WOW Tracie, Thank you for this video. I never knew about the spray paint grip with that big handle. I am going to buy one. No more sore fingers. Your table and chairs are beautiful. Thank you very much.
wow! those look fantastic! I need to paint a plastic storage bin that we are upcycling to use as a wood bin at our camp.. Thanks for the tips! I never would have thought to buy that trigger gadget that you used :)
I'm definitely trying this on my set of plastic ones from Lowe's. They are a light gray, but I've been wanting to paint them black. Spring Project for sure, after seeing your video. Thanks
This was super simple and super helpful thank you so much. I found a tiny white Adirondack chair that someone was throwing away and outside the fact that it's just really filthy and stained it just needs to be cleaned off and given a Fresh coat of paint.
Thanks! I have a chair that used to be white and is now yellowish... Ew! Already had purchased the matte white spray but didn't know about using clear coat or the handy spray attachment so I used your links and purchasex both!
Blue is my fdavorite color. I have two brown Adirondack chairs (same as your) and I was going to paint them in gray but after seeing the midnight blue, I decided that I will be painting them in the same color. Thank you so much for sharing! ☺️❤️👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks for the video! We just ordered a couple of chairs and stools. You’ve convinced us to spray them instead of brushing them. Hope they turn out as nice as your set!
Great result Tracie. Just wondering what prep you did for the chair's pre-paint?? Thanks for posting this! I learned a lot by watching........... plan to do it soon to my 2 chairs, because they went from a rich brown, to a faded beige within a few years. Yuck.
I just spray painted my chairs 🪑. Two are red and one is navy blue. Maybe I need a couple coats. And the spray paint was cheap. So I will try again. And I’m will see if there is a primer perhaps
Nice! I’ve been wanting to paint our faded chairs as well but wasn’t sure how well it would work. Yours turned out great! I curious how they weathered for you. TFS! I subscribed!
Have you ever done black to navy or the midnight blue? I have some black chairs and flower pots that I want to spay navy or this midnight blue. I’m just wondering if it’s been done before and how it turned out.
Wow - Great Job! With all this time at home, I am working on cleaning and painting stuff in our backyard. I also never painted plastic chairs and I am about too. How long did you wait between painting the top and the bottom? Also what clear coat did you use? Did you also do the clear coat on the bottom? Thank you so much for your help. I hope my chairs come out as good as yours. I have 8 chairs to do - I am sure I will need a lot of paint.
Great job and great video, answered all my questions except one...did you do the underside? I need to do my lounge chairs and the underside will be seen at times. Thank you! 👍
Thank you for posting this! I painted mine after seeing your video. If you don’t mind where did you buy the footstools ive been looking everywhere for similar ones
Hi! I’m so sorry, but it’s been about 6 yrs since purchasing them and I can’t remember exactly. For some reason I’m thinking it was either Walmart, Meijer, Home Depot or Old Time Pottery... 🤔👍🏽
ALTERNATE TO SPRAY PAINTING: The residue is oxidation of the plastic. If you apply high heat, the oxidized plastic will melt back to what it was before - hard and shiny (after all, melting is what made these chairs). So you just get a small handlheld blow torch, and just blast the flame over the surface as if you were painting. You will see INSTANT results. There is a youtube of a guy doing it - search "(Restoring) Plastic Chairs With Fire!"
I've got a plastic purple chair and I wanna repaint it to make it black , and I'm worrying if they will make a black residue after a period of time , is yours did that residue or not ?
She used 5 cans of paint (plus clear coat). In the video, she suggested that anyone who wants to try this should probably purchase 6 cans, so you have an extra on hand just in case (or just to have around for touch ups).
good job, but next time dont use it all or leave it press the whole time, go side by side or up and down but press and let go that is how you paint,.. enjoy
Hi can we get a follow up on the chairs? I curious to know how did they weathered, did the paint chip off, did the color fade off?
Exactly the guidance I was looking for to paint my chairs. Your a doll! Thank you!
WOW Tracie, Thank you for this video. I never knew about the spray paint grip with that big handle. I am going to buy one. No more sore fingers. Your table and chairs are beautiful. Thank you very much.
Hi! You’re welcome, so glad I could help 🤗✨
Very helpful coming from an amateur like myself. I can't wait to try this version. Thank you so much.
Outstanding.......thanks for making this for the rest of us
Nice job. Thank you for the inspiration . I need to paint my chairs now
You can do it!
Beautiful, Tracie. Thank you

Thank you so much 😊
Came out great!!!
Thank you so much! 🤗
I like the color. Good job!
Great job! I want to do the same thing with the same chairs--oh, and I want that color too!!!
They look really good. So no matter how hot it gets the paint don’t rub off on you no matter how hot it gets. I live in North GA
Thank you! No, we haven’t had any paint issues coming off from heat onto anyone 👍🏽
I'm definitely trying this on my set of plastic ones from Lowe's. They are a light gray, but I've been wanting to paint them black. Spring Project for sure, after seeing your video. Thanks
Awesome! You’re welcome 👍🏽
great job, they look brand new.
Thank you so much!
Thank you, Tracie. Your comments on cans purchased was super helpful. Chairs look great - and all for only ~$20!
How do they look now?
Great video, much appreciated!!! Thank you
Thank you and you’re welcome ☺️
Such a helpful video, thank you for sharing! ☺️ I’m wondering how the paint has been holding up since you did these?
I hope she answers
Can we have an update on chairs please ? 🙏👍🏼🇬🇧
Update 3 years??? No answer
Beautiful color

Very good! I've spray painted outdoor chairs before, but never used the clear coat🤔. Now I know.🤭👍🏽
Thank you!!! 🤗✨❤️

Can I use this product on plastic patio chairs? Thank you!
These that I have are plastic, so yes. But certain slick type plastics no. Just have to test and see.
Dont know if you would know but will this work on new adirondack chairs? Just bought some from lowes but they dont match my other outdoor furniture
Curious does the paint come off when scratching it gently with your nails or the bottom of a beer bottle? Thanks for the idea ! How do they look now ?
That's what I wanna know
Seems she doesnt want to tell us been reading other comments but no answer to the question
Nice🤩
Thank you!!!
Very nice
Thank you very much. You saved me money. Where did you purchase the footstools? I have never seen those.
May have been Walmart or Home Depot about 7 years ago 👍🏽
Awesome!! What prep did you do to the chairs before painting?
Just wiped down with a damp cloth, wiped dry and then stated with the spray paint! 👍🏽
awesome
Thank you!
👍🏽💕Getting it done!!👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you! Yes- it’s coming along!!! 🙌🏽
Awesome video
This was super helpful, thank you. I am about to do this myself .
Awesome! I hope they turn out well for you 🤗🙌🏽✨
Thank you!
Thanks!!
You’re welcome ☺️
How long did the paint last before they needed a touch up?
2 years I believe then light touch ups 👍🏽
Great job and great video, answered all my questions except one...did you do the underside? I need to do my lounge chairs and the underside will be seen at times. Thank you! 👍
Hi! Yes, I did spray the underside as well 👍🏽
@@traciesplace thank you for your quick reply, you have inspired me to do my plastic loungers. :D
Did you prep them before painting like sanding or washing them.?
I washed them I do believe ✨
Thanks!
You’re welcome ☺️
Hey , thanks for this video but one spray can paint how many chairs 1 spray = ?? Chairs ? Please let me know it's urgent
Thanks in advance ☺️🙏🏻
Hello! It took about 5 - 6 cans of spray for 2 chairs and 2 ottomans (fool stools) plus about 2-3 cans for sealant spray
Thank you for posting this! I painted mine after seeing your video. If you don’t mind where did you buy the footstools ive been looking everywhere for similar ones

I've got a plastic purple chair and I wanna repaint it to make it black , and I'm worrying if they will make a black residue after a period of time , is yours did that residue or not ?
Hello, No there is no residue because I sprayed a clear sealant on them after the navy blue paint color I used. 👍🏽
@@traciesplace ok so after the paint I have to put varnish , right ?
Thanks so much! Those are resin chairs, correct? Not wood?
Yes, resin 🙌🏽
How are the painted chairs holding up? I want to paint a few chairs, but I was told that the paint may flake over time.
Mine are holding up well! 🤗
How many spray bottle did you used to complete the two chairs.
Hi! If I’m remembering correctly 5-6 cans 👍🏽✨
I WAS JUST WONDERING.. HOW DID THE PAINT HOLD UP SINCE ITS BEEN ABOUT A YEAR? DID THE PAINT TRANSFER ON CLOTHING??
Hi! Paint is still holding up and we covered them up over the winter ❄️ and no clothes bleed because I used that sealer 👍🏽
@@traciesplace thanks for sharing
Hi great job!!! How long did/do they last?
Hi! Mines are still good! 🤗
@@traciesplace Thanks for the update!!!
What about chair prep?
Did you have to do any sanding before spray praying ?
No I didn’t
Where are you getting your spray cans for that price?? Great video.
Home Depot, thanks!
Did you start with plastic chairs or wood?
Plastic chairs 👍🏽
Do they have a sticky feeling even after they dry?
Hi! No, they do not have a sticky feel after drying 👍🏽
Tracie's Place cool thank you so much! gonna make this my little weekend project
Those are the vinyl chairs?
Yes, plastic/vinyl chairs 👍🏽
They look great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need you to help me with mine!!!!!
Thank you Sis! Awesome! 🤗✨🍃
my concern: is it sticky to the touch with the new paint? does it stain your clothes when you sit in them? thanks
Hi! No- not sticky to the touch and has not stained any of our clothes 🙌🏽
@@traciesplace fantastic. Good video thanks
Will this work on wooden chairs?
It should but because I haven’t done it I can’t promise 👍🏽✨
Did you use the matte clear OR semi-gloss clear spray can
Hi Pamela Semi Gloss!
Is this painted on a wooden or plastic Adirondack chair
It’s plastic 👍🏽
I'm assuming you painted underneath as well accounting for those cans
Yes! 👍🏽
Are the chairs wooden or plastic - I just can't see. Does it matter?
Hi, they are plastic. Wood should be able to be painted also...
How many cans did you use?

Hey name twin! Thank you!!! 🤗
@@traciesplace Hey Twin!
💺 You do not have to pay big bucks to get that expensive look nice job sis
Thank you!!! 🤗✨🍃
Are these plastic?
Hello Renee, yes they are 😊
Thank you!
Always spray in one direction never back and forth.
Thank you Scott! 🙌🏽
Why would you show them on the dark???
? I don’t understand your question…
Next time, put cardboard or old sheets down to protect your lawn from the over spray.
Thank you! 👍🏽✨
good job, but next time dont use it all or leave it press the whole time, go side by side or up and down but press and let go that is how you paint,.. enjoy
Her Adirondack Chairs are not real ploywood. You don’t paint them, they last a life time
No they’re not plywood- but you change the color with paint if that’s what someone chooses to do as you see here
You turn upside down & paint them you turn upright & paint this looks like a quality paint job.
Thank you! 🙌🏽
Paint is not $5:00 dollars paint now is $6:95 a canso do the Math.5 times _6:95 is not $20:00.Make sure your info is correct.
THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO!!! What are YOU talking about??? Check video dates and get your facts STRAIGHT!!! 😑
how many cans did you use?
