    Turned out really well. RC nailed it with the Scout II body. 👍🏼

      Thanks man! Yeah RedCat is definitely stepping up their game, and the scale crawler market is definitely better off for it. Competition is good and it definitely pushes competing products to be better and better value!

      Yeah, I think it turned out great once you have the windows cleared out and the top painted. Thanks for the comments!

    I hope mine comes out as well as yours. I've gotten the stuff I need, non-acetone fingernail polish remover for the windows, and black pickup bed liner spray paint. Just gotta put the time in and do it now.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it was definitely worth doing. I contemplated using bed liner spray paint, but that stuff just reeks. I couldn't stand the smell so I returned it and just used Plasti-Dip instead. It doesn't give off as much of an odor once it off-gasses for a while.

    • @DFDuck55
      @DFDuck55 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do all my spray painting outdoors. More because I have an old dog I won't want to have to breath paint. I once made the mistake of spraying a jacket in the house with some waterproofing stuff. That stuff smelled so bad I had to leave the jacket outdoors for a month before I could stand to wear it or bring it back indoors.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DFDuck55 Definitely man! I do all my painting outdoors with a respirator. Some paints off-gas quickly and stop smelling, but bed-liner was pretty nasty. It hasn't stopped smelling yet (the test parts I did months ago). Health & safety is always the #1 priority!

      @RevolutionX  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comments and watching man! Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it looks now. I just need to get an interior for it now that I cleared out the windows. Those wheels are actually for another truck of mine, but I used them because I wanted to run the Hyrax tires and I was too lazy to dismount them LOL!

    Did the Tamiya cleaner have any negative effects on the body.

    You cut the whole window decal out first?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I used an exacto knife to cut out the center of the window decals.

    • @bubbadaluva191
      @bubbadaluva191 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RevolutionX you cut it out , then trimmed it for the silver window divider then put it back on correct? My decals came on truck already. I assumed you pilled it off and trimmed it. Then put it back on after paint?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bubbadaluva191 No, Actually I left the window decals on. If you use a really sharp exacto knife, you can carefully cut a line, lift the edge and peel off the center.

    • @bubbadaluva191
      @bubbadaluva191 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RevolutionX in beginning of video theirs no decals in window tho. It's all clear no decal divider

      @RevolutionX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bubbadaluva191 hmmmm maybe you're right. Lol, now that I think about it... I think I did pull them off stick them on the backing of an old decal sheet and then cut the center out. Lol man I'm getting old!

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get you. See if this helps. www.revolutionx.com/redcat-gen8-scout-ii-body-updates/ Unfortunately I didn't really get video of the actual clearing out, but with paper towels, Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner and a ton of elbow grease, you just need to apply to paper towel and start wiping away. It takes persistence and time to do.

  • @mvxyetti9262

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it didn't seem to make the body brittle at all. I actually also use it when paint bleeds through the masking tape job.
