Candy Striper - Redline Beachbomb (Reproduction). Here at Diecast Resurrection we specialize in painting diecast model cars. In today's video I took a cool paint scheme from a very valuable Hot Wheels and tried to replicate it onto a reproduction Redline Beachbomb made by Brightvision back in the day.

Nice work. I like the paint and masking. If I had to do this I would not know to scotchbite it, then not know about this silver paint, not know about this great magenta paint and probably use some inferior masking tape. Knowing all that made this process so smooth.

I bought one of those about 3 years ago and finally built it a few weeks ago. I don’t think the base is an original. I had to remove a good bit of flash in some areas to get the wheels to fit. Plus, I can’t imagine they found all those original bases for those kits. Nice job on the build.

Hello. That is not a Brightvision kit. That's a cheap copy of the Brightvision kit known as the SAL version. That base is part of that kit and it's not original. It has multiple misspelled words. Pretty simple to tell them apart. Brightvision has a section on their website explaining all of this with pictures.
@diecast show customs - you are 100% correct its a SAL. you can notice esp when finished + assembled. that stance, even DR commented on the sloppy low quality wheels/axles. I have two BVs. They look like orig proto BB. its no wonder they got sued + then Mattel kept the dies, etc + suddenly released 'BB too' as a van. Those are BVs cast/dies w/windows filled in. plus the cost of a REAL BV kit or assembled just to customize vs a $20-80 SAL kit, no comparison. great custom work by DR tho!

I bought 3 of those kits a few years back, the chrome was good, but not the wheels. Painted one pink like that expensive one.
