A year later and watching this as I lie sick in bed. I enjoyed it the second time just as much! I really appreciated seeing you do the repairs - they worked out so well! There's something about mid-century lines that is so appealing to me :) You said at the beginning that you'd like to do this full time...has that become a reality or is it still in the dream category? Thanks for a lovely video. Blessings
Sad to hear about your health. I hope for a quick recovery! Thank you for the kind words - I actually work with furniture 80% of my time now so I’m getting there 🙏🏻😀 Take care now! /Anders
Beautiful restoration. The only thing I would have done differently was replace the whole lip instead of just the broken portion. But I can appreciate holding on to as much of the original wood as possible.
I think if he had cut the wood on a diagonal where it joined it wouldn’t have been as a parent. Also, maybe adding some sawdust to the crack there and blending it in that would have made that look seamless. But all in all I think he did a fantastic job with this beautiful piece.
When there's no talking or music, just the sounds of industry (and birds), you should add 'ASMR'to the keywords list. Some people have sensory issues, and these sounds of industry calm them down. Search ASMR, and you'll see the types of videos that come up. If you add it to the keyboards, you'll get people with sensory issues. No talking or music, though.
Hallo, Jammer van het gerepareerde randje! Het is nog steeds duidelijk zichtbaar. Dat had makkelijk voorkomen kunnen worden!! Maar al doende leert men. Succes met het volgende kastje!!
You bought this piece back to life. I would love that piece in my house. It would fit so well with the mid-century furniture I already have and is exactly what I’ve been looking for to fit a space. Love i
Beautiful job!!! Love how you muscled through the challenges. You probably would do quite well having furniture restoration as a full time job. Especially since mid century furniture is in such high demand and its your specialty and you are EXCELLENT at it!! Good Luck! Can’t wait to see what’s next from you. DDecker
Your work and videos are high quality. I really enjoyed it. I realize talking and voiceovers aren't for everyone but I do wish there was something more than words.. I don't usually have time to sit and watch and read a video. I put it on in the background and listen while Iam working. Just a suggestion
Love to see your work! For a minute there I thought I'd stain that bottom part of the drawers black or something until I realized that the whole thing was "framed" in a darker color. Maybe picking that up in those drawer bottom parts might have been interesting ... looks great regardless! Watching you and folks like Flippingdrawers and Mayfield Restaurations makes my fingers itch to do something like this myself ... living in a rental apartment with very little options spacewise and - at least presently - practically no tools and funds tied up otherwise (granddaughter 😂), I think I just have to bide my time some more and just indulge in watching you guys ... subscribed and wish you every success! Looking forward to your colaboration with Flippingdrawers! Greetings from Germany ❤

Hi! I made it! Checking out your channel and your mid century find! Those pieces are hard to come by these days, that’s why on my channel I try to create my Midcentury modern version 😅. Keep up the good work, great restoration see you soon! 🙌🏽
I really enjoy your videos; you do nice work, have good production values and it’s fun to see the used furniture available in various countries. I have a question: are the bird sounds in your videos added or genuinely ambient? I am curious as to the identity of the bird that sounds so much like a N American wood thrush, whose song is one of my favorites. I particularly enjoy a video that gives me a sense of the place in which it is made!
Great job. I agree with you about bringing new life to old wood. I suspect that that is why I'm unhappy with a lot of these types of videos where the piece is repaired - but then painted.
Really like your video! You did such a nice job - I would have enjoyed seeing a longer reveal showing more of the finished project. I always like time to oggle the beautiful, not painted wood. 😅 great work🎉
Hi, Wow what a transformation. The piece looks terrific. And a hell of a bargain at $30.00. Are you keeping it or flipping it? Nice job merchandising it for the reveal shot. Really like that blue(ish) bowl. Thanks
This video has made me realize that what I need in my front entry is a pretty little this. I'm not sure why you didn't replace that entire edge. Seemed to make more work for yourself trying to stain match and it's rarely going to create an invisible mend. And NO. Never EVER spraypaint on an MCM piece 😢 Just sand the paint off! But very nicely done otherwise. Subscribed. 😊
It’s gorgeous. Takes a lot of patience to do the repairs. I see too many flippers repaint or stain things without doing the repairs - glad you didn’t do that. 😊
You may be well served to learn how to really sharpen a chisel. Take a look at rob cosman 30 seconds to sharp video. There are lots of ways to sharpen, but a non-sharp chisel is dangerous. A sharp tool would have allowed you to shape the repair area without the need for the rasp and the risk of the rasp slipping and potentially ruining the wood on the top. Rasp scratches could be almost impossible to remove had the top been veneered.
Fint resultat.

Taking the doors away. I have two pieces from the 60ties with sliding doors like yours. After a little wiggling it is possible to lift the door upwards in the groove it is sliding in. When you lift it just a little, the bottom part of the door is free, and you just remove the door. Excuse me, it’s so difficult in English, so I use an easier one. Until I watched these vids I always thought mid century furniture was top class!!!!
That's a weird comment.
Much of it is. Some used particle board and laminate. Look for quality pieces that have manufacturers makers marks on them if you want high-end.
Beautiful restoration. The only thing I would have done differently was replace the whole lip instead of just the broken portion. But I can appreciate holding on to as much of the original wood as possible.

Yeah, the patched part hurts my eyes a bit, when it's still so visible, but I can totally understand if it was meant to be an honest repair!
Yes, I would love to see a whole trim board replacement.
I think if he had cut the wood on a diagonal where it joined it wouldn’t have been as a parent. Also, maybe adding some sawdust to the crack there and blending it in that would have made that look seamless. But all in all I think he did a fantastic job with this beautiful piece.
