- Embark on a captivating journey with me as we explore the lively streets of Jakarta, Indonesia's bustling capital city. Join me as I share my first impressions of this vibrant metropolis, where the sunny streets pulse with energy and life.
In this immersive video, we'll traverse through the heart of Jakarta, starting with a quick visit to the iconic National Monument in Merdeka Square. Towering proudly against the skyline, this monument stands as a symbol of Indonesia's independence and resilience.
Venturing further, we explored the vibrant Pasar Baru Market, where the sights, sounds, and smells of local culture enveloped me in a sensory feast. Although I may have arrived at quiet time becuase of the mid-day heat it was still a lovely little stroll.
And who could forget the exhilarating tuk-tuk ride? Despite the sweltering heat reminiscent of a sauna, the journey was filled with excitement as we weaved through the bustling streets, soaking in the sights and sounds of the city. I eventually made it back to the hotel after the 1 hour journey and was able to recharge myself in the hotel swimming pool
Next, prepare to be awed as we step inside the magnificent Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. My trip inside was nothing short of amazing, as I marveled at its grandeur and soaked in the tranquility of this sacred space. Although the tour guide did not want to be on camera, he still was quite informative and very pleasant
Along the bustling streets, I stumbled upon a cool little coconut street food stall, where I couldn't resist indulging in the refreshing taste of freshly cracked coconuts. It was a delightful treat amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. I couldn't resist to give the guy a little tip for his hard work
Finally, we concluded our adventure at the Skye Bar, a rooftop oasis offering panoramic views of Jakarta's skyline. Unfortunately the bar section of the restaurant was closed for a private event. So I could only order food from the restaurant side. The food was quite and as I sipped on my refereshing piña colada drink, I reflected on the beauty and diversity of this dynamic city, leaving me with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

When you walk from Monas to Pasar Baru, you have passed one of the legendary ice cream shops is called RAGUSA (It has existed since the Dutch colonial era). And the statue you have seen from Skybar, local people call it the welcome statue (Patung Selamat Datang) which symbolized "Welcome To Jakarta". 😊

As a Muslim in Indonesia, you usually perform prayers every morning at 04:48, then pray again at noon at 12:25, then pray again in the afternoon at 13:25, then pray again in the evening at 18:20, and pray again at night at 19:40. In total, we pray 5 times a day and it is always done. By the way, the people who sleep in the mosque are only resting, not worshiping.
