is heavily compact. It is very slow moving. Just to let you know. Choose early in the morning for better road traffic. Well safe ride. We'll be follow your journey.

Yep, be very careful and mindful, Indo traffic can be so chaotic, full of careless drivers. Esp in highways when many kinds of vehicles are competing for spaces, from tiny motorcycle to 6 wheeled double decker.

Poor Dorco needs a full maintenance visit to a shop, he's old and tired but willing to keep going.
Just like you need regular care and maintenance so does he.
Spare bolts and nuts of the common sizes used should be in your tool kit.
Do you have a tool kit? Blue LocTite is also a necessity in your kit.
I didn't hear if he said your chain and sprockets are good or not but they wear quickly.
One huge advantage of riding a bike made in China is that they use very common size things like bearings, spokes, brake pads/shoes, bolts, and engine internal parts. Spare parts are much easier to get locally and mechanics are used to working on them.
Just imagine if you were riding your KTM and needed some work done. Spokes? Need to order those from USA or Germany.
Scary riding but being in a hurry adds to it. We are very glad you survived to make the video!
Hmm, what will break next? I will go with the clutch plates. They have been under extreme stress with the weight, the steep hills, and now volcanic ash? Or possibly the chain, but I think clutch plates is number one. Then there is the key issue you had in this episode so maybe the key switch is getting worn out from the vibration... Ah, well, it is all fixable there.

Ride Safely my brother.. Beware for buses in east java specially, they are death angels...from backward and front of you... I lost my brother in law on an traffic accident in east jawa, #bojonegoro
I know that it does appear to be no rules on the roads and frustrating when fellow road travellers demand passage when technically you have the right of way...but its best to go with the flow and apply 'first come first served' rule on the road here in Indonesia.
Still...dont violate the obvious rules i.e going thru red light, going the wrong way, no lights, not having license n registration...or you'll get a ticket from the police
Avoid being too close to the intercity buses....because they're big, they think they own the road and deserve priority.
Be careful out there!....Stay safe and healthy!

It's like a mandatory for first-time riders to _savour_ Bromo's sand once or twice. You could take a fall. You could get your rear wheel stuck in the sand. You could end up with a bit of sand in your mouth-i'm not talking abt myself here no, no, no swear to God no.
But it's all worth it!

please dont ride behind the bus or in front of the bus.. better give some distance, and really careful when taking over the bus guys.. we are worried tho..

20:32 Well, I for one, always prefer a night ride for that same reason. People would then tell me that it was dangerous to ride in the dark. We Indonesians are super superstitious. To which I respond with, "The ghosts are chilled. It's the other bikers and drivers that I can't stand. They are out for a kill the way they behave on the roads." As a conparison, I'd eat up 200km journey in under 4 hours when it's night time. Meanwhile, I need at least 8 hours to travel a distance as short as 110km during the day. Crazy, I know.
