Really hope that traxxas is watching this 😂
True that. I mean come on.. otherwise great body’s! But then Traxxas just takes a deuce on them. And Traxxass Audience is a lot of beginners who’ll never have the knowledge and courage to do this mod. Sad
Sad part is that they probably don't care. At least it seems that way.
Fastest thing I found is CA debonder , it wipes the paint straight off and doesn't harm the lexan. No fumes either
I really appreciate this I wish I would've seen it like 6mo. Ago I bought the 20q5 proline taco body was so excited to get it I started painting and forgot to mask the windows and headlights ND sense it came with the cool molded light bucktes I was so pissed so I ended up putting black vinyl over windows to tint... thanks cause now tomorrow I can reclaim my windows back!
Such a helpful video thank you
Glad I could help!
Thanks for taking my suggestion!! 😁😃
That’s can look pretty cool with some interior lighting. I can picture the red glow. Also if anyone is reading this please pray for my wife as she is pregnant and has been spotting on and off with massive blood clots. And I could also use some prayer for a job interview this Tuesday. Thank you
Hopefully your wife is okay and good luck with the interview!
I had been thinking of taking notes on your videos so it would be possible to go back and find the right ones where I needed to review a skill you showed. So making the videos where we can easily search for them is much appreciated. If you ever decide to put these together in a on-demand class format, I would be interested in paying for that.
Glad you like the naming format. Wanted to make it easier for people to find specific videos, since it's one of the most frequently asked questions I get.
Yay! I have had a hard time finding a good tutorial for this! Now 0:55
Yep, it'll "pop right up" 😄
Glad I could help!
He’s means business, The Canadian tyre gloves made an appearance! Arguably possible the second...maybe third best glove out there!
Which one is best? Inquiring minds want to know!
Yes! More of these.
Yessss.
More please! You're so skilled with custom work.
I did my K10 and it took forever.. They're still kinda foggy, so I just pretend my little driver smoked a ton of tiny cigarettes over the years.
Good video, man. Seems like a good, straightforward process.
This is a great how-to video, thanks for sharing. But if you can't all the paint off the window, you could just leave it lightly tinted and say it's a nod to the old drag racing gassers from back in the day except it's a off-roader,lol
I wish they would release this body on the trx4m so I can finally get one!! This is the best Chevy truck body!
I kinda like tge bit of red tint. It’s kinda like the old gassers having colored windows
Methoxypropanol PM is basically the same as the Tamiya/Carson stuff. Bought a 1l can on Amzn.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing!
nice, thanks, now fix that windshield wiper seeing it bent is driving me nuts :)
Great instructional video. Looking forward to seeing more. Enjoy Colorado.
Thank you!
I wish the major online hobby stores carried the tamiya polycarbonate cleaner. It can be hard/expensive to get in the US.
Great video Matt! I wanted to see the Dangerous Method! Danger is my middle name Baby!
😂
Citri-strip works well.
Awesome thanks man
You're welcome!
I remove it in my traditional 3 step process;
#1 pour petrol all over the lexan body
#2 ignite with a match
#3 build a custom hardbody and paint as desired 👌🏼
What a great how to. How does nitro fuel work compared to the Tamiya cleaner? What works better or faster?
i haven't tried Nitro fuel, but Josh swears by it!
Now thats way better, thanks mr matt
You're welcome!
Excellent video
I dig the red tint paying homage to the old school gassers and custom scene
Super vidéo comme d'habitude 👍🔝👍
Merci!
Thanks for sharing the process...💯👍👍
Glad I could help!
What video was the one that you show how to clear painted windows on lexan?
FUNNY!
I use turtle wax when buffing the paint out. Works pretty well
Right on!
Thanks for the videos matt
Thanks for watching!
Nautical Porthole Windows as used on the ships would be my best effort...
There is very fine polish / rubbing compound by Flitz that I think will work, but haven't bought any pre-painted Lex-annndd?! bodies to try it on. It is/was used to clean the haze from convertible plastic windows.
Might work, I don't know. Maybe try it on a scrap piece?
I'm not sure those dull lexan bodies are worth these efforts, yet thank you for the useful tips
Fair enough, thanks for watching!
Takk😄
U getting it ready to turn it into the ultimate badass all wheel drive drift truck?
Love your tips!!! Taking note again 😅
For a second I thought this read, I love your lips! 😂
@@scalebuildersguild 😂😂😂
Molden Window trim on a lexan body. By hand??
Cheapwst place to buy this remover is Ali Express.
On Amazon it cost me 40$ after shipping.
Instead of 7$ off Ali. Lol
Perfect timing on this one ...! Thanks .
Sweet 👋
Sucks that polycarbonate cleaner cant be shipped to the US from Tamiya due to labeling?? You can get it, but not straight from Tamiya.
I didn't know that!
Nitro fuel, quicker and easier! Save some of that elbow grease for some 'come hither' action 😳
When applying the scratch remover, would it be a good idea to use a slow drill and a ball polish tip like would be done in headlight cleaning
Maybe, watch the heat buildup though!
Anyone have any luck finding that Tamiya Body Cleaner in the USA?
Hard to get, backordered everywhere!
I've got a build that's almost finished, how can I share pics?
Are you on the forum?
Hello, sorry to bother you, I am going to buy soon a ford f150 traxxas, do you know the car window das it have sticker on like the car in the video?, I have seen other people cutting and removing totally. Thanks in advance.
They are stickers with paint underneath.
@@scalebuildersguild thank you
I cheated the system to get clear windows on my trx-4. The 2021 bronco already has them 🤣 great how to though!
Thanks for watching!
Would that scratch remover work for cleaning up some of the trail pinstripes on the exterior of a lexan body?
It absolutely would, but no gouging marks, those are there for life!
Can I speay paint over a factory body?
Sure can, if it’s a Lexan body, be sure to use paint designed for Lexan.'
@scalebuildersguild Thanks a ton Mate 😊 🙏
Yea Traxxas take that!! Lol
How does the tamiya paint remover work to do this?
I'm not sure I understand the question?
Tamiya makes one called paint remover was wonder if you have used it to clear the windows.
@@BusyBeesGrading I have not, just what I show here.
Would you recommend Method ethel keytone? Or mpk?
No, you'll melt the plastic or fog it up, I don't recommend it.
nice video as usual, does traxxas offer this body as not painted lexan one ?
Yes
Yes, but not the newer clipless version, yet. Should be available soon.
👍
d-EEEEEE-cal ... t-AAAAAAMM-ya
For the money😢 Traxxas charges for their product, one would think they'd have clear windows....and interior 😂
For 160 dollars you’d think that they would have clear windows
Are you talking about the pre-painted bodies you can buy separately? Always go for the clear and paint yourself!
Not so clear after the finished job.
Uh, what? About as clear as lexan will get.
@@scalebuildersguild
Maybe the camera or ambient light makes it look "pink-ish". But if it looks cristal clear, will be modding mine.
Matt have you ever tried a #11
Scalpel blade?
Much better than Xacto #11
IMHO if you like,
Don’t tell Josh.
I haven't tried one, but I'll take a look. Thanks for the tip!
I did the top window of my black trx6 with nitro fuel took time but worth it came out clear as new. Dont forget to try cutting cobs between the leds.
That looks like Gene Wilder from “Young Frankenstein” in the right seat 😊
Great looking body, and me wanting to make it look like a rust bucket 😂 Great info 👍
We have a metal polisher here in our country that is effective in removing that red tint. It is like a less abbrasive rubbing compound.
I think I’d sell the body, buy a new one with the money and mask up and spray from a fresh
Great tutorial Matt!!! I love all the tricks yous how us! Always good to make our trucks more realistic! Thanks for the awesome work!
Thanks for watching!
i have a crawler body tahts painted blu if i strip the blue paint wil it be tinded red or will it be other color
🙄
Oh my God the gas mask I can't stop laughing😂
For about 3 seconds, i thought this was the Steampunk builders guild...☠️
😂
Nitro fuel always does the job for me. Great video
Josh swears on Nitro fuel!
Spatchcock chicken.
You guys overseas get all the fancy stuff like DOT Brake cleaner and polycarbonate body remover 🤔
Brake fluid
always appreciate the upload buddy, that came out spectacular!. Was really hoping to see a finished product, 😂
Hey Matt. Great weekly what’s on the bench video as usual. As always enjoy your insightful knowledge and tips on this hobby. My friend has used Easy Off Oven cleaner in the past to remove orange peal problem he had once to strip off paint on his rc hard body when he had used automotive spray paint. Thanks again nonetheless 😊
Would this technique be effective: Cutting the paper towel to the exact shape you wanted to remove, carefully place it, and then soak it in the remover solution, allowing it to soak for 30-60 minutes?
I would think that it would soften up the paint fairly quickly.
I’ve tried soaking with this but not that technique. Give it a go, it might work!
Great video! I’ve been wanting to do this to my shinny new Base Camp!
🤘☕️🤘
🤘
I have found that Carson Paint Killer works absolute wonders. Just dab a little bit on and the paint lifts immediately (so be careful) without harming the polycarb in the slightest
Nice!
I'm not sure if completely clear windows are that great without interior, I like to tint mine pretty heavily. With bodies being this detailed I wish they also had interiors
I'll be adding an interior!
I've been wanting to try this for a while and have watched you do it before, but after this video I will be clearing some windows very soon! 👍Thanks!
Go for it!
Cool doing how does with you 😎 thank you for being you. 😊😅
Thank you for being you!
I love when you teach us how to do stuff!
Like the video naming format. Makes it easy to find
Thanks! It's one of my most asked questions, so I wanted to make it easy to find!
Your timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I need to fix a glitch on a custom job I did. Does this work on a body painted with Tamaiya polycarbonate paint?
Yes! Designed for it!
@@scalebuildersguild thanks! I guess I should have watch more of your demo before asking. 😂😂
No worries! Glad I could help!
Excellent how-to video. I now know why Becky keeps you around. 🙂✌
Don't ever call her Becky 😂
Should have seen him before, yelling all the time, jumping everywhere just a mess. What a rescue recovery. 👏 Thank you Rebecca we love your creation 🤣
Awesome. Thanx for sharing this. I'm getting ready to buy the Traxxas TRX-4 Black F-150 and want to have clear windows.👍💯🛻
Glad I could help!
